Marvel Infinite Deaths' Head

Postby Duke of Luns » Wed May 27, 2015 3:43 pm

Hey guys, I picked up Marvel's Infinite Death's Head the other day. I'm sure I'm a bit behind the boat, but I thought I'd share some comparison pics for anyone wondering how well he scales, and a general overall review.

The first thing to note, as you can see in the first pic, is that he shares a lot of overall parts with Colossus(and someone else, judging by the holes in the front and back), right down to X logo on the belt(which is normally covered, I have the belt turned around so you can see it). However, there's enough new paint and parts to where you don't even notice that's an issue! As such his articulation is pretty much what you'd expect, though he' a bit top heavy and the cape is a little too long.

Next, how about those weapons? As evidenced in the second pic, they store inside the shield and on his back! And they do store, alas very loosely. If he falls over or picked up with force, boom, those weapons are slipping out of their holsters, and the shield might even fall off. If there was a complaint to this figure, it would be that, but it's not all THAT bad, just a bit of a nuisance.

He has no problem holding the weapons in his hands, but come on, it's Death's Head! Both hand are easily removed and can be replaced with either weapon, as shown in a couple pics, and the shield will snap onto either wrist.

Moving onto the bulk of the pics is how he scales with others. You can see he's quite a bit taller than your average Star Wars 90's Bounty Hunter and general Marvel Hero, and is on par with some of the other larger Marvel Universe figure. Also for kicks compared to a Terminator Salvation Terminator, 90's Robocop, and a B.A.T.

Now, and this is what I've been putting off, he scales slightly better than you'd expect to your average Tranformer. His taller build helps him immensely, but he will look a bit awkward next to most deluxe sized Transformers, since I think he was portrayed on par with them in the comics.

Finally, his hands seem to be able to grip most G.I. Joe sized guns well, and I found a good looking one that looks like the one on the tfwiki. He also stands almost perfect with World of Nintendo Samus(a sub-par figure), as seen in the last pic.

So is he worth it? I think so! I really don't know much about Death's Head and have only read the Fallen Angels story once quite a few years ago, so I don't have that much of a connection to the character. Still, he's well made and his few accessories can be positioned in multiple ways for some varied posing.
