Hey guys,

I need mold ideas for MTMTE Ratchet because I'm drawing a blank. The chest doesn't have to be exact because I will likely be modding it in. The shoulders and his frame are more of what I'm looking for in the toy. And please not Prime Kup, he's too short.

RTS Perceptor maybe? Their his arms and torso look kinda like MTMTE Ratchets...

perhaps if you wait long enough we will get better a better ironhide and ratchet with comics like trailcutter.

Yeah, I'd like to see a redo of Ironhide and Ratchet for the Classics/Neo-G1 collection. The Universe 2008 versions are okay for now, but Takara and Hasbro can do a lot better. I don't think there's any reason to restrict them to the same mold now either. Just make Ironhide a modern pick-up truck and Ratchet an actual real-world amublance, instead of a white minivan someone stuck a lightbar atop.

For a more IDW Ratchet, though, I like the idea of a heavy retool of RTS Perceptor. The chest works quite well, but the legs/back half of the truck need extensive retooling, if not completely new tooling altogether.

I wonder if we will get new molds for MTMTE Ratchet. The design is not bad. Looks better than the Universe Ironhide mold

I was also going to say RTS Perceptor, but truth be told, all they really have in common is the chest and that they're blocky bots.

For the life of me, I can't think of any TF that resembles him enough to be useful for a custom job.

Best way I can see making one is figuring out his transformation, find a TF that transforms that way (or similarly) and then use Gundam HG kit parts to build him.

Universe Inferno/Grapple/Hot Spot/etc. have blocky enough proportions to get you started, but they may be too big overall to fit with the rest of your crew so far.

I'm sort of leaning towards Perceptor, because I think I'm going to use the 3P KFC Perce as my LSOTW version.

But there's also WFC Soundwave who has been suggested by alot of members from TFW... funny how the sites are leaning towards one completely different figure xD

I think Perceptor is the better and easier option for me because removing the grill from WFC Soundwave looks absolutely frustrating.

I actually never owned the RTS Perce mold, so could someone do a height comparison with TFP Vehicon (the mold I have for my Rodimus)?

How about TF Prime Ratchet? The frame is actually pretty similar. It even looks like you won't have to change as much as you'd have to with Perceptor.

Here you go. Minus the shoulders, vehicon is still a bit taller. I'd want my Ratchet to be bigger than Rodimus. I agree with ScottyP. Universe inferno would be a great base mold.
