Is that paint?!
I mean I remember my kabaya fort max has only stickers for details, but it does look like powerglide has blue eyes and Max has a painted face!
I wanna see more!

Don't get too excited. By nature model kits come completely bare, no paint, no stickers. Any paint is added on by the buyer and is no part of the set itself.

The Master Sword is definitely factory painted with additional black, you can see it on the box as well while the original was just solid red. same with Powerglide's black cockpit so it does appear that some parts have been painted this time around.

A Ton of In Hand Images of a Completed 2016 Kabaya Transformers DX Fortress Maximus
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
Our Japanese correspondent, Matt, had found and built one third of Kabaya's Fortress Maximus Metallic Version. Well, he went back to get the rest and built him so that you could see the full figure. He also compared it to the Combiner Wars Kabaya kit. This kit is available at most online Transformers retailers which also stock imports.
The photos sent to us include:
Command Base with Fortress
Fort Max's head
A showcase of nice metallic green paint
Launch Base with Charger
Working ramp lever
City Mode
Base Mode
Fortress Maximus
Size comparison

Block Wars, not Combiner Wars
It's actually pretty cute how Kabaya had to split him in three sets, yet managed to make self-sustained sets out of the parts, and not going like "Fortress Maximus A", "B" and "C". Brownie points for that.

Re: Kabaya Gum Plus Transformers DX Fortress Maximus Series In-Hand Images
This is definitely improved from the last version. The painted face looks nice, and I like the inclusion of the green. His sticker art is even a little different.
I wonder, does somebody know if the cartoon depiction of fort max had green or not? Because just going off of the difference in the horn stickers, I'm thinking this might be a "toy accurate version," retroactively dubbing the last version as a "cartoon accurate" one...

Honestly, get either kit if you like Fort Max. I had a lot of fun putting together these kits, then putting together Fort Max.

Side/related question: Is there a good site or sites to get Transformers kits like the Kabaya or Arms Micron ones? Other than Big Bad Toy Store, I already shop there.

Comparison Images Between Both Kabaya Gum Plus Transformers DX Fortress Maximus Releases
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
2016 seems to be the year for Fortress Maximus. Not only are we getting a massive update to the G1 toy but Kabaya also rereleased their model kit in a nice new metallic deco. For many new fans, this is their first chance at getting this model kit (which is still widely available online) and for older fans, it gives them what I find to be a great improvement over the original. I have taken images and compared them to the stock images of the original to give everyone the best idea of what this rerelease entails.
For those who have never had a taste with Kabaya products, these are model kits on sprues which do not need any glue. While many usually end up being partformers, this Fortress Maximus transforms just like the original and has no partforming whatsoever.
As you will see with the images below, the only difference (aside from the fact that I transformed him correctly in city mode) is the deco. The blue and grey is darker with metallic swirls, which is similar to the plastic found on recent Transformers toys. The stickers are also metallic. Also, and this is a big deal for Kabaya kits, this one includes paint. This paint allows for more colour, such as dark metallic green which better represents the colour found on the original G1 toy. The face of Fortress Maximus and his horns are also painted. You still have the option to use the original stickers, which are also included, but why one would want to place those over the already painted surface is beyond me. One last things, for those who do not own any of these kits yet, they do include very bland gum and the instructions are found alongside the inner box. You can find more pictures of this set and its functionality here.

Re: Kabaya Gum Plus Transformers DX Fortress Maximus Series In-Hand Images
My Japanese friend's son put the foil sticker over the painted silver face/red eyes and I have no idea why. BTW, there IS some partsforming, but it's for Powerglide's arms only, I think. I reccomend gluing the torsos of both Powerglide and Swerve due to them popping off while moving the arms.

So the new one is toy-accurate while the first one was HM cartoon-accurate, yes?

More or less. The stickers are all metallic, so in Fortress Maximus' case, they are toy accurate, but in Windcharger's case, he gets some metallic red bling on his car mode.
(I previously wrote "Swerve" by accident, I think).
