Only in color, though it would explain the green. Mind you, the RiD toy is Grimlock in name only, and shall remain as such. To me, he'll be Build Hurricane (after the Car Robots original), not Grimlock... once I manage to get him [-(
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

They both have some pretty poor hands. At least the version pictured.

Also, does anyone else feel like their looking at an advertisement for the Hub when they see the insignia on the new Rid figures? Something about it is just...weird to me.

If you mean the ring around the :BOT:, that's for the App. My guess is it functions similarly to a QR-Code.

There's an app? Must have missed that part of the info known thus far, but it's not really of much consequence to me. I have a very unintelligent tracfone, and I barely turn it on anyway.

I think it only works with the symbol found on the box, not on the toy.

An app?A creative idea to use symbols on boxes.Oh,I am weirded out by this RID Grimlock.Image
Notice the asymmetry on his legs? Both Tyrannosaur arms hang on the right leg and make it look weird. The left leg is better.

Actually, I LOVED that asymetry the moment they showed that prototype pic. It would be another grimlock where the feet are not formed by the tail (unlike G1, Masterpiece, Animated, AOE Voyager and Generations). I would have preferred the jaws to make the feet though. That aside, its too bad that its only a 3 step changer and not a more complex figure. There doesnt seem to ba any articulation on the arms (dinosaur legs) and thats really too bad.

Same here.I prefer jaws for feet not a tail formed by the feet.We all know how FOC Voyager Grimlock's dinosaur mode turned out.

I was going to post how I'm planning on getting the Legion version of Grimlock, because I'm biased towards Legion's, I like the symmetry and the mouth plate and proper hands:

Image

Then I looked a little closer, and noticed a similarity:

Image

Dude could totally be Rippersnapper's brother. Heck, it would make perfect sense for him to be a Predacon clone that jumped ship. Make it a reality Hasbro!

Also, to come full circle the mold is Grimlock twice:

Image

Didn't post the other one cause it's not that different, and both pics have the alt. mode mis-transformed. But yeah, here's hoping this wasn't an accident.

That was noticed right away in the actual RID 2015 toy thread. This thread was more for the tongue and cheek joke that there are now 2 Green RID Grimlocks seperated by over ten years.

Wait, RID 2001 is an excavator? I thought it was a T-Rex too:

The "ring code" on the packaging earns you some in-game currency, the code on the actual figure unlocks that character to use in-game for about a day, then you have to scan it again the next day. Warrior Grimlock figure unlocks Warrior Grimlock in-game character, same for legion, etc. They seem to be adding in-game characters as the figures get released.
Easy cheat: You don't have to have the figure, a decent picture or video still of the "ring code" on another device/screen is scan-able also.

I like both RiD Grimlock's robot modes. The original (2001?) can be posed kind of like a scorpion in robot mode. The 2015 looks much better in robot mode than dino, except for the non-pose-able elbows due to defective joints on many.
Don't get butthurt when you get called out for expressing closed/small/narrow minded opinions. Educate yourself and form a better opinion.

Yyyeeeeeeeeep

Think the reason RID2015 Grimlock is green colored. Was to homage and replace the big dumb guy green colored autobot role. That Bulkhead had in the Animated and TF Prime cartoons.

He lies somewhere in between TFA Bulkhead and G1 Grimlock. Tough, generally good natured, and dumb as a post.

Prime Bulkhead was a big tough guy, but not a big DUMB tough guy.
