Sabrblade wrote:Sorry I'm a bit late, but I got the latest comparison now.
First, a rerun of episode 4 played, followed by episode 10.
In episode 10:Though it's most likely a coincidence, Jason wears black instead of red at the episode's beginning, which seems to be foreshadowing to his color of choice in Zeo.
- Hearts and the word "Sweetheart" appear in front of Angela when she first appears.
- A ripping heart and bursting tears appear on Zack when Angela tells him to "Get real," after he first tries to ask her out.
- (Not sure if this is new, but) Kim flashback is very fuzzy.
- Black lines were placed behind Bulk and Skull freaking out over Uncle Steve feeling dizzy.
- Same thing again when Uncle Steve faints.
- Again for their third freak out.
- The Rangers's dino logos appear above and behind them right after they morph and land in the park.
- A yellow smacking "POW!", a pink smaking "BIFF!", a gray smacking "BAM!, and a red zooming "ZZZZING" appear in the fight against Snizzard when he hits the Rangers.
- A "Yay!" and two rainbow shooting stars were placed above Bulk and Skull running away... wait, what?!!
- A big "SPLASH!" was placed over bulk and Skull getting covered in milkshakes. Man, did these two actors have no dignity back then?
A worth noting that ABC is now using the new MMPR logo in some of its ads instead of just the original logo.
They pretty much rip off the 2001: A Space Odyssey music when the plane takes off.
Can Bulk and Skull faint at will?!!
Alpha tells Kim to begin her descent after she's already descending!

I am a fan of TGWTG.com and am aware of Linkara's look-back at the series. Did not know that he had part 2 up on his site, though. Thank you so much for telling me and now I shall go view it with glee.Duke of Luns wrote:This thread's kinda got me nostalgic for the overall vibe of Power Rangers. Luckily, Linkara(from "That Guy With The Glasses" site) is actually doing a retrospective! Thought it would be welcome if I posted it here:

Part 2 actually IS up, but it's on Linkara's site(Atop the Fourth Wall) http://atopfourthwall.blogspot.com/
Don't know when part 3 will be up, but I'm eagerly awaiting it. I'm interested on his thoughts on Masked Rider. I remember watching parts 2 and 3 of the crossover(I will Youtube them up in the next couple days) and thought it was okay, but I only saw a couple eps. of the TV show and wasn't all that impressed back in the day.

I said the same thing when I started this rewatch. However, Linkara of ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com (known for his Atop the Fourth Wall comic review series) recently has begun a new series called "History of Power Rangers", in which he takes a look back at every Power Rangers series and gives a "serious analysis" of each of them. As of this typing, he has completed the first three Mighty Morpni seasons and it moving on to Zeo next. And after watching these videos so far, he's making me really want to watch these old series again, in spite of what ever cheesiness may have occurred in this show.SentinelA wrote:I recently watched an early early episode of Power Rangers and it didn't have any new special effects. What it did have was the ability to confound me into why I ever watched the show (other than having a boner for the pink ranger)
