Autobot Headquarters: Command Center
There is nothing like stepping into the past to understand the relentless march of technology, it was a feeling of both nostalgia and a little sadness that washed over her as she stepped into the Command Center of Iacon, the very mind of the Autobot Resistance. Arcee had only been in here once before, the one time she had been granted clearance during her earliest years, ironically then, as it was now, it had been at the side of her first mentor, and father figure, Kup.
The pink tinted Femme had been fresh faced then, barely more than a Protoform, having almost only just resigned her commission as a medic to serve along the front lines and had only seen a handful of battles. She had only been granted admittance as Kups aide back then, at least in an official capacity, the rookie soldier allowed a glimpse into the heartbeat of the Resistance, the upper echelons of her cause, the heights to which she had hoped to achieve.
Optimus Prime had not been present, commanding his forces from the dais, but that wasn't who she had wanted to meet. No, back then, while the supreme commander was deep in the trenches, it was Elita 1 at Iacons Helm, the entire reason Arcee was who she was today.
The pink tinted Fembot had never forgotten that day, especially now as it reflected back at her.
It was so quite, like all of Iacon, waiting for her children to come home. The Autobots had marched on, the means they possessed to fight their never ending war had done so with them, Iaon on the other hand, lost and abandoned, had not.
"No school like old school..." she whispered quietly as she marched past the consoles, a small smile upon her features. The monitors, the interfaces, she couldn't believe how much they had changed, they seemed so...clunky, nothing like the streamlined mechanics and aesthetics that had replaced them.
She was amazed Wheeljack was able to contain himself, no doubt inundated with ideas on how to update and upgrade the old girl. Iacon deserved no less, to be the best.
Still, she admitted, it had its charm.
Almost from the moment Howlstrike admitted defeat at the seat of the security, moving on to check other system, Arcee took his place. The pink tinted Femme, more familiar with the aesthetics of its design, was able to negotiate the more redundant systems with greater ease, getting to the heart of the network without much hassle.
>>"New Protege Kup?"<<
Arcee opened the private line to her own, long time mentor as she worked, quietly amused by the realization that much of what she was doing now had been taught to her by the very same Mech. She had noticed how Howlstrike stayed close to the well respected Mech, and clearly held him in high regard, and she was curious as to what the connection was.
>>"You haven't been missing Hot Rod have you?"<<
Even as she spoke across the secure channel, she achieved success at her station, pleased with her progress enough to report it, turning in her seat to look upon the Command Dias, and Ultra Magnus.
"The Grid is on line and operational Commander...barely, I'm afraid time has taken its toll".
