According to Wikipedia, the GBA slot was meant as the "accessory slot". The DS's backward compatibility is a little half assed... it doesn't have any way to play multiplayer. one of those things where Nintendo was like "Why not?".

Anyway according to IGN's article about the DSi the battery life is about 3 hours less than the DS lite. this is due to the fact the DSi has slightly larger screens!

Anyway I dunno, I know the size of cartridge space is 2 gigabit, which equates to roughly 256MB. Is it possible to put a larger cartridge on the DS? Thats what I don't know. I really don't see why a firmware update couldn't do the trick honestly. After all I'm pretty sure the N64 cartridges got bigger as time went on.

Anyway I'm not going to lie, I got carried away because right now I'm bored of my DS. When I got it I was glued to it, but as of late I'm bored to it, and there doesn't seem to be many games out there that interest me. I love Phantom Hourglass but the redudant trips to the stupid "temple of the Ocean King" are annoying, and most of the other games I'd want to pick up for the system are RPG's, and I don't see much reason to pick up another RPG when I'm still working on Zelda.

The games I got so far:

Super Mario 64 DS: was fun as hell at first, a nice twist on a classic, but the lack of true analog stick got old quick (and the virtual stick didn't work as well as I thought it would). Certain parts of Mario 64 I just couldn't get past anymore without my analog stick, ie lethal lava land. I eventually gave up and stopped playing. But I still got like 55 stars or so.

New Super Mario Bros. Awesome game no doubt, but too short and over way to quick

Sonic Rush: Awesome game no doubt, but its either too hard, or I just can't handle the classic sonic gameplay these days. I can't make it past the second act of the second zone and I stopped playing quick after that.

Guitar Hero: On Tour: Love the game, but could use a few more songs definitly. That and the Pick stylus wore out too quickly. I haven't been playing latley because I need a new pick!

Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass: Love the game, but unless I have several hours to spare I won't fire it up. Right now I"m on my fourth trip to the temple, and while the story is starting to get awesome, the temple's really really getting old.

Madden NFL '09: For our anniversary, I got my wife a journey neckless she got me Madden '09. She got it for me on PS3 so I can play at home, and DS so I can play it on the road. I honestly hate the DS version. The PS3 has pretty graphics and consistant commentary the DS version likes like madden n64, doesn't even have Brett Farve on the game even though he's on the cover, and offers none of the advertised features that madden promised, ie virtual trainer, madden IQ, wrapped tackling, etc. the Commentary sucks ass. "quarterback takes a snap.... missed it". Thats about it. I think this is where I get jealous of PSP users because I see them playing a game thats nearly identical to a PS2 version of Madden, while mine just looks like crap. Not really DS's fault but more or less because EA is a poopy company! I still miss my NFL 2k series...

Thats pretty much my whole game collection. Now my wife has Mario Party DS, Mario Kart DS, Her own copy of Super Mario 64, METEOS, and Brain age. I tried out brain age, thought it completly sucked. the damn microphone wasn't reacting right and kept telling me my brain age was like 72. Mario Kart is awesome, but only has one save slot. I don't want to delete over her file, so I don't play it. Me and my wife have a blast when we play mario 64, new super mario bros, or mario party via wi-fi!

Anyway thats my DS story and my comments. I have a red/black model, she has a pink model. Odd as it may seem I bought her one for christmas last year when I really wanted one, and she just by coincidence bought me one. So we have his/hers DS's

I have/had both the original PSP and the PSP-2k and they both last about 4.5 hours playing Crisis Core. I can play for about 6 hours playing Disgaea. That's with the brightness cranked all the way up.

If I'm listening to music or just watching movies on it tack on another hour or two. So for me at least, on the older PSP models the UMD drive can eat up a lot of juice.

Now on the original PSP I had those 5 second loads for the menu on CC, but on the 2k series I have virtually no wait.

I'm also not planning on getting a new PSP. I went with the Darth Vader option last christmas and she's doing just fine, so I see no reason to upgrade again.

As far as the DS goes, I know my wife won't be getting one. SHe'll have no way to get her old Pokemon off her GBA version onto the DS versions, so she's definitely not going to want a new one. That and hers is pretty solid and works fine.

Ah, that's right. They gave it more internal memory, didn't they? I forgot about that. Although, when I got my PSP, the only one available was the original.

I've never seen anyone use an original PSP. Everyone at work has the slim model. I honestly can't tell a difference in the way it looks. They used to have a bigger battery kit for the PSP but from my understanding its been discontinued due to lack of popularity... it also includes a larger batter cover for the larger battery and from my understanding the little "buldge" it gives the PSP is why its so unpopular.
