So his non-claw hand doesn't need to be pulled apart into two pieces, and the part that you remove placed on the opposite side of his spaceship mode for a symmetrical look?

And that's to say nothing of if you want to form his more G1-inspired alt mode, for which you need to yank off both of his forearms completely and combine them into a rocket, and then pull out his head to make a little tank.

Not a bad thing in this figure's case, but still sounds like parts forming to me!

Completely unnecessary in his transformation, guess it just depends on your preference.

That is not the official alt mode, just an unofficial mode they made allowances for as a nod to G1 :P

As I understand it, this is his official alt mode, yes?

Image

So, if your preference is to not fully transform him because, "OMG! Parts forming! Noooooooooo!" that doesn't change what the figure is supposed to do. I could take G1 Optimus and make him into a truck with fists if I really wanted to avoid parts forming. (I don't, because that'd be stupid. But I could.) If I'm happy with it, it isn't hurting anyone else... but that doesn't make it correct according to the design of the toy.

If by "they" you mean the company who produced this toy... Because it seems to me that the toy contains engineering in it that is completely unnecessary except to form this mode. Thus, it isn't just some fan made mode, but an officially intended one. The fact that it may not have been advertised or included in the instructions doesn't make it unofficial, rather it makes it an Easter egg. But a fully intended one. And it involves parts forming.

You don't have to use it yourself, but that doesn't stop it from existing.

Where's the alt modes?

While the robot mode looks great. I can't fully pass judgement on this toy until I see more, much more.

More than an alt mode, I'd like to see a prototype and spec information.

But isn't this slow trickle of information the norm for these products? Rarely do you get everything at once, or even in the first month. Machine Boy will release more information when they see fit.

Also take into consideration that a final product might not even be ready for at least 6 months. If MB released all this information today and we had to wait 6 months before getting it in our hands, people are still going to complain.

Patience, folks. I'm not looking forward to what the price of this guy might be. And some commenters probably won't be able to afford the product but they want information now...? :HEADHURTS:

I'm 100% aware of the usual 3rd Party timeline, and the slow, painful and sometimes awkward flow of information and updates.

That said, I wasn't demanding anything, just saying I'd like to see additional info. It's called expressing interest ;)

Right, and I understand expressing interest. And I think most of the people who've been on these boards for awhile are used to the "slow tease". The string of responses I quoted earlier... it just felt like unnecessary. Apologies if you took direct offense.

So, let me express my interest. The bot mode looks intimidating and SOLID! I'm guessing he'll be the same size as Energon/YotS Omega, but I wonder what's being done about the alt mode(s). The usual OS indicators are there (claw hand, blaster hand, pair of tracks on the back, tank head), so I don't think MB is going to take too many liberties. But what feature will really push possible consumers into pre-orders? It won't be LEDs for sure.
