Be very careful with Squawktalk's wings, the ball joints are incredibly fragile. BBTS had to ship out a replacement because mine broke out of the box.Gauntlet101010 wrote:Wow, so many problems with KFC's cassettes. I guess I got lucky. Sure, there are some loose joints and squawkTalk's guns are a pain to put in, but none of 'en actually broke on me.

The plastic felt waxier than TFC's Hercules, and the joints were so weak he couldn't hold up his right arm. Maybe my hopes for a truly G1-esque Megatron were too high, and I did try to get over it, but I had to sell him off.

I wasn't patient so much as not willing to stray from BBTS at the time even though I really wanted him. Seeing the third run for pre-order on CP was something I couldn't resist in the end and just happened to get lucky on quality (I didn't know about the earlier QC issues). Sometimes being stupidly stubborn can pay off I guessmegatronus wrote:Arctorro wrote:What run was that from, I got one from the third (and final) run and, apart from slightly lose ankles, he is great. I got three in total - all from the first run. I would buy one, be unhappy with it, sell it, and buy another one. After the 3rd, I called it quits.
From your satisfaction, it looks like I should have been a tad more patient

Glad to hear yours is good, but the bit I bolded seems to be the precursor to the ball joint breaking. Yours most likely isn't tight enough to be a problem though.Gauntlet101010 wrote:Arctorro wrote:Be very careful with Squawktalk's wings, the ball joints are incredibly fragile. I just went to my display to fiddle with them. It seems like something that happened to more than one person, so I won't say anything like it being an isolated issue, but my own ST seems alright. One wings is somewhat tight, but I didn't need a scary amount of force to move it or anything.

I have the same feeling but probably won't use the word boring but lonely. That's why I decided to wait and not open my Fortis and put my Bovis back in to box and wait until all Predacons are assembled.Banjo-Tron wrote:This is going to sound odd but so far I have found the first 2 of MMC's Predacons underwhelming. I can't really put my finger on it - it's like they are way too big, and I just find them a bit boring.

Mostly just for motobot, never got one myself. Their Warden looks great. I may wait for it to hit my PoL before shipping, despite Motormaster's imminent release.
To go in a different direction, I'm always disappointed when a simple head upgrade like Growing Pains shows up and the neck socket is loose. I'm like, "YOU HAD ONE JOB TO DO!" The red alert/sideswipe kit was sorta week as well, shoulder bits didn't peg in, in a way that felt solid and the clips to hold the rocket launchers are very floppy

I had no problems with my Bumblebee or Goldbug kits. I do, however, agree with you wholeheartedly on the Heroic Duo kit. Both the head and shoulder launches are excessively floppy. Granted, this may be because I have the 2nd run, which was molded in particular colors instead of painted. But still.

That and Fansproject. And for the life of me... I have never had any problems with their product.
Banjo-Tron wrote:Well just to 'spread the love' as it were, both iGear and KFC really don't seem to care when it comes to choosing final plastics etc. And as for paint? What dross. Fansproject and PE in the case of Motobot are at least 'pushing the envelope' in terms of complexity, the other 2 are just purveyors of tat.
mooncake623 wrote: Rodimus upgrade: It doesn't even look like Rodimus when upgraded, most of the trailer is unused!!! I do like it in alt mode.
Ironpaw and Rhinohorn are probably the best of those released so far, but Ironpaw's legs are floppy and his guns need a knife/screwdriver/whatever to help with transforming them. They are also stupidly thick in cassette mode, so if you want to use them with MP-13 you will only fit two cassettes in him when they are involved.robotmel wrote:Banjo-Tron wrote:Well just to 'spread the love' as it were, both iGear and KFC really don't seem to care when it comes to choosing final plastics etc. And as for paint? Are KFC really that bad in terms of quality and build?
Looking for any feedback from you good folk wHo own any of their cassettebots as I would like to pick up Justice Ironpaw (Steeljaw), Rhinohorn Justice (Ramhorn), Haymaker (Slugfest) and Overslay (Overkill)?
