Is it just me or was his death underdramatic. I mean megs blasts him and rips his spark out. Nothing more to, no remark or anything.

I believe the scene goes something like..

Everyone launches into battle, and his first target (as everyone else is preoccupied) is Megatron. He's frantically bashing at the guys head, and says something dumb like "You wanna piece of me?" to which Megs replies "No, I just want you in pieces" or something similar. And he whips Jazz off his back and tears him in half.

Now apparently the guy gets no development so that he wont be missed by the kiddies (no repeat of 1986). It's quick, brutal. He's the red-shirt in the this one. We gotta leave behind his G1 incarnation and our opinions of him because they don't apply here. He's a new character, and he's pretty faceless as a new character, so, as a new character, he's nothing special. Doesn't, perhaps, deserve dramatics.

Could you please change the title of your thread to avoid spoilers?

Something more like 'Regarding Jazz (Spoilers)', something that doesn't actually state what happens in the film.

Thanks Skowl. I could pretty much deduce what was going to happen, but there are some of us who haven't read the script and are going to try and avoid anymore spoilerific info. I'd just as soon not know anything more about the movie till I see it.

Yeah, bad title. And spelled wrong too. Makes it even worse. The irony of it all is the title itself is a spoiler, what's the point in typo-ing "spoiler" in the title anyways

but since its been spoiled...ouch, that sounds nasty

What I don't get is why they picked jazz to die. with his love of earth culture thing I think he would have been a good one to develop in the sequels. You know to help new fans relate to the giant f'ing robots.

Perhaps Jazz will come back. Who knows, the Allspark has powers beyond our childish imaginations

But Bumblebee is the Human-Relations character, not Jazz. Think about it, Jazz being the one who Spike goes out and buys? Doesn't fit. And besides, it's more fun to watch Bumblebee get used to earth culture, than to have a character who knows all about it.

We've seen in the Trailers Bumblebee following Spike on a path (with spike on his mothers bicycle). Now Jazz wouldn't do that because he knows what a sidewalk is. So it's more humourous to have those inexperienced sticking around. And with Jazz, why would they want to have anything to do with Spike or Mikaela (other than for the glasses)? They could just ask Jazz about earth culture. It's all about the role each character fulfils (as characters in a movie), and as it stands, Bumblebee can do all that Jazz can, plus he's the human relations character from G1, so he gets to stick around.

Also, Jazz is at the $10/£10 price point whereas say Ratchet and Ironhide are at the £20/$20 price point, and Hasbro don't need people to not-buy the Voyagers because one of them dies.

Bumblebee gets his legs torn off somehow in this (hence Mikaela driving him around on the back of a tow truck). How come he lives but Jazz snuffs it? In the synopsis given on this site, there wasn't a mention of his spark being consumed by Megatron so surely he can still be alive without his legs? And even if he was torn apart at the abdomen, I think he'd still have a shot. Guess the writers were just playing favourites.

Sounds like Brawn getting taken down by a single shot to the shoulder, huh? Doesn't make any sense

Here is an interesting thought. BB gets blown in half and survives, so why doesn't Jazz survive getting torn in half too?

sorry. i should have said, "its not like most of us didnt know before." that way its not everyone. i know some people didn't know, but that is a kind of risk you take when coming on a big forum when the movie has been seen by some people.

but i wanna know the same. he should be able to survive, and dont they all have crazy healing abilities? *Guessing SPOILERS * Frenzy gets cut in half and then reforms or something right? so if that's true, then why cant BB and Jazz after they get blown/torn apart?
