I lived in the projects when I was a kid, I've seen the horror stories. My hometown is predominately white and redneck, and affluent, and when minorities moved into town, they made sure they were shuffled off to the new projects they had built.

Because we were poor (still are, not quite as bad as before though, thank God.) the housing authority put us there, and my dad's friend (who happens to be black) said "get the hell out of there!" and for good reason. Cockroach infestations, drugs, weapons, and I wasn't there more than 2 week because I was beaten up twice in that time period. Once, BADLY. He almost broke my nose, and why? Because I was white and at 9 years old he already knew how to hate "The Man". His dad said "show that scrawny motherf*cker what you got boy! He ain't welcome here! You tell yo mommy and daddy ta get yo ass outta here!" I was sitting on the curb, all by myself, and a bunch of kids were starting to walk towards me, so I decided to head inside. They ran to catch up with me, and started out by punching me in the nose, knocking me ass over apple cart.

Poor people don't *HAVE* to commit crime and break laws to survive. Oh sure, it'd be easier to do so, but it's not the right thing to do. Then when people are put in prison for doing these heinous acts, they all sit there and go "Damn, this ain't right. I ain't done nothin'" when in actuality they were either running drugs, guns, etc.

I have cousins who are Black and they're rich, rich, rich...and they treat us like you say white people treat you. Well guess what? We're equal, so f*ck you. HARD.

My girlfriend and I just got pulled over yesterday, and the cop acted all weird in asking us for our information, including asking for my id (I was asleep in the passenger seat) which has never happened before. He comes back and finally tells us why we were pulled over (which he was supposed to have done before all of this) and says "Well your tail lights are burned out and need replaced asap. I'll let you go with a warning, but head straight to Wal-Mart with your blinkers on and replace them tonight, because I'll be waiting and watching and if they're not replaced, I'll pull you over again."

Guess what? Our lights were perfectly fine, I double checked just to make sure.

So I threw him a curveball and we drove around in my car, pulled into Sheetz, and he was getting coffee and said "Oh smooth move, changing cars huh?" I realized he was off duty and I said "What? No life outside of the badge? All you do is come here and hit on the women who don't want you and I do remember you offering to mace the one behind the counter because she told you where to stick it and called you a prettyboy." He started getting pissed, but then everyone in the store actually starting yelling "DAMN RIGHT! YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE!" He got so flustered, dropped his coffee and stormed right out of the store.

I went to the cashier and got his name and called his station and explained the entire situation and what happened to the desk officer on duty, and was given a stern talking to about disrespecting an officer, even off duty and I reiterated that he was the one who initiated the sh*tstorm in the store, and the cop then apologized and said "when off duty, we do not have the right to act like. Even when we're on the clock we still must meet the public with a certain level of respect and I apologize."

I went ahead and told him about him running the plates, pulling us over, etc, and he explained that because the car was a West Virginia car with plates, that it needed to be stopped in case of drug trafficking, or even guns. I asked about the light thing and the officer said "That was his way of getting out of trouble. He had no real justifiable reason to pull you over. You were operating the vehicle within normal parameters and eventhough you didn't have the insurance card, he realized it wasn't worth the trouble you could've brought to him over this. Again, I apologize."

You know why he pulled me over? He wanted to try and bust us for the biggin's and he failed. He's succeeded before in these busts, and you know why? (Proven fact) these "thugs" (TRY LIVIN' THE LIFE I LIVED! BEYOTCH! or whatever dumb sh*t you can come up with.) these thugs come across the border from Ohio via Youngstown, and it's transferred to other cars, which are then taken to West Virginia, and vice versa. This is why WV has a massive FBI substation in Clarksburg/Bridgeport WV. Most, if not all of the suspects caught in this are minorities.

Yet proving they choose to live the thug life and commit crime, and by doing so, they f*cking ruin it for the rest of us.

I get pulled over for minding my own business because of thugs 4 lyfe like YOU.

Don't give me your bitchfits about how the world treats you. Treat the world with respect and you'll receive it in return, and those who still don't respect you...f*ck 'em.

But until you can get that through your bling bling'd mind and pull your pants up so you could actually appear respectable long enough, you're not going to be treated any better than a criminal, and that's a pretty sad state of affairs...wouldn't you say?

Takeing guns away from law-abiding citizens like myself only allows evil to flourish without something to counter it. What I mean to say is the police cannot be EVERYWHERE all the time, so concealed-carry is a great deterrent for those thinking they are living the "thug life", when in all actuality, they will be living the "dead life".

Heh, funny you should mention that. A local man went to prison for 6 years because he was a gunsmith/machinist/militia guy. He was busted making his own AK-47s, UZIs, and other machine/submachine guns. Also had a broadcast station for militia radio.

He was faithful to the very end, he never gave the feds a single name about his customers. (They wanted 'em bad.) He'll be out in 2009 iirc...

NOTE: I do not condone, defend, stand for, or even remotely agree with what this guy did. I think it's pretty f*cked up actually.

On the subject of guns themselves:

Guns are harmless, inanimate objects. People are the dangerous creatures, and while we don't need weapons, we shouldn't be without them, because how the hell do we defend ourselves when someone breaks in, or tries to mug us, carjack, etc? No protection whatsoever? Smooth move, that makes you a walking bullseye painted in bright neon colors. At least carry Mace if nothing else.

For example, the guns you see sitting in the glass cases at Wal-Mart...do they open the case, jump down off of their rack , load themselves and then go on a killing spree? Nope.

The people do that. A car is a deadly weapon, we've seen vehicular homicide, etc. However, sitting in a dealership, it's harmless. It just sits there, on display, waiting to either be sold, or sent off to some poor man's auto auction.

Because it has the potential to kill...should a car be taken from the public? (Some would say yes...especially tree hugging hippies.)

I'm not a gun nut, enthusiast, etc. I don't like them, but I'm also a man of common sense. An inanimate object cannot harm, maim or kill a person. It has no ability to do so, it's all in how it's controlled by the person pulling the trigger.

It's true that the gun becomes a dangerous extension of the person using it, therefore I can agree that guns are dangerous, but the people are the problem. Fix the people, and we'll fix the world.

Since it can't be done, we'll just have to live our lives to the best of our abilities.

BTW...I'd venture a guess that 99% of those "thugs 4 lyfe" have stolen weapons with the serials filed clean off. Stolen from someone who actually paid for it, went through the rigmarole, has no criminal record, etc...

Doesn't seem fair does it? Gun control is fine, but control the correct problem.

I went ahead and told him about him running the plates, pulling us over, etc, and he explained that because the car was a West Virginia car with plates, that it needed to be stopped in case of drug trafficking, or even guns. I asked about the light thing and the officer said "That was his way of getting out of trouble. He had no real justifiable reason to pull you over. You were operating the vehicle within normal parameters and eventhough you didn't have the insurance card, he realized it wasn't worth the trouble you could've brought to him over this. Again, I apologize."

You know why he pulled me over? He wanted to try and bust us for the biggin's and he failed. He's succeeded before in these busts, and you know why? (Proven fact) these "thugs" (TRY LIVIN' THE LIFE I LIVED! BEYOTCH! or whatever dumb sh*t you can come up with.) these thugs come across the border from Ohio via Youngstown, and it's transferred to other cars, which are then taken to West Virginia, and vice versa. This is why WV has a massive FBI substation in Clarksburg/Bridgeport WV. Most, if not all of the suspects caught in this are minorities.

Yet proving they choose to live the thug life and commit crime, and by doing so, they f*cking ruin it for the rest of us.

Takeing guns away from law-abiding citizens like myself only allows evil to flourish without something to counter it. What I mean to say is the police cannot be EVERYWHERE all the time, so concealed-carry is a great deterrent for those thinking they are living the "thug life", when in all actuality, they will be living the "dead life".

Heh, funny you should mention that. A local man went to prison for 6 years because he was a gunsmith/machinist/militia guy. He was busted making his own AK-47s, UZIs, and other machine/submachine guns. Also had a broadcast station for militia radio.

He was faithful to the very end, he never gave the feds a single name about his customers. (They wanted 'em bad.) He'll be out in 2009 iirc...

NOTE: I do not condone, defend, stand for, or even remotely agree with what this guy did. I think it's pretty f*cked up actually.

On the subject of guns themselves:

Guns are harmless, inanimate objects. People are the dangerous creatures, and while we don't need weapons, we shouldn't be without them, because how the hell do we defend ourselves when someone breaks in, or tries to mug us, carjack, etc? No protection whatsoever? Smooth move, that makes you a walking bullseye painted in bright neon colors. At least carry Mace if nothing else.

For example, the guns you see sitting in the glass cases at Wal-Mart...do they open the case, jump down off of their rack , load themselves and then go on a killing spree? Nope.

The people do that. A car is a deadly weapon, we've seen vehicular homicide, etc. However, sitting in a dealership, it's harmless. It just sits there, on display, waiting to either be sold, or sent off to some poor man's auto auction.

Because it has the potential to kill...should a car be taken from the public? (Some would say yes...especially tree hugging hippies.)

I'm not a gun nut, enthusiast, etc. I don't like them, but I'm also a man of common sense. An inanimate object cannot harm, maim or kill a person. It has no ability to do so, it's all in how it's controlled by the person pulling the trigger.

It's true that the gun becomes a dangerous extension of the person using it, therefore I can agree that guns are dangerous, but the people are the problem. Fix the people, and we'll fix the world.

Since it can't be done, we'll just have to live our lives to the best of our abilities.

BTW...I'd venture a guess that 99% of those "thugs 4 lyfe" have stolen weapons with the serials filed clean off. Stolen from someone who actually paid for it, went through the rigmarole, has no criminal record, etc...

Anyway. Regarding guns. They are indeed inanimate objects (luckily) but they are not harmless. They are designed exclusively for the purpose of killing. To compare them to cars is somewhat... off...

I'm not bothered at all with people owning hunting rifles or a pistol or anything along those lines. As long as they have a license! I would, however, deem functioning automatics and to an extent semi-automatics as over the top.


Criminals will pretty much always have access to firearms that are one step above what the average citizen has access to. Here in Sweden not a lot of people own weapons. Even in the rough neighbourhoods of large cities the common pistol does not live up to its denomination. Knives, bats and various other blunt implements are far more accessable to the average thug. The ones who do possess firearms are invariably of the professional variety and tend to skip directly to automatics.

Sure, we've gotten the occassional loony, but most of the time they just have a knife. Something like Columbine etc would be highly unlikely to happen here because firearms just are not easy to find. I don't think I've ever seen a dedicated gun shop.

So, yeah... Over here we have little in the way of an armed population (certainly not the kind of gun cult that is so famous in the US, an NRA would be even more controversial here) and our crime rates aren't appreciably worse than a lot of other countries. We're not living in a police state either.

I'm from Germany, where owning a handgun is far from the norm and usually illegal. And guess what - The crime rate is not any higher than in the USA, and people don't feel any less secure in their own homes, either.

As for gang culture... it got here via MTV.

As far as guns go.... Nine out of ten times the Guns used in crimes are illegal anyways. I'm a legal gun owner and I will be getting my CCW permit soon so I can carry a gun on my person or in my car at all times.

No, it wouldn't. Relying on the cops solely to protect you is not only fool hardy but extremely dangerous. Fun fact: If the population don't have access to guns, the likelihood that you have to use one yourself lessens to a minischule degree. Gun crime in Britain is tiny and is used for the most part in gang warfare who have managed to buy guns on the black market from America. Isn't it funny how the British, or the French, or the Dutch, don't feel the need to cry out for guns in order to protect our homes? We don't need them.

You do not need a gun to protect yourself. According to your logic of 'the police alone cannot protect you', most European nations would be crime-ridden with little or no state control by now. It's simply not the case, and I feel a hell of a lot safer knowing that not one of Tom, Dick and Harry on my street is packing a gun. Because if they did, I'd want a gun myself... and so it escalates. It's a ridiculous notion.
