You are describing how you wish to take pleasure in another living being's pain; that doesn't make you better, no matter how you look at it.

And I'd like to add to that: The solution to violence is not more violence. And even so, there are people in this world who do much worse than torture a cat, so you can't very well place cruel and unusual punishment as a punishment for animal abuse without looking at child abuse, murder, or any of a long, long list of much worse acts.

any word on the cat? did the humane society take it? i've heard nothing of it dying, so what happend with it?

I think one of Scatterlung's posts in this thread said that the cat is alive, and has been taken to a vet.

If you were to talk about the cyclical effect then I could agree.

He does something stupid, so we do something equally as stupid as a punishment. He understands that what he does, he gets back and applies that to everything. So to every person who wrongs him, he'd do back as such and then it just becomes a mess.

That's one problem. People are trying to justify violence, with their only excuse being that it's justice, ignoring the fact that it isn't, and that two wrongs do not make a right.

WOOT for the cat going to a new home!

On the whole justice issue, that is why we have the courts. Are they perfect, no. But they are a lot better than mob "justice".
