And the eye candy is fantastic too. I won't jump into spoiler discussion, there is another thread about the movie where those are being dicussed, but it is worth it for you guys to check out.
I’ll wait for the DVD like with the Transformers movies. Guess it can’t be too bad.
So I pop into Wal-Mart today to get groceries with my mother. Of course while I’m there I check the toy isle and saw the usual stuff, but then I found, nestled tightly between the pegs some later wave figures! Flash, an Eel, Crimson Neo-Viper, PIT Commando, and an Elite Viper. So there I sit in the isle, by myself saying ”yes, yes, yes, yes, yes…” only to then realize I have about sixteen bucks… I know I must’ve looked insane.
So anyway, I picked up a PIT Commando and Elite Viper, here are my thoughts:
Elite Viper
This one is really nice. He comes with an backpack, axe, pistol, two machine guns, and an missile launcher.
His head is nice, but a little hard to make out the details on. The colors and paint are really nice though, I liked the dry brushed silver paint on his vest and a few other spots. He’s mostly a dark blue, so he’ll look good leading my Vipers me thinks.
His articulation is unhindered. He does reuse the Viper (commando) torso, but his legs are smaller so he can sit right. Arms bend good, so he can hold his gun correctly too.
I’m a little unsure why he would need an axe, but it’s pretty cool. It stores in his backpack too, so he can be equipped with most of his gear at one time. He looks cool when he has both his machine guns out, a little double action there. I don’t think many Joes have come with two of the same gun like this before, so I appreciate it with this figure. His missile launcher is the same one included with the Viper Commando, though, I doubt anyone cares about that.
Having got the PIT Commando with him today, it seemed like he wasn’t as much bang for your buck, but seeing as he’s less of a repaint I think he’s pretty good. I’d like a few more myself.
PIT Commando
This figure is odd but I like him. He comes with a load of gear, and is a cheap alternative to get Dusty if you passed on DVD pack #4 (or was it #3? Oh well, the one with Serpentor ).
The figure itself is entirely Dusty, only now in urban colors. This means everything that sucked about Dusty sucks here too, whereas everything that was awesome about Dusty is awesome here as well. My only real beef is that he can’t hold his riffle correctly, and I have another skirt that doesn’t seem to want to stay buttoned.
I like the paint scheme on him. Like most of the Joes in the line, he’s mostly grey, but there’s detailed camo all over him.
Gear is the main attraction here really. Four helmets, two different vests, four guns, backpack, and shield. I was a little disappointed to find out his riffle is softer than his other weapons, which just seemed kind of odd. I also wish you didn’t need to pop off his head to change vests, but otherwise his gear is awesome. It’s fun to tinker with all the possibilities it gives him.
I’d recommend this figure for the sheer amount of gear alone. Very happy with my little score today.
So, really how is the pitt commando? I've heard about awesome figures before only to find them to be not as awesome, like the time I had a three way with Krista Allen and Jenna Jameson. On paper it looked good but in the end didn't click.
