Motto: "A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination."
Weapon: Sniper Rifle
Star Wars fans and collectors read up, it's a good one.

And if you collect TFs (duh..), or Joes, all that needs replacing are a few key words and ideas, and the article applies to us too...

http://www.jivemagazine.com/column.php?pid=3381

A translation (For example):

"I hate George Lucas, he's killed my childhood!"

in Transformers becomes...

"I hate Michael Bay, he's killed my childhood!

in GI Joe becomes...

"I hate Lorenzo Di Bonaventura (whatever?), he's killed my childhood!"

How so? Any parts in particular?

I had not thought about how Ewoks, and Wookies were related, and did not know Endor was supposed to be Kashykk in original ideas.

Wow, hate Star Wars? Me and my dad just crack jokes about it. But still we love the movies. (Though I and II to a lesser extent)

So I guess that makes us "imposters" as he put it? :?

After reading the article I think the author lost his mind..
All the hate.. WASSAP WIT DAT?
I know TONS of people (locally too) that love Star Wars and everything about it.
Not a sheeple.

Kind of how I took it...'cause he changed his tone to 'hating it' at the beginning to 'liking the idea'.

Well obviously this is just a sarcastic sum up from all the endless critism that guy heard among the star wars fanbase.

It's more a love-hate thing than a hate thing. But that is what happens when people get passionate about something. I love paradox.

I notice that he didn't talk about the toys at all...just the universe of SW media. Does that make me a TF poser...because all I've ever cared about was the toys?

Still it begs the question...do SW and TF fans say those things because it is true, of because they are just jaded and mean? The truth can be pretty nasty sometimes.

I love TFs, but the G1 show was a bad show. But that doesn't take away from what it meant to me as a child. Doesn't mean that I hate it. Just like I'll always have a space in my heart for my first car, worthless hunk of junk that it was.
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.

For realsies

Star Wars fans are notorious for griping...

"I hate Jar Jar Binks!"

"I hate midichlorians!"

"It's not like the originals!"

I LOVE Star Wars, but sometimes the complaining gets old.
I LIKE Jar Jar, Midichlorians, and I am glad it is not totally like the originals.

I know I am being hypocritical with the complaining, but I do not like the idea of Annie's virgin birth, or little Annie, and the way he is always saying "Yippee!" and other dumb things.
I also wish there was more Darth Maul, but knowing the EU book authors, you would have eventually have found out he had a secret girlfriend and ended up having Sith kids. Plus eventually meeting the ghost of some long dead Sith Lord on Korriban or whatnot. Or finding some uber-powerful "Sith Crystal." So I'm glad he kicked the bucket early before the authors got too much temptation to "expand his character" besides the few books he has.

Like I said, I LOVE Star Wars, just not when it goes into eye-roll country like the EU books tend to do.
I AM THAT WIERD FANGIRL YOU'VE HEARD OF.
