i just got a torca,and i can't decide if it should just be a repaint(maybe optimus or the fallen)or modded into a vehicle form.so once again i turn to the loyal members of this site to cite their opinions.in case people are wondering what the base figure is;it is the really fugly fuzor of an orca(RE:killer whale for the uneducated) and an elephant.here is a link http://www.bwtf.com/bw/toys/reviews/torca/

You know, I'd actually be intrigued to see a vehicle mode made out of it, and I can almost see how it might be done. I'm picturing some kind of hovering speedster, but I guess it could be a submersible too...

I think modding is the way to go, it's one b-ugly beast.
As suggested previously, a submersible might be neat, or maybe a rocket or batmobile-like vehicle. :lol:

i am really taking a liking to the submersible idea.my original mod idea was going to be cybertronian siege tank with a cannon under the cockpit(head)area

i think all the other fuzors were obvious...can you imagine the meetings at hasbro?
1st guy-i know, how about a tiger, but with wings.....
2nd guy- or a wolf............with wings!!!
3rd guy-(very possibly coming off a brain ravaging drug habit) or or or ...a killler whale with, with elephant legs!!!! and tusks!! yeah tusks!!

youve got to admire whoever came up with this character for thinking outside the box.

personally i'd just leave torca as is to remind you that hasbro do employ people with imagination (spongebob style) and arent completely hooked on obvious repaints

but then again what do i know??

i agree with you in the fact it was an interestiing idea(honestly most of the fuzors' forms seemed to complement themselves way too well;i.e bantor,silverbolt,quickstrike)the more interesting ones were the ones like torca,air hammer,noctorro,and injector.the fugly bunch as it were.though i do have to admit after looking at air hammer again i think he might be a good fig to bash too

Ok, I think I'm going to be the only one here to actually admit I like the look of Torca. I don't know why. Years ago when I first saw him I had your same reaction, but after much time, he looks sweet in beast mode. His bot mode is just ok, but the beast mode looks like one of the most posable beast wars figs. Most of them were mostly shell-formers. Plus, I like the paint job on the guy. The elephant parts look all muscley like an anatomical drawing.

His head does look like the fallen though, and you could always take that off for one bash, then strip off the whale parts for a Big Convoy bash, maybe transmetal Big Convoy.

Hey! As GP108 pointed out, I liked him too! Also, I agree with your points.

I think he was very well done and was true to the Fuzor concept. He was two completely different animals mixed very well into one animal. Sure he didn't really gain much in the way of special abilities like flying, but I thought he was well designed. His robot mode was bulky which really made him look like a tough guy; that iron mask design didn't hurt either!

I just have to say that I love the mold as well. I have the BW Neo repaint, Elphaorpha, and even though the name sucks, I think the paint job is much better than the Hasbro one (that blue/black colorscheme really suits him), and is easily one of my favourite all-time Beast Wars toys.

I love all the molded details on his animal mode, the robot mode face, the huge tusks, the build-in removable squirter (admittedly a bit lame, but suits him better than it did on Megatron and Cheetor...) and the general bulk of him. And it didn't hurt that Don F made him a towering hulk of a giant in the comics, either.

So more Torca love, people!

Regarding bashing idea, you could strip off the back of the animal mode, and maybe attach some real elephant bits from BW Ironhide? I dunno... just trying to think a little outside the box here... :wink:

I'd go with mod as well, just wish this thing was bigger like what they did in the IDW Beast Wars comics. Hey, there we go. Get some of that hydro stuff that increases molds, and try and recreate a larger version.

I think the perfedt mod for it would to be to burn it and take its photos soaring into a trash can.

I would go with mod, that thing is ugly. It has potential. I would make it like a cybertronian, like in those comics that come the 10th anniversary beast wars comics. I would say something like cybertronian razorbeast.
