Yeah, originality is getting scarcer and scarcer in Hollywood anymore. I can't believe a classic like Road House is getting remade. WHY?

I ask this all the time and the only thing I can think of is we now have a younger generation of creators that was raised on a heavy dose of TV and it's limited their creativity but their nostalgia remains.

I heard the same thing about Short Circuit, which is an even bigger "Why" since...I mean, the original used animatronics, actual robotics, no amount of CGI can make something look more real than that.

You're right, My Little Pony is an obvious example of a good remake. It came naturally.

btw are you guys still talking about Tremors as the original source of this convo?(or was it something else) I only ask coz it has spun off into MLP somehow! as an example.

but for argument's sake...if it were Tremors you were talking about...then a remake would be all CG for the Graboids(as one of you already stated) but with that in mind...some(not all) CG today can be realistic looking.

The graboids were CG in the 3rd and 4th films, as well as the TV show, IIRC. Didn't look too good. Then again, it was over a decade ago. I still say we don't need a remake. I'd much rather see a sequel with the original cast (who are still alive, anyway). It's not like Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward (who I think would have made a great Wolverine) have anything better to do these days...

Fred Ward, maybe, but Kevin Bacon has hit that point in his life where he can basically take on any project he wants. Even he said he wants to go back to Tremors at some point.

Bohze Moi! Cosmos is best Guardian. I'm glad he was included in the movie as an easter egg to the comic book fans, but I'm not holding my breathe that he's included in the sequel.

The 90's Spider-man cartoon is probably the best piece of Spider-man media ever made. It has a beginning, middle, and an ending with great continuity and an overall story/plot line. I think it also used cgi effects in the intro and ending scenes when he's swinging between buildings. You don't need any other cartoon, movie, or comic book series. You can use this as canon, the end all be all.

I'm kinda partial to 1960s Stan Lee Spider-Man comics, but that's my taste. The 90s cartoon was fun growing up, but I personally wouldn't want to watch it again.

Well I'm sure the new Dangermouse series will have it's target audience
