It is one of V's line in V for Vendetta.

He is killing a squad of gunmen and then it is just him and the leader and the guy is shooting him and yelling "Why won't you die?" and then he grabs the guy says that line and kills him before going off and laying down to die himself.

Ah, my memory is bad! I love that movie, and I think he did a fine voice job there.

Anyhow, I think they kinda had tough decision between Welker and Weaving.

Hmm. As disappointed as I am that Welker (it would appear) hasn't got the role, I must admit that in my head I can hear Weaving doing a good job. It might just be Megatron yet...

One thing he had do just one thing and the fan boys (like myself) would have been appeased. That was to get the real voice of Megatron to play the character once again, instead we have Weaving.

I've always found his acting forced and quite wooden, he's never been a great actor the voice he used in the Matrix trilogy was one of the many annoyances I found as the films went on and on.

No matter what anyone says to me now this is the final nail in this films coffin. Bay might be able to produce visually pleasing films in the past but his direction on this film started off promising and finished up as nothing short of poor.

The way I see it, anyone that truly wanted Welker will have done so based on the merits of his voice.

If he's not Megatron and has been given another part, probably a part with more lines, then the film producers may have done us a great service.

We shall see.

I watched Pracila Queen of the Desert last night and the whole time I'm laughing saying "That's megatron in the green dress!"

I still think Welker should be megatron while Weaving is some one else. I mean why have cullen as prime if you cant have welker as megatron it's like Jelly and peanut butter while you can have one without the other it still doesnt feel right. Seriously why would Bay turn down welker knowing the backlash? See this is why Hollywood isnt doing so well, their out of touch with what their aimed fan base wants over their own pride of adding their own touch to the movie. This is just like the design for the Black Spiderman costume in the new movie, they know everyone associates with the one with the big White spider, and the white patches on the wrists but they just seemingly spray paint an older costume black an white. Now sometimes yes i can understand some changes are in relation to time and money but in this case of transformers it wasn't. There is even an Interview with Michael Bell (G1 Prowl and Swoop for those who don't know) where he asked why the original cast (Sparing Lata and Crothers) couldn't be allowed to play the voices, and Bay never gave Bell a deffinitive answer, though Bell speculates it's because Bay fears that since their pretty old they cant do the voices anymore to which Bell did his Swoop voice perfectly but i mean c'mon most of these guys have been doing voices all their lives. You would think Bay would at least give them a chance to do their voices before deciding but what i got from the Bell interview, it looks like he never even got a chance to audition. This is why I hate hollywood.

I think a lot of it is that despite bickering & sh*t, people really honestly want to see this be a good movie, & what they've seen dosen't tell them that it's going to be. But as with a lot of things, those guys in charge do catch wind of any kind of uproar, & if there's enough of one, they seem to be real careful about how they proceed, & they seem to have listened a bit to the fans, which only encourages them to b*tch & moan more about what they think is wrong. Me, personally, I'm starting to be of a mind that they're not messing with the formula too much to make it seem something entirely different & that it's really going to be a good movie. One thing that helped was seeing Starscream transform in the new commercials, & that his wings didn't actually seem like part of his torso but rather behind it, similar to the original....even though he still looked like a gorilla with chicken legs. It probably also helps that we've been seeing his design for nearly a year now in its various forms so I'm starting to get used to it.

Anywho, since they're at least giving him a part, I'm not so bummed. If they were really going to do something right, I'd say have him do Frenzy...provided that he has ay speaking lines, of course. Otherwise....I dunno....maybe Brawl? Can the man do a good Chris Lotta impersonation? That'd be good for Screamer....

Im just more mad that why have Peter Cullen without Welker it. Now if Cullen wasn't voicing prime i would have no objection to Weaving doing megatron, but when you have one iconic voice but you dont have the other it doesnt seem right. Although I think Bay will ruin the movie by focusing to much on humans.

I'd agree with you both had it not been for a couple key things...

They're taking a new approach to this and in the process are upsetting alot of fans by taking the previous canon and basically saying "eh f*** it!"

I understand what theyre talking about when they say how dull and plain the g1 designs would look in a "live action world," however, some of these characters have had such radical changes, on some of them I don't even know what the hell im supposed to be looking at (I'm talking to you bonecrusher!)

Don't get me wrong, I know that the fans are the minority of their target audience, however, a good portion of the fanbase is quite upset with some of the changes made, or just some of the decisions made. I for one think some of the designs are ludicrously stupid looking.

Moving onto the voice acting, as I said before, Weaving has a very dull range of voices, at least in my opinion. His acting is no better either (again my opinion). Everything I've seen him in I honestly could not stand his acting, and thus hated watching his character throughout the movie.

I honestly do not understand why the people in charge of casting decisions, appeased the fans by getting cullen, but then turning around and not giving welker the job? It just puzzles me... why they would pick weaving over welker, when it has been proved that welker is a much better voice actor with a much much larger range of voices. To be honest he might even be cheaper than weaving... but thats only my guess.

I'd have to agree with your first statement here. Thats what i don't get, why have cullen but no welker? Just seems kinda weird theyd go that route. And I too would not have minded so much had cullen not gotten the job and neither did welker. (although my preference would be to have cullen and welker, rather than having neither).
