no but it gives me another excuse to watch it...

to the other about the battle theme. which specific battle theme to you mean? I listened but I was sure I heard a bit of a transfomrery theme in it but not sure what particular melody you are refering to.

EDIT: I can't see the rig. At least not clear enough to bug me... I Like bonecrusher... his movement is like rollerbladers. I have to admire rollerbladers they can go SO fast.

They kept the transformation sound Yay.
Ok. Awsome! "It's a robot. A super advance one. Probebly Japanese" Funny! The transformations are awsome and Bumblebee is sweet not to mention Optimus Prime. OMG! Bonecrusher, Starsream, Blackout and Megatron! All the action, it's entoxicating. I need to breath.

Now, don't get me wrong - I'm not a hater, and I am REALLY looking forward to the movie. I just don't think the classic transformation sound effect has a place in this film. Just my opinion. :)

Yeah, I know - the sound is really out of place. I much rather the try to incorporate it with the other sounds than just paste it over... but it's probably something that was only done for the trailer, sounds like it anyway.

What the above have said.

New take on theme?

Postby brbolin » Fri May 18, 2007 12:56 pm

Having watched the trailer about 30 times, I'm thinking that they're doing a nice homage to the original theme in the middle of the trailer.
It's all orchestral, and sounds GREAT. Watch the trailer, again (I know...twist your arm...) and pay attention from the Blackout attack at the 1:10 mark up til Optimus transforms at 1:34.
The trebel part/melody isn't quite there, but if you listen to the bass part of the song...what the low strings, tubas, trombones, etc. are playing, you can just about sing "The Transformers...more than meets the eye. The Transformers robots in disguise...". The chord progression is dead-on for the original theme. It's stretched out about twice as long as the original theme's chord progession, but it's there.
Sorry if this has been mentioned already...

Does anyone have a link to download the trailer in non-HD Quicktime yet?

I don't know if it has been mentioned. It is there, though. Good spot! I find it's easiest to hear it starting from when we see the boats to when Starscream first transforms into jet mode.

It almost looks like Starscream is holding a huge ass sword in his left hand when he does that powerslide. It could be his arm but it would kick taint if it's a sword.

I think it may be his arm/hand turning into that ginormous cannon/missle launcher contraption. A sword, however, would be rock awesome.

You must have a horrible time watching movies since basically every movie has something like that happen at some point.

well with all the speculation that I've made (good and bad), nothing kills it like a good bit of footage.

I'm definitly looking foreward to this movie now.

I thought that was a rumour. A bad, bad, nasty, evil rumour that needed to be wiped out by any means neccessary. I figured we wouldn't get it till about the week after, but the END OF THE FREAKING MONTH??? NNNOOOOOO!!!!!!

btw, there was some discussion a few pages back about what makes a tf movie a tf movie. And I've figured it out. Or at least an important aspect. It is from the viewpoint of the transformers (both factions). From these trailers, it looks like it will be the human perspective. The only major gripe I will have is if this is true. Which it looks like it is.

Still, it'll be a great movie and I'm still pumped to see it.

that's a nice pic actually... kinda warm and for some odd reason, makes me think back to 1980 when we went to virginia Beach and I got that terrible sunburned back... massive blister too.

I like the oranges in it, its rather nice.

License Revoked? Wow. That's obscure, nicely done!
(For those not in the know, that's the European naming of the Timothy Dalton Bond film License To Kill...which was renamed because they believed Americans wouldn't know what revoked meant...)

And actually, yeah that does scream LTK there...all it needs is Starscream flying around and it'd be perfect.

Megatron was built bigger than Jazz, and Jazz is only 13 feet tall IIRC.

Did anyone notice that Jazz 'squeaks' when Megatron pwns him? Like some little pet's chewtoy?

yeah i heard that.

Not a squeak...it has to do with his thrusters, or maybe needing some WD-40 when he transforms...it isn't a "squeak".
He makes the same noise when it shows him flying down the side of the building and transforming in mid-air a few seconds later in the trailer.

Maybe he has hiccups?[
