Okay so this issue is about a day old now but I'm gonna throw it out there to get some people as riled as me.

This is about animal abuse so for those easily... upset, by such material, well, skip the next paragraph.

So yesterday a lad on YouTube posted a video in which he, wearing a ski-mask to protect his identity, and his brother explored the nature of animal abuse by retrieving his pet cat Dusty by its neck (NOT its scruff) from the shower in which he'd been holding it and knocking it against a wall (repeatedly). He then proceeded to pummel the cat, slapping it, punching it and the like, while all the while the cat cries for help. He knocks it about a little more before his brother suggests they hold it under the running shower and after doing that, they leave it in the shower and the video ends. This goes on for over a minute.

Naturally YouTube took down the video and its mirrors, but it's still floating around.

I did eventually watch the video to form my own opinion and it is as I've described. Two lads abusing a cat for amusement.

But I'll just sate your appetite for justice:

Our friends at The Internet managed to somehow track down this kid to his hometown, and, despite the ski-mask, managed to correctly identify him. Furthermore, they found his phone number, parents phone numbers, his home address, his school, his parents work addresses, e-mail address, facebook, and so on. Needless to say, he's probably never recieved so many pizzas and deliveries of an even more unbelievable nature in his life.

He's been arrested, along with his brother, but released back to his parents and theres something going on with his lawyers now. Apparently its in the hands of the DA to decide what to do with him.

Personally I don't feel any punishment they dole out for the boys will be quite enough. But that's just me. I'd much rather know some random strangers recognised him on the street and beat the ever-loving crap out of him.

Blargh. So mad about this.

I agree with you scatterlung, someone needs to beat the living hell out of that little f*cker.

F**K ....torture him for atleast a week. And make sure all he eats is cat poo and mayo. Then beat him.

Damn. I have no words to describe my disgust for this kind of filth. And if it isn't bad enough that we have scum who do things like this, there are also people who defend their actions, saying crap like "it's just a cat, not a person, it's no big deal".

At least the two were caught this time.

My cat just had five beautiful kittens. Precious and adorable. I couldn't imagine someone attacking any of them.

This son of a bitch needs beaten severely. He deserves pain for what he did.

I came across the second of the two videos these boys made.

Just more of the same, this time with the addition of more ways of getting him wet.

It's really sad. Dusty is clearly miserable in both, lying totally flat on his stomach with his head down looking very submissive. He doesn't fight back or anything, the most he does is cry out.

I don't know about you but I don't know any boys around that age who do anything like this.

The father owns some large oil company, so you can imagine his lifestyle. The boy is probably spoilt and has probably always treated the cat like crap.

Incidently, I did hear that his mother promised to "Take his dirt bike away" as a punishment.

Kind of shocking to see people who think animal abuse should be met with cruel and unusual punishment...

Lock him in a mental institution...like, forever. Animal abuse isn't as much of a crime as, say, child abuse, or murder, but it is a sign that there may be much worse crimes to come, and is an indicator of potential psychological issues.

OK he deserves everything that comes to him - everything.
But at least Anon knows how to contact him.

My brother starts doing the same with my little dog, but at least he bites back and I'm always there to make my brother feel miserable if he hurts my dog.

Sad news is, psychologically speaking, if he's this unempathetic, this disconnected from reality, and this sadistic at that age, he stands a higher chance of becoming a serial killer than he does of being a productive member of society. Abuse of animals, no comprehension of the suffering of others, inability to gauge responsese of others (like, we were apparently supposed to find his video funny?)--classic budding psychopath. I imagine he probably bed wet, too, and has played around with arson.

Either way, though, this kid is pretty much ruined for life. A little beatdown justice won't do anything to improve him. But it would make a lot of feel a hell of a lot better.

He is ruined for life...not to mention a crappy infront of a camera actor. And you are right as for beatdown justice wont help him. But it would make me feel better. HA i would post it on youtube and have the same act as he did...but instead of water i would use Aircraft stripper on his fingers. Ouch!!!!

This thread is now about unleashing your inner psychopath.

Personally, I would love to see some very cruel things happen to this kid, and it's not because I'm secretly a repressed, violent person, it's because I'm an openly violent person, but I have the sense to keep that locked away. And I think its the same with a lot of people. This kid just didn't understand that very basic piece of social ettiquette.

I get there's the whole "Don't lower yourself to his level" thing but honestly, I'm a firm believer in "Do unto others...", in Karma, and in that if some stupid, stupid individual revels in the suffering of a defenseless.. anything, it'd make so many parties much happier to know some equally nasty things happened to him. Because, without generalising, these kinds of people don't learn. Phrases like 'How do you think they felt?' mean nothing to these kinds of people.

I am a passionate person though, and when something like this happens I am inclined to feel very aggressive. Thankfully I'm not a judge.

If he does end up in getting psychological help, I hope him a slow, laboured recovery.

I finally got up the nerve to watch the video in the OP. I almost threw up.

It's so hard not to hate those kids, but I'm trying to be better than that.

They're dangerous, and sooner or later their violence will turn from animals to humans. Lock them up like the animals they are and keep them under lock and key so they can't harm anyone.

I hope the cat continues to survive, and without permanent damage, and I hope the parents get a wake up call out of this one.

Those two kids are devoid of any soul. If there is one, it's charred and blackened like their hearts.

They disgust me.

EDIT: There are five precious newborn kittens in a box with their mother (my pet) sleeping right now. They're not even a week old yet and each one of them puts a smile on my face. I can't even imagine anyone would be so cruel as to hurt an animal such as this. If it was self defense against a lion, or something of that nature, then I could understand it, but to unleash your inner psychopath on a defenseless cat for no reason other than to enjoy it? ...words fail me.

I too want to be better than "An eye for an eye" but we're human too and we're allowed to be outraged. It's true, abusing these monsters will do nothing but continue the cycle and that does nothing for humanity, but it's so hard to strive for better when all you want to do is give them a dose of what they did to that cat.

Someone should at least scare the living hell out of them, bring them to the brink of sobbing messes and then let them wallow in their misery.

When I was a teenager, I was disrespectful and rude to my parents. We were in the car, and they told me to get out in the parking lot. They pulled away only 20 feet and it scared the crap out of me. They weren't going to leave me, but it was enough to snap something straight in my head. I stopped being a prick and learned my lesson. These kids need the same treatment, but something that will absolutely terrify them.

It's good to know Dusty is now at a vets and will remain there until these boys recieve their punishment. After that, there's going to be a torrent of people clammering to adopt the little guy.

At least you know now that whoever looks after him will absolutely show him the love he needs. You couldn't possibly look after this cat like he was any other knowing what he went through.

Judging by their reaction, the parents don't really seem to grasp the situation.

Oh but here's some lulz to brighten up the situation. While she hadn't signed on in a long, long time, the Glenn's mother Sandi had a myspace page, and her display picture was the I Can Has Cheezburgr cat.

I'd like to think that means she loved the cat enough to hate her son for what he did, but from "I'm taking his dirtbike away", it's hard to try to believe that.

Just out of curiosity, Shadowman, did you actually watch the video? It really is hard to keep your cool. Would explain peoples behaviour here.

While a part of me would very much like to see something horrible happen to the two boys responsible, Shadowman is right. Wishing harm upon Glenn doesn't help anyone. It would be one thing if someone were trying to stop him from acting, but vengence is another thing all together. The matter is now in the hands of the law, and we can only hope and pray that justice will be had. Whatsmore, the boy may be suffering from a genuine mental or emotionl disfunction. He does need to be locked away, either to get genuine help, or to keep him from reapeting his actions and hurting anyone or anything else.

I'm fairly sure it isn't his site, since all the info on it are things revealed after his came to fame. The two videos can be found here (and easily avoided). I'm fairly certain this isn't him, its written to make your blood boil, how he shurgs off the whole thing saying "we'll just get another cat".

Okay, first and formost, there is the whole question of the value of an animal's life vs the life of a human. Now, for me, they are close, but not quite the same. If I absolutly had to choose between a person or an animal, I'd choose the person, but I'd hate myself for letting the animal die. Hell, I brake for squirrles.
But regardless of that, no one has the right to harm someone else simply to take vengence. It may feel satisfying, but it makes you into a monseter just like the person that you hate, and it won't help matters.
