My dad's house (used to be my grandpa's) the piano plays itself, I hear people speaking french late at night, my dad's seen people in 18th century clothing in the woods , and his dogs spazz and bark & growl at walls sometimes, it used to be on Burgoyne's trail in the french indian war, my grandpa would always find musket balls in the woods behind the house

I been into the paranormal since 5th grade, and have read alot of books and go to haunted places trying to get pictures or EVP's I try to go about it scientifically, usually try to make sure it's not car headlights or anything normal being mistaken for abnormal, not as well equipt as TAPS or anything, but I have some equiptment, (camreas, recorders and an EMF, looking to get an inexpensive thermal scanner next) Alot of the places I've gone too haven't really convinced me they're haunted, aside from my dad's, there's only been 2 places where I'd be convinced. also have interest in cryptozoology, the occult, UFO's, and fortian phenomena (wierd stuff that doesn't fit any category, like raw meat raining from the sky)I been into this stuff since 5th grade, am 28 now, and i still won't claim to be an expert in any of it.

Place: Town of Red House, NY. Inside of the Alleghany State Park for anyone who has no idea where the smallest town by population is.

At least I like piano music.

I was in my mothers house, pet sitting while they were on vacation somewhere. It's about 10 at night, the neighbors down the road went to bed hours ago. I'm on the computer, browsing around here when I start to hear some piano music coming from an unfinished room. I thought it might have been something on the computer so I turned off the speakers. Still played. Only last about 30 seconds but it started playing longer each time I heard it. First it was just at night but then I started hearing it about 5am too.

Ghost Train.

I'm sitting in the little offshoot of the living room, reading a book in front of some big windows. It's the one place in the house where the wind doesn't blow in the house after it comes off of the mountain out back. (allergies) Suddenly it gets very cold and the wind changes direction 90 degrees. The valley doesn't let the wind blow that way. Strange. Well then I hear a quite noise. I was thinking train but there aren't train lines anywhere around at all. But the sound got louder. Suddenly the wind picked up fast and hard in the new direction. Most people know what it feels like to have a semi truck pass in front or by them. That rush of air and the train sound went right in from of me and started to trail off. Not 10 seconds later, the wind went back to normal as if nothing happened.

Bad tape, very bad tape.

I thought nothing of it at first. A roll of masking tape was sitting on top of a craft hat if the back room of the same house. A few minutes later it suddenly hit me that I was the last one to use the tape and I put it back in it's place in the kitchen drawer. Completely the other side of the house. The place was locked up tight, I had the only set of keys within maybe 200 miles. Somehow it made it's way out of the drawer, through the kitchen, dining room, living room, through the door to the back room and landed ontop on the hat.

They told us some pretty good ghost stories though.
They've said they get mostly encounters of classes 2-4 and sometimes 5 with a dash of 1 thrown in.

Wow, a thread right up my alley. So my question is for the resident psychic, whats yer strongest gift? Clairvoyance, Mediumship, Empathy, etc...(just a few in that spectrum) & as far as spook questions, I think I can help with some of those too. I have a lil bit of experience in that department ;)

Was that ment for me?
Well even if it wasnt ......eh, gosh i wouldnt classify things like that, but prob empathy. I am really good with feelings, getting inside others heads, etc.

To make proper use of this i use the Tarot and Dream Interptiation, ammoung other things such as rune stones, palmistry, etc.

I gotta say, the Runes work. Theres something about the Norse stuff that seems to have a greater effect.

I was doing a Norse ritual for easter with some friends, I wanted to see what the rituals were like, it was pretty sweet, anyway, there was some guy there one of the uppity Christians, he was nice enough to show up, but had one of those "this is stupid, i don't know why i'm here" kinda things going.

Anywho, I get to read the Odin bits, right when I say "hail Odin" the dude blacks out.

Funniest thing I ever saw.

hmm i cant say that i have found that, i have tried out a good few differnt rune lores, Celtic/Norse/Jewish (old herbrew is close enough to count) and i have alsway found my cards far more effective.

Although i got much more of a connection with them, it would be nice to work on creating my own rune set.

it depends on the person as to which is more effective. You have to have a connection with what you are working with. & Generally, if you use runes, the most effective set is also the ones that you've made yourself.

GrimSqueaker, what Tarot Deck do you read with? I don't use decks much. I've never found a deck that I just "clicked" with. Empathy is...interesting at times

Yeah, if you use Runes, best to make em yourself, wood is the easiest to whip up. Mix a bit of your own blood into the paint for the runes, seems to help a lot as well.

i use an old traditional Itilian deck-there is nothing special about it, its just the one i learned with.

I also use a Lusis Rio art deck, but that just a back up-i try not to use it

So, awesome news. I've been asked back on October 25th to speak to a group on ghosts, ghost hunting, and paranormal occurrences.

So that rocks ass. This will be my second year speaking to them.

Well, I never said my house was haunted. I've seen things in it, things I can't explain through any normal means, but that doesn't make a house haunted.

My house may have activity, but it's few and far between, I've lived here for 3 years now, and only seen two things.

Activity in the house isn't what it used to be, for one reason or another, I don't know.

You can't, based on a couple experiences just say "oh, this house is haunted."

Gotta say I'm impressed that this thread hasn't devolved into total suck. Like that other one. Some of you know the one I mean, way back.

Aside from the clearly "not a ghost" moments - like my little sister blaming a ghost for what she did once - I've scared the **** out of myself for no real reason, but no legitimate activity.

But I swear, I could, and maybe still can, get looped into having the most bizarre and illogical fears when I was little. You know, the "strange" creaks in the hallways (old house, wooden floorboards, you get the idea), door left ajar opening, that good stuff.

I think I remember that thread.

Anyway, yeah, the mind is a wonderful thing. One thing you hear turns your brain onto alert mode, then you start hearing and paying attention to every little thing going on.

Happens to me when the power goes out. I start paying attention to every little noise, as a side effect, when the power is out, I can't get to sleep at all. Since my room is in the middle of two others, what sounds like something is in one room, is actually going on in another. So huzzah for paranoia and tricks of the mind.

I agree with hugo, not weatherman shocky and the volunteer penguins. houses aren't just "oh look an unexplained noise. the house is haunted." shocky sometimes does that.

At the end of my hallway, I occasionally see a mirror. It's usually an oval mirror with an ornate golden frame. Only there is no mirror there. I've never had such a mirror, nor can I recall ever seeing such a mirror. As soon as I notice that it is there, then it isn't.

Is something going on? Maybe. Am I crazy? Probably. But I swear there is a phantom mirror in my house.

It was bothering me so much that I bought that new G1 Transformers poster, framed it, and had it hung where I kept seeing that mirror. That seems to have fixed it.
