Looking at the story, it was Beast Wars Megatron that made a perfectly ordered society out of Machines. He saw the Organic Emotions as a flaw to a lawful society. Also Machines carry more of a connotation of ordered thought and programing, a lawfulness, where Animals carry more of a connotation of the Chaos of Free-will. For the people that look at how the Maximals/Predicons where before the end of Beast Machines, and say they had a lawful society, i'd point out that that was BEFORE Vector Sigma had Optimus Primal return with such a strong fusion of Organic and Inorganic, ie, everyone was still pretty much just machines. Agree or Disagree? Discuss.

When Bludgeon and the Decepticons leave Cybertron in the aftermath of Unicron's attack, he chooses the Decepticons' next target by stabbing a sword into the map and attacking the planet nearest to it.

Not very "logical"

Or we could just drop all this Lawful/Chaotic nonsense because it doesn't really fit in any case. But I've been saying that ever since Mkall first used the ridiculous D&D alignments.

They don't seem to serve any real purpose, I guess they could be used as an indicator as to what the faction is like for new players...but then again the faction is defined by the players

True, but Bludgeon is pretty Oragnic Looking. I kinda agree with the people that say we should just drop it too, unless some more detail of plans for the game might be leaked as to why it's needed? :-?

Bludgeon's a Pretender, that's why he is organic! We see him several times in tank and robot mode if you read the comics.

But yes, drop it.

Tammuz, we're discussing the alignments of the factions as described in the HMW V2 FAQ

i mean, i like the idea of having more RP fluffiness, but i think it stifles peoples creativity a bit with the personalities of their Transformers.

ah, thanky you,

i think we could interpret it thus, the lawful are those that beleive in the tradition and the civil rule of cybertronian governent whether it be right or wrong, whereas the chaotic have no reservations about cybertronian law, they have agenda's and and will not abandon them reagardless of where the law stands on the subject.

Considering the tripredacus council and (assuming) the Maximal elders talked a lot about politics when planning their attacks; and how the cons and bots fight when they feel like it, I find the lawful/chaotic idea correct.

Autobots are good, but they're purely soliders lead by generals. They fight and fight, but there isn't much evidence of peace treaties and such, at least not in the cartoon.

And Megatron says 'Let's go kill Prime', so they go and do it. Not much planning in that really, is there?

That's a complete load, but it'll do. I'm too tired to structure things properly.

Aha! The alignments have gone!

Thanks Mkall, nice to see we get listened to when we have something sensible to say. Let's face it, most people on here just spout rubbish :P

Hey!

Yeah and I never liked those alignments either.
The opinions expressed in this post are well-reasoned and insightful.
Needless to say, they are not those of SEIBERTRON.COM, its staff members, or any other site lackeys.
Anyone who says otherwise is itching for a fight.

To be honest, I'd rather have it say something about the Maximals and Predacons being the only recognized citizens of Cybertron since technically Autobots and Decepticons would both be considered rebels.

Technically, the Predacons, Autobots, and Decepticons are all rebels.

But at least the Predacons are recognized by Cybertronian government.

I think that's because most of us are tired of being ginuea pigs and want more back up.

6 vs 1 sucks!

Its kinda funny that I was talking about more energon efficient and what not, but since I've become a Predaon I've lost over 800K in energon
