I actually like this. It's very IDW miniseries Ironhide. If the price doesn't kill me I'd pick up Ironhide and Ratchet both.

Look awesome, but damn they're going to make a hole in the wallet... Hopefully they can both be picked up for less than $100

The funny part about that is I believe they would sell A LOT more if the pair could be picked up for under a $100. But, I believe $75 is the minimum they will sell for. Consequentially, many people will pass.

ouuuccchhhh.... thats so brutal.... I might still pick up one, and that will have to be Ironhide, just coz I like destruction more than repair. Maybe I can sell my Universe Ironhide for a Universe Ratchet, hah.

I love the robot details, look at the inside of the legs. The alt mode retains the G1 look. I know they will be way too expensive and so I would probably not buy but I have to give credit where its due.

I have to agree, I much more prefer Ironhide. I do like that iGear (atleast appears) will make them both available at the same time. REALLY wish I had a Henkei Ratchet so the two would finally have a distinction from each other...ohwell.

I agree 100%. All the weapons make me think he is headed out to kill the swarm again. The head sculpt is also spot on.

That would be cool as well.

As said early, this reveal has me really excited for Impactor. I really enjoy iGear's love for IDW.

iGear neglected to add the prefix *MASTERPIECE* to the Ironhide and Ratchet!

WOW!

These two figures are beyond my expectations!

Two of my favorites get a proper treatment. These are hands down the BEST versions of either of these characters to date.

Thank you, iGear.

Let's see some more coming!

I read somewhere that iGear was planning on doing the entire 84 line at some point. Great news for G1 fans!

How well will these look with the MP figures. Will Ironhide and Ratchet be close to scale with the new MP-10 Optimus? If so, I'll buy them but I can't have an Ironhide on my classics shelf that's bigger than my Classics Prime. That would bug me too much.

Yes, these will be in scale with the new MP-10 Optimus Prime (Convoy) AND the PP-01 Faith Leader. Both will be similar in size.

Ratchet and Ironhide will be approximately 7.5 inches tall, which makes them a PERFECT scale for the PP-01 and the MP-10 New Masterpiece Optimus Prime (Convoy).

It's funny how many people hate on iGear. I don't know about you but they're giving me all sorts of options when it comes to buying masterpiece style transformers that I can afford. No way can I shell out Takara prices for a toy let alone the fact that Takara doesn't put stuff out on any consistent basis. And if they do, it's got Prime at the end of its title. Hasbro Masterpiece's are damn near non-existent. There's what, Optimus, Grimlock, Starscream/Skywarp, and now Rodimus. Good luck getting your hands on those before aftermarket mark up. iGear's Ramjet is looking damn sexy and so are those rainmakers. This Ironhide and Ratchet look pretty clean too, and that's saying a lot for an 80's minivan. Yeah, iGear rips off everyone's designs but if Takara and Hasbro put stuff out more regularly, affordable, and available, businesses like iGear wouldn't get the attention they get. That's my two cents. Sorry for the great wall of text. :P

Around 100 - 120 each. But this is an estimation. I hope there is more info at BotCon this weekend.

Your signature ROCKS!

There is a lot of internet "bandwaggon" hate. See, little boys have nothing else better to do than complain, and since they can hide behind their computer screen, and there is no one to put them in their place, they cry on the internet like a little girl. The other reason why we see a lot of this on the internet (you can see it no matter what fandom, no matter what forum), is that people's lives are so pointless and shallow, that complaining about something makes them feel important. Makes them feel more of a man, I guess. But yes, there is a lot of bandwaggon hate for iGear. Just ignore the little bitches.

Same people who cry IP infringement on iGear also love and collect Fansprojects, headrobots, Perfect Effect and others. Total hypocrites. I can't tell you how many of them bash on iGear, then turn around later and say, "Oh, that Dirge is tempting," or "I hate iGear but only if they made a scaled MP-05 Megatron or Ultra Magnus with trailer...". Again, they're little bitches. Ignore them.

Bottom line is this. Hasbro complains how they loose money. Yet, they make no effort to sell product fans want. They have their own website, and can sell product there, but their quantities are so small, that unless you don't have a life or work for a living, you have better chance of getting hit by lightning twice than finding anything on Hasbro's website. All Hasbro cares about is polluting stores with shelf warming DOTM toys. That's all we'll see for the next 3 years. When they do get around to do another line, we'll probably get plagued with their typical tactic of releasing as little product as possible, so they can tell us they don't make money and the Classics toys don't sell. This happened with Classics 2.0, especially towards the end of that line, and the ENTIRE Classics 3.0 (RTS, GENERATIONS) line.

Takara isn't much better. MP toys have been around since 2004. There will be 10 releases by the end of this year. 6 of them are MP Convoy (Optimus Prime). I won't be surprised if MP-11 is MP-10 convoy WITHOUT the trailer. As much as I love the MP line, we're going to die of old age long before characters like Ironhide and Ratchet get released by Takara. So, again, thank you iGear.

That being said, I am grateful to Takara for the MP toyline, and to Hasbro for the Classics toy lines. There have been some amazing toys they developed the last ten years too, such as Animated, Binaltech/Alternators, Titanium, ect. MP Toys are my favorite. They're not for everyone. They are elaborate, frail, and expensive. I can understand why some people shy away from them. I'm glad Takara kept doing other installments, as It was originally just suppose to be MP-1 Convoy. But this line, probably due to the costs and time to engineer, rarely sees new figures. It's a slow process. And I am happy other companies are giving us other characters that we just won't see with the official Takara releases.

3rd Party companies, like iGear, keep the fandom alive during these long droughts of movie toys and endless releases of MP Convoy, with a few filler molds inbetween. I am very grateful that we will finally be getting Ironhide and Ratchet.

Igear stated they are considering doing the ENTIRE 84 line in the PP-01, PP-05 fashion. Slightly smaller scaled Masterpiece toys. That is such amazing news, and I am very excited to see what iGear and other 3rd party companies have in store for us. It's a great time to be a Transformers fan thanks to the other 3rd party options available to us.

The only reason I wouldn't like iGear above any other non-FP 3rd party company is that they seem to rip off fan-made designs. I'd be interested to know if their Coneheads use the same idea as that dan's custom. Great news if they don't.

I also don't think the quality on their crown set was there either. Or the hammer set so much. And I head the Ark playset wasn't so great. So there's that too. But none of that is about IP infringement. I agree it's inconsistent to love FP when they infringe on IPs and hate iGear for it.

Wow. Feel better with that off your chest?
I have to agree with what you said, except maybe the foul language. I love third party stuff! Love it. As far as the scaled down MP's, I have the big ones, and thus no use for them. This Ironhide and Ratchet set is something that almost NEEDED to be done. I hope those hybrid style Dinobots are moving through the development process too! An entire '84 line you say?

This is the American Hasbro release lineup for 1984 according to the Transformers Identification and Price Guide. Possibly 31 mini MP's? Well, goodluck with that! I would buy them all if they are not reproductions of figures I already own.
