It would be cool to see the 3rd installment in 3D at the theater but when it gets released on DVD I'm going 2D all the way.

When it comes to 3D I feel some movies can pull it off, while others use it has a stupid gimmick. These movies make it work successfully end up enhancing the visuals rather than stick their fingers out of the screen to pull off some dumb effect to please the audience. Now let's look at the recent film, Tron: Legacy. This might of been the best movie Ive ever seen in 3D. There was not once were I felt it was a cheap trick. The 3D enhanced the environment of the grid, and in some of the beginning scenes it actually felt like I was on a ride at a Disney park. Now that is a great example of how, and what movies 3D should be in, and I think Transformers would be a great movie for 3D if it is used correctly. Having fun while watching a movie in the theatres is a great perk to some movies' credit, and I think Transformers whould be a great example of this. I can picture gears, springs, cogs, nuts, bolts and bent metal flying out into the audience during a fight scene, or sparks flying out in the crowd. There are a lot of cool things that can be produced in 3D in this film that I would love to see. Given they don't overuse it of course. Not to mention, how lifelike the Transformers would look showcast in a 3D environment like how Tron made it look. That is a movie I would see dozens of times.

I agree on that one. Tron: Legacy was so cool in 3D. I can't immagine watching it in 2D next time...
At first I was excited to hear that TF3 will be in 3D. Now i see that they're making almost EVERY movie in 3D (though I would like to see Drive Angry in 3D). That is kinda losing the touch for me. I've only seen two tri-dimensional movies, but those were both very awesome so I hope Bay doesn't screw this one up.
