I still think the Martial Arts should be non-altmode tactics, as they should be improved through training, and not displace weaponry.
Afterall, what's Metallikito without a sword?
Skill could be a primary feeder stat for all of them, with Strength, Speed, and Intel being secondary feeders for different forms.
Additionally, pitfighting (Megatron and Grimlock's styles) should get all sorts of dirty tricks, including the possibility of disarming the opponent and using their weapon against them (would require it be upgraded to 10, and weapon be within their ability).
Edit: We could also expand the idea to include ranged combat forms which are fed by Skill and Firepower. This is where your snipers would come from.
In other words, normal bot:
Kalihex hits Dynamax with a Sniper Rifle. Dynamax is scratched.
Bot with points in the Marksmanship Tactic:
Kalihex snipes Dynamax with a Sniper Rifle. Dynamax is injured.
Another ranged botmode tactic could increase the frequency of firing, or allow the bot to perform a 'strafe' attack using the damage from his weapon.
