It's a leaking can of jet fuel. It looses half of its fuel before completing a take off. Immediately after take off, it has to refuel in the air. And then accelerate to supersonic speed, to be able to expand and seal the leaks.
I don't think Megatron would enjoy playing Bumblebee's "leaking" antics.

He's an alien jet, I don't think he need worry about refuelling.
But I'm not going to let this conversation degenerate into ANOTHER "Do transformers need engines?" debate.
Moving on, I think he'd look great as a Blackbird, though with his angular robot mode the black would make his movements almost impossible to follow on screen.
And to be honest not many people outside the military (and, of course, enthusiasts) would look into the sky and go "Oh, it's a Blackbird! What's it doing, they were discontinued?"
Anyone who knows it's no longer in use is more likely to just pass it off as some millionaire nutter restoring an old SR-71.

I agree Transformers have their own powerplants, they don't need to rely on a human engine design. The outside is only a shell, the only limitations would be the properties of the airframe as every airframe has its own limitations in certain areas.
But what I want to know is what would happen if a US airborne patrol would of sighted a flying SR-71? Also where would Megatron hide or blend in at when not in transit? That puzzles me.
Justicity wrote:Look at the Megatron in the movie... look at his ruthless determination to get the Allspark... Do you reeeeally think he cares about blending in XD
Sgt.Schnitzel wrote:But isn't that the whole point of this topic?
I thought TF's took earth modes to blend in the environment?
Did I misinterpret that?

A-10 the issue- total length 53ft-4in. - and the main gun would just be a little bigger- sorta like starscreams arms -for missiles-

I know the 2007 movie, and I know jets. Apparently I know little else.
