Re: JAZZ BACK FOR TF2?!!!
LOL I wasn't talking about the cartoon one. I was referring to the Live action one. sorry if I didn't make that clear in the previous post.

Re: JAZZ BACK FOR TF2?!!!
I would prefer Jazz back, rather then half of the others unused Autobots. I would like him to be brought back injured were he needs to stay in the Autobot base, then near the end of the movie make a appearance to help Optimus get past some Decepticons to get to Megatron. I think near the beginning is where it should happen where they have the shard, and the newer Decepticons attack the newly set up Autobot base, thus mid using the shard Rachet doesn't get to fully restore Jazz to his normal self.

lol...boy...i gotta say that after seeing most of these ideas for bringing jazz back i now understand why they pay proper writers to write scripts and not listen to the fans.

They did a better job than any fanboy could have.

Well, some of the "unofficial" leaked stories, and fan boy stories are more exciting.

There are way too many fanboys out there, some of which that might have actual writing talent, to make such a broad generalization.Burn wrote:They did a better job than any fanboy could have.

I agree.
I've seen some pretty good writings by nameless fanboys. Some of them much better than what Bay's boys can dish out.

After seeing most of the fanboy ideas for bringing jazz back not to mention ideas for the second movie i can insure that this broad generalization is indeed justified.

A small handfull of posters on the internet does not the entire fandom make. Not to mention, most of these ideas are not well thought out, just throwing out random ideas off the top of their heads.Sonray wrote:Nemesis Cyberplex wrote:There are way too many fanboys out there, some of which that might have actual writing talent, to make such a broad generalization.Burn wrote:They did a better job than any fanboy could have.

I just have a hard time buying the idea you guys are implying that in order to write well for TFs, you have to either despise the franchise or just have a passing interest.

Re: JAZZ BACK FOR TF2?!!!
So you are saying the writers for the movie hated transformers and that is why they made a script that worked perfectly for a live action big screen version of the franchise whilst paying great homage to the source material?
And what you are forgetting is that most of these fanboy scribblings are fundamentally flawed because of one thing: Fanboyism.
These guys will have transformers shaped like shoe boxes and words like "ba weep granna weep nini bong" being used in a live action movie, and that stuff JUST WONT WORK.
In order to write a good script for a new generation of transformers destined for the live action big screen we need open minds and new ideas, not recycled fanboy fantasies that should have stayed in the 80's.

I was going to say basically the same thing. Fanboys in general are not objective enough. They all have their favorite series that they will cater to.

Thank you for completely twisting things around and turning it into a flame bait while at the same time completely misinterpretting things.
Feel free to explain where you get the idea that we're saying writers have to despise the franchise. Because I don't see that being said anywhere.

Re: JAZZ BACK FOR TF2?!!!
Well, obviously, from your post, a fan would lack the capacity to write forth a crap, because as you said:
Unless there is some major difference in a fan & a fanboy that you would care to elaborate on.
Oh, & how is the above quote not flame bait itself?? Pot calling the kettle black, it is not?

But at what point did anyone say you had to despise the franchise to be a writer?
I don't see how you come to that conclusion and do see it as flame baiting.
And yes, I don't believe a fan could write a decent TF movie. Why? Because fans seem unable to grasp the concept of originality. The majority of kitbashes, fanfics, drawings etc seem to revolve around pre-existing characters.
How many fans would be capable of writing a story that would appeal to the MASSES and be a fresh take on Transformers and not some rehashing of a previous series?
Sorry, but I don't see there being that many people capable of doing that. That's just how this fandom works. We're all too stuck in the past fapping away over our favourite characters.

Re: JAZZ BACK FOR TF2?!!!
Just to digress a little....theres a big difference between a fan and a fanboy.
I thought that fans could accept change with open arms. Fans love more than just one universe or incarnation of something, whilst fanboys are unable to and despise change and want everything to either be a G1 remake or constantly be based off of existing universes thus simply wanting everything to be updated or recycled old ideas.

Anybody can write good.
But not everybody can be lucky enough to be plucked out of obscurity, and put on the pedestal.
It takes both skills and luck.
