CGI robots, but not Transformers.

I found this on fazed.org and I thought it was pretty cool. It's just mechs fighting (Nevermind the Nazi stuff in the beginning. It just goes along with the story), but it would be a good representation of G1 TF's as actual movie characters. They are boxy and pretty cool. Here ya go!

As awesome as that movie was. If the Transformers moved like that, I would be bored to tears.
Those robots worked in that film, because all they did was walk, fight and shoot, no real personalities to em.
If the Transformers for the movie had used blocky models, when you think about it, they wouldn't have been able to do some things, such as put their arms infront of their chests, the articulation on a blocky bot just doesn't allow for a full range of movement like the design of a human.
With the movie designs, as terrible as some may seem, from an animation point they accomplish a more human feel with robots. They're proportioned less like a brick and more like a person, or in Starscreams case, an ape. It works a lot better for animating than a blocky design would.

I agree with you. I actually like the movie bots, but there will always be a place for blocky bots. This movie was also entirely CGI, so the bots didn't have to be perfect because nothing was.

Oh man that was awesome and hilarious at the same time! It reminded me of something that would happen in Crimson Skies for the Xbox.

Interesting short but doesn't wouldn't suit the movie at all, unless we are making a CGI version of the Iron Giant.
The movie bots look cool and they have grown on me, there ultra complex designs will look awesome in motion IMO. Bay is obsessed with make stuff look 'cool' so I have no doubt the TF's will rock in the film. Can't say the same for the human characters but oh well, can't get it all right;)

Great concept and script. I just had a hard time accepting that the Nazis got this huge ass robot, and we didn't have an Optimusesque answer to combat it.
Maybe thats just the Marine in me talking.

If you watched the whole thing, there was an American answer to it. Then a Japanese answer to ours. (the Japanese version was suited up like a Samurai and was freakin Sweet!)

Oh, now I see. I wonder why the heck would they wait so long to call it out? And the ending was a little strange. But good.
Kinda like a Rockem Sockem/ UFC/ Medal of Honor type thing. Sorta.
