I think it fit his character well. The whole movie he was doing funny things. From the beginning on the used car lot, when he pretty much makes sure Sam ends up with him, to him screwing around with Sam while Mikaela was in the car, to his lubrication of Simmons. Bumblebee just had that kind of personality, and it was pretty constant through the movie. Maybe that's why I have no issues with it.

And I love a good potty joke.

Exactley like when BB was dancing with the music he was playing when Ops(Optimus) interdused him.

You're not the only one, it was moronic, out of character and in very bad taste. I personally cringed and felt embarrassed to be watching on a number of occations during the movie but that scene almost had me out of my chair and off home.

Weapon: Gattling Gun
In the beginning when they spoke of the 'Allspark' and how if it fell into the wrong hands it could change the fate of the universe etc. etc. and that they searched the every planet etc. trying to find it. I feel like that whole statement was negated by most of their actions on earth, there just wasn't a sense of urgency, and that peeing scene didn't help any. Its not about how funny it was or wasn't, it just had no place in this movie

It shouldn't have been in the film, but it was at least in character for Bumblebee, he's a cheeky little chap. I liked his pose as he did it - sort of an innocent 'whaaaaat?' stance - but surely the effects budget spent on that gag could have been diverted into something more worthwhile.

I had a bigger problem with the dumbass scene where all the Autobots stomp unnoticed around the suburbs.

I thought it was funny.
It didn't detract from the film and gave a sense of lightness to the whole thing. (I want to be entertained and have fun, not be paying for depression...)
Bumblebee isn't the same character as the G1 version, this Bumblebee kicks ass and happens to be cool, funny, and endearing at the same time.

It's a real shame that people focus on a few off kilter segments and let them ruin the entire experience for them. It's kinda sad actually.

And you're right that the movie was aimed at a target audience: EVERYONE.

It provided entertainment for:

Adults (in general)
Fans (there were enough fanwanks to please, people just aren't willing to be gracious and say "Ya know what? I give 'em credit.")
Geeks (oh yeah, geeks comin' out of the woodwork!)
Kids (Bumblebee protected the boy throughout the film, he was brave and a hero. Kids tend to gravitate towards a more human superhero, and Bumblebee was as human as the TransFormers can get.)

And you know what all of these different types of people enjoy? (even to a certain extent) gross out humor.

It was just the TF world version of gross out humor.

And how can anyone not enjoy house scene with the Autobots? It's absolutely hilarious because they really have no sense of their size compared to our world. It was a gutbuster to watch Prime lean against the house and they all hide out. Prime stepping on the fountain? I laughed my head off!

Was it a perfect film? No.
Was it entertaining and fun? Yes.

It was meant to be lighthearted (in spots), goofy in others, and wall to wall action in the rest. It covered all the bases, from coming of age to romance to adventure to action to good vs. evil to a triumphant ending.

It *IS* what movies are all about. Perhaps all the movies like Titanic actually damaged us, because we expect a little too much out of our entertainment sometimes. (To expect nothing is a ridiculous measure as well, you have to demand some quality over quantity...but not to the levels we're pushing it to.)

This was an adrenaline filled, popcorn munchin', big gulp drinking night of fun, and I, for one, was glad to have taken the ride. I'll do it again asap, and for sure will own the DVD.

Sometimes, you just gotta slow down, take some time to enjoy life, and have some fun. People who constantly live their life like a bunch of human machines just miss out on too much in the world around them.

Take a chance, have some fun, and enjoy yourselves people!

The idea of being a "robot in disguise" is to hide your true identity. To just go around in public as a robot and not hide your true form would A: Make being a TRANSFORMER pointless and B: Attract alot of unwanted attention.

Of course they are gonna try and freaking hide!

You know, that begs the question did Bumblebee get the idea to piss on Simmons from the dog pissing on Ironhide? It obviously bothered Ironhide at the moment, so maybe that's where he got the idea.

I would have to say, yes. It do believe he did get the idea from the dog. That's one opf the reasons why it was so funny.

Besides, what else could a 20 foot tall super strong robot do to a human without hurting them? Anything physical would more than likely hurt the guy and to do that would go against everything the autobots stand for.
