That's one of the reasons I don't follow the bible literally, because I wouldn't be able to eat pork, or mix dairy and beef, so no lasanga. Screw that!!

No, it is not cruel.

So long as you show mercy and make the death as fast as possible: ex: beheading, neck snap, etc.

Burning alive, drowning, skinning alive, all very cruel and unnecessary.

Eating meat is good and good for you. Animals are cruel to each other and eat each other. We're less cruel. Is cutting a cow's neck with an extremely sharp knife more or less humane than tearing it's throat out with our bare teeth?

Vegans and Vegetarians are evil.

But those "I don't eat meat except for Fish and Chicken" are more stupid than evil, just like the good man Jack Dee said "I'm a non-smoker, except for cigarettes."

Animals eat each other. We're animals. So we help each other to feed on smaller animals. That just means we got manners.

1 cow feeds a family for months.

Take the equivalent amount of food required in crop form, take that whole area and count up the amount of vermin and insects killed to prevent crop destruction. Lesser of 2 evils = the cow.

At least in rocky areas. Sure, corn provides direct energy conversion and is great on the Plains, but just try and grow it around a place like the Canadian Shield.

No, they would be slaughtered one way or another. Either by having the "commercial farming and slaughtering" or by having everyone who wants meat outside with a gun.

I prefer to not have to worry about driving into the woods, applying bug repellant, climbing a stand at 3am to hunt for a few weeks worth of meat.

I think it a shame when I hear of how some of the farming is done and how chickens are kept in an area they can't move in but we are top of the food chain. As long as we don't make a species extinct I think we are alright. We probably have done that over the last hundred years but the last few decades have seen drastic improvement in the protection of animals.

I think animal testing for cosmetics and detergents is dispicible and should end.

When i am sitting down to a meal the last thing i am concerned about is how the thing died, or wither it knew it was gonna die. wither God wanted us to eat meat or not is also a point of no intrest. but i do thank him at meal times for providing such tasty meals as Cow, pig and lamb, not to forget that tasty meal of chicken.

My grandfather used to raise pigs when he lived with us. He built a pig pen in our back yard. Our neighbor used to come over and talk to the pig when no one was around. When the pig was finally slaughtered, he felt really sad and upset. If we had known about it, we probably would have offered him some of the feast. I'm sure the delicious pork roast would have helped to dry his tears.
