Just throwing this out there, even though I plan to do it too, but "wait & see" still means that wether you think the movie is worth watching or an abomination to the TF franchise after you've seen it you're still going to pay them (Bay & such) for their efforts, which will send them the message that their efforts were successful & profitable, & they will more than likely make more of a slopped-together PS3-style "people love our stuff so we can do whatever the hell we want & they'll still buy it" sequel rather than be more careful with how they handle the source material & try to make it appeal more to the fans of the franchise....provided that they don't drop the idea for a sequel based on poor sales of the first one after it's out.Cyber Bishop wrote:Predaprince wrote:Perhaps that is why I don't know what to think of or say to this right now.

I look at it this way. If it does suck people are gonna know about it even before it's open to the public. Private screenings, reviews and leaked copies will be out before you ever have to spend a penny at the theater. And if for some reason that doesn't happen, you can wait for the first wave of people to see it and gauge their reactions. That's what I do with movies I'm not sure about.

I was really gunning for Welker, but I suppose I can deal w/this. I did like Elrond & what's-his-face from V For Vendetta. Still, I really wanted Welker................but at least we have Cullen.

You're making an assumption there. Wait and see might mean that I am going to wait til a week or two weeks til it is out and then see from what total info we have then if I'll pay in the theaters or do more waiting.
Please don't assume what I might, hypothetically, be doing in a couple of months. Even I don't completely know of that right now.

Actually, I was referring more to Cyber Bishop's comment about waiting untill he's seen the movie to judge it. it was just easier to type "wait & see", since that was what he basically said, too. I guess you guys just had different things you were waiting to see about.....you being people's reactions when it comes out, & CB how good the movie is after he's watched it.Predaprince wrote:Nemesis Cyberplex wrote:Just throwing this out there, even though I plan to do it too, but "wait & see" still means that wether you think the movie is worth watching or an abomination to the TF franchise after you've seen it you're still going to pay them (Bay & such) for their efforts, which will send them the message that their efforts were successful & profitable, & they will more than likely make more of a slopped-together PS3-style "people love our stuff so we can do whatever the hell we want & they'll still buy it" sequel rather than be more careful with how they handle the source material & try to make it appeal more to the fans of the franchise....provided that they don't drop the idea for a sequel based on poor sales of the first one after it's out.Cyber Bishop wrote:Predaprince wrote:Perhaps that is why I don't know what to think of or say to this right now.

Hey I like just about everything in the movie so far. I wanted Kay, not Welker. I just can't stand Weaving. I've loathed everything he's been in so far, especially the Matrix movies, man were they horrible.
I was actually a Kaye / Chalk supporter as well, though I wasn't going to complain about Welker / Cullen. I hope that Welker gets to do a few of the other roles at least. It would still be nice to have him be a part of this, even if he's not Megatron.
Here's my current theory about the voice actors right now ... Welker was too expensive to do have someone that wasn't a major actor to do a major character in this movie. Rather than having Welker do the voice of Megatron, they decided that they could save money by having Welker do several of the other voices (maybe Starscream, Ratchet, Barricade, etc) which would free up money to have recognizable voices to do some of the more major Transformers roles. Now that they don't have to pay big bucks to actors like Hugo Weaving or possibly Will Smith for smaller parts that aren't worth those actors time, now they'll have more money to offer those actors for roles that have more screen time.
If my theory doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll be happy to word it differently or explain it better.
The more people that I talk to on the phone about this today, the more I listen to "V" and "Agent Smith" in the movies running in the background while I'm working on the galleries and the more I think about this casting ... the more I think I'm really pleased with this choice. It's going to be a different kind of Megatron, but we already knew that it was going to be.

If anyone can pull off a psychopathic, destructive, raving mad and power hungry leader of an intergalactic transorming team of robots (other than Mr. Welker) it would be Hugo Weaving. Not bad...I wonder if Will Smith will really get that role as Jazz.

I'm not bouncing-off-the-walls excited as I would've been with Welker, but I'm not shuddering in revulsion, either, which is definitely a bonus for something filmverse!Megatron-related.
In the wrong hands...

Surprising choice, but a very, very nice one... Weaving's harsh, humorless screen persona will suit Megatron well. Plus some additonal star power won't hurt ticket sales, and it's nice to see the star power having TALENT this time...
It could have been worse. It could have been leonard Nimoy.

Personally, this works for me just fine. This "Megatron" bears absolutely no resemblance between the Megatron that I know, so I see no reason why he/it shouldn't haven't a different voice. Optimus Prime at least somewhat resembles Optimus Prime, so Cullen's voice works in this respect.
Now, let's wait and see what sort of mashups end up happening after this movie, as there's a lot of Cullen & Weaving dialogue bits from other movies to choose from... hehehe...

People should be happy. I would not have wanted to see Welker's voice coming out of that piece of entangled metal garbage being called Megatron.

I'd recommend Priscilla if you can see it, gives a better idea of how much of a good actor he is, even though it might give you thwe same thoughts as me XPSeibertron wrote:I've been watching V for Vendetta since this news broke. I'll stand by this:
They should have got whoever did the Xeno sounds from the Aliens movies, it is not humanoid enough to speak imo, if that is Mr Welker who did those sounds, yeah... ^_^?

DAMN YOU NEWS, MEGS IS NOW A CROSSDRESSER HOMOSEXUAL IN MY MIND! >_? That is low, realy low. It's a franchise movie, they all suck, EVERY ONE OF THEM.
