A while back I saw a clip of 2007 Optimus Prime Transforming.

What made this movie different was that he was in his "blocky" design rather than the "alien" design that we now know him to be in.

The description was that ILM attempted to create the Transformers (for the 2007 movie) as we knew it ("blocky" G1 design) but after several tests, they deemed it too unrealistic and cheesy.

My question is, does anyone have this clip I'm talking about?

The Prime wasn't fully rendered and IIRC, it was completely red.

Now, truth be told, this could all be just a hoax, and the clip could have just been made by a fan, but that's besides the point.

You're talking about that short video clip of a very rough animatic looking version of Prime that only showed his transformation from the waist up...correct?

Awwww. Yeah I'm pretty sure it only showed him from the waist up. Like I said, he wasn't completely rendered. He had no details and was completely red. Ah well.

I'm still looking, but if I find it, I'll post it here.

I remember the one you were talking about. Although it was later found out that it was a fan project. The front grill sorta rolled back underneath the windows as the arms folded out of the area right behind the grill.

like i said, fake.

well, i doubt its intended to be passed off as real, its just a badly done amateur experiement at how a peterbilt might transform into g1 prime. it has nothing to do with the movie
