Not one of Bay's creations.

Coolyfett wrote:Blackout should be Vortex

Again, not a creation of Bay's

Interestingly enough, in Energon, Blackout is the name for the helicopter that forms part of Bruticus Maximus.

Coolyfett wrote:Never heard of a Brawl

Are you serious? He was one of the members of the Combaticons! He was Bruticus's leg! How have you heard of Vortex but not Brawl? They were on the same team! They both formed parts of Bruticus.

Coolyfett wrote:Barricade is an evil Prowl, but not actually Prowl, that sucks majorky

Once more, not a creation of Bay's.

Coolyfett wrote:Blocky cartoon?? huh?

Gear towards kids?? huh?

You've never even seen G1, have you? It was a 22 minute commercial for Hasbro to have an easier time selling toys. It was, in no way, shape, or form, made for adults.

And yes, I do mean blocky. Curves were not common.

Coolyfett wrote:So you hate G1? What is this G1 you refer to?

Let's just say I prefer Beast Wars.

Yeah, I am. it was darker, more mature, and if you can find one episode of G1 that even comes remotely close to Code of Hero, then I'll reconsider my stance. As the "real" Transformers, I have o clue what you're talking about. Are you trying to say G1 is the only real TF series, or are you trying to say Transformers are real? Because either way, you're wrong. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go find Revelation and All Hail Megatron.

Stow the atittude.

Beast Wars are part of the Transformers franchise, making it a "real" Transformers line just like G1, G2, RiD, BM, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, ... well you should get the point.

Learn to respect the opinions of others, we all have to put up with your anti-movie rantings after all.

What attitude? I am having fun, a great time,

I said and I quote "No Harm No Foul" meaning all good, no disrespect what so ever, if Shadowman felt disrespected (as I doubt) than I am sure he has the ability to address it.

Anti-movie rantings?? Transformers The Movie Starring Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy & Olson Wells is a CLASSIC, no anti movie rantings here, be specific when you make such claims.

Please no flaming, Mods should know better. Peace & Love

You do know that everytime you post in here you are adding to the ANTI BAY SENTIMENT, you do know this correct?

Its not nice to thread hijack for your own personal agenda my friend.

And Coolyfelt, I am neither a hater of Bay or a lover. You know what I am? Someone who appreciates a movie for what it is. A fun popcorn flick that lets me escape the real world for a couple hours and not have to think about anything else.

I know I am in a minority on this site as I dont hold transformers to such high acclaim and high regard that the holy g1 is untouchable and anyone who changes anything is performing sacrilage. Like someone else said its a 22 minute commercial to sell toys which many of us have been suckered into over the last 25 years.

Here is the trick Shadowman, robinson never stated his opinion on THE MATTER of Bay being awful or great, he simple attacked me for posting in the topic. I have no idea if he agrees or disagrees with me. He is the one NOT staying on topic. You Shadowman disagree about Bay and that is fine, but I have no clue how Robinson feels about Mike Bay, I just know how he feels about ME Talking about Bay, not how he actually feels about bay. See when certain posters follow me around, I see it a mile away. They never address the opinion they address me personally which is not proper forum manners. I am not a fan of many of the things I have been seeing and hearing and I have no problem voicing it. Bay is bad for Transformers. In 1988 or 1989 Transformers as a brand was sick, not dead but very ill, Bay gave the brand a steroid, but people act like he cured the illness, steroids are bad. These new films are not Timeless Classics like Ghostbusters or Back to the Future, they are more along the linee as those TNMT movies with Vanilla Ice. In time you all will see what I am talking about. I dont just live for today, I also live for the future. Ill let you think about that.

Wrong. For many illnesses, doctors will prescribe steroids. Check your facts.

Totally agreed with. He does big effing explosions. If we didn't have Michael Bay as the director.. we wouldn't have very enjoyable explosions... and the car chase scenes would probably be sub-par. Michael has shown what he can do, and as a fandom we should be grateful. Death threats, computer hacking and home invasions would probably scare the **** out of any other director, but Michael has stayed true to the challenge and has done a fantastic job.

The explosions in his movies are silly with his signature style fireworks shooting out of them. He even used fireworks when Starscream transformed and skidded down the city street in slow motion in the last segment of the movie. It might be interesting if he blew up a fireworks factory, but his style is completely goofy when he applies them to other purposes. I can never get into his movies without "falling out of the moment".

For comparison, I just saw Terminator and was very satisfied with the explosions, action, and directing style. There is too much Mtv hype that Bay is awesome at explosions. Poppycock

I once saw someone say that he couldn't find a movie entertaining unless his brain was engaged by the movie. That's a sentiment I agree with. If I have to shut my brain down to enjoy something, I can't enjoy it. The movie doesn't have to be enlightening, or anything like that, it just has to have a fair bit more going for it than explosions and cool special effects.

Michael Bay, by that standard, IS a horrible director. He has never yet made a movie I have been able to enjoy, and I have long since given up hope that he ever will.

Personally, the only reason I've followed either Transformers movie was because it was like watching a train wreck. Or, in the case of the sequel, like watching a second train wreck itself on the smoldering wreckage of the first train.

Michael Bay is not awful at all. He makes films with big explosions and decent plots ( usually )and happy endings that are fun to watch.

Independance Day is a great film.

Pearl Harbour was dross of the highest order. The attack took longer on film than it did in reality. And the plot was downright immoral.

But most of his films are great.

It could have been some really bad or arty idiot who did Transformers. Then it really would suck.

I nearly did not watch Transformers 1 because that loser Spielberg was involved.
I hate Stephen Spielberg. He is overrated garbage like George Lucas.

Just hope the sentimental loon bucket did not get his claws in further into T2.

I watched The Rock, twice last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, also liked the first Bad Boys and The Island. So its not that I hate Michael Bay, its that I hate what he did to Transformers. Maybe if we had a stronger cast who cared about the script, or better writers, or a departure from his cliched directing style or a combination of the above we might have had a better first (and possibly second) Transformers movie.

Yeah, The Rock is Bay's best movie, and probably one of the best action movies of all time. And it's got Connery. His other movies were all good, except Pearl Harbor. (Which would have been good if it didn't try to be another Titanic with the love story) But, in the end, if the TF movie series does well financially and critically, I think it will be the high point of Bay's legacy.

Are you serious Spielberg invented the Summer Blockbuster. And While I agree with you on the Lucas spot, Micheal Bay has less talent then Spielberg's Gym shorts. You can see At least 3 different draws Bay pulls from Spielberg in Transformers alone, from ET, Raiders of the Lost Ark, to Jurassic Park. Do you know how many Academy Awards this man and his movies have Shindler's List, Munich, Saving Private Ryan, are you serious bub.
