Oh, you KNOW the tickets to the Vikings/Packers games are going to be the 2 most valuable tickets of the year. I can only imagine the scalper prices on the Lambeau Game.

I might make it a point to drive up to WI HWY 29 and put up a display welcoming any and all Vikings Fans on their way to Green Bay.

"Honk if your a Favre Fan!" all in PURPLE. :D

I might get shot that day, lol.

I used to love the Vikings. They were one of my favorites when I was a kid. Them and the Browns. Now its the Jaguars and the Browns. But I still watch a Vikings game if its on TV. I guess if I had to choose a favorite NFC team, it'd be them or the Panthers..or the Redskins :P

The Panthers are my favorite NFC team now. Titans are still overall tops, tho.

As an Eagles Fan I am interested to see what the Eagles can do with Vick. The wildcat offense that was being thrown around maybe they can implement it better with Vick. What Vick did a few years ago getting his jail time was stupid and he knows it, he did his time and now hes working on fixing his life and playing football. I could care less about him as a person for what he did, if he fixes his life cool and does what he can to make that the past and improve, great. I just want to see how he can move on with football and do well and shut up some people who can't get past his short comings with his football skills.

Although last year McNabb really wasn't that impressive until Reid benched him mid season and woke him up. Vick could very well be McNabb's replacement. Who knows.

As for Farve, I have no respect for him. I never really did like him when he was on the Packers. Now hes just going around wasting people's time and sucking out money out of franchise's for a years worth of football and taking time away from people who should be playing. I would would have a little more respect for him if he retired back with the Packers just after they lost the NFC Championship to the Giants.

Thats just me and my opinions.

I agree that people deserve second chances. In some cases they deserve to be scrutinized further however. In Vick's case it seems he is simply above the law and the proof is this: while out on bail, the idiot- knowing full well he was going to be tested for drugs due to being in the justice system- smoked marijuana, committing another crime while waiting for charges on the first one. So, not only did he do something illegal (and please let's not get into the "legalize marijuana" thing here), but he did it KNOWING FULL WELL he was going to be tested and believing that it made no difference. Legal experts are saying that he effectively doubled his prison term by doing that. So, when it comes down to it, Vick HAD his second chance and blew it on a fat doobie.

On that note, it looks like Plaxico Burress's career is over. 2 years in the hole plus whatever the Commish doles out for him. Throw that onto the mix with his actions as a teammate and generally being an a-hole and he's had his first and second chances too.

Can we PLEASE hurry up the start of the season so we can talk about actual football as opposed to what the idiots that play the game are doing off the field?
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Well, Dallas rebounded and spanked the Titans at their first home game at Cowboys Stadium. Jones is gonna have to deal out a little more cash and lift the giant television up a couple feet, as a couple punts actually hit the damn thing.

Yeah, i saw that. in practice, the Titans punters were hitting the bottom of the scoreboard. That's a BIG HONKIN' SCOREBOARD!!! And then I watched the rest of the game. And damn near threw up.

Titans: 2-1.

I have to say I like the idea of having the screen in the middle for all to see in the new Dallas stadium. But for practical reasons it's just not...well practical. As was said it is just to low and will probably get hit a few times during the year. How much can it take before pieces fall off and cause problems for the players and fans?

Bucs win a nice one against the Jags. The Jags went for a two point conv. in the last minutes for the go ahead score but didn't convert. I think they did it to avoid overtime if you ask me :P

Its a god damn miracle. Even if it is against the Lions and its in preseason, they actually didn't look to bad for once. Still not a Brady Quin supporter. Probably never will be.

THe legal department called: since the Browns' so-called "victory" was against the Detroit Lions, legal states that it technically does not qualify as a "victory". Rather, it qualifies as a "loss" for Detroit. Furthermore, legal says that any "victory" does not qualify as an official victory against Detroit as they are not a professional NFL franchise and therefore it is an exhibition game against a minor league team rendering the so-called "victory" meaningless.

Does anyone else find it hilarious that Jerry Jones screwed up Texas Stadium? Bigger isn't always better Jerry. Your punter says that the giant scoreboard is going to get hit dozens of times this season. THat means you are an idiot. And for God's sake LAY OFF THE BOTOX on your forehead. Your eyebrows are where your hairline used to be!

Yeah...I was afraid of that... :(

I thought other than the scoreboard, the stadium looked good. I still don't get why they needed a new one. The old one was just fine.

It is odd that a team like the Browns could afford a new stadium tho.

And yes Jerry Jones is rather dumb when building his new stadium. I wonder what they will have to do to fix the problem. Ask punters not to punt the ball so high?

He's already said he's not moving the scoreboard despite protests from their punter. Is anyone else seeing the similarity between him and Al Davis in Oakland/LA/Anaheim/Orange County? Senility is setting in I think...we'll see what the league has to say about it. The NFL may force him to either move it or play elsewhere to avoid interfering with the game.

So he's trying to get into a dickmeasuring contest with Steinbrenner?

It is odd that a team like the Browns could afford a new stadium tho.

Well, the *new* stadium was a part of the complete package of the Browns returning to Cleveland. Well, the *name* returning anyway. Modell is still in Baltimore.

And as far as I know, I'm the only one who actually *likes* the Ravens around here. You should see the dirty looks I get when I am out with my Ray Lewis jersey on. But f**k them, Ray Lewis one of the greatest linebackers of all time, one of the very few nowadays whom I think can hang with the guys from the 60s and 70s. There's Ray Lewis and Lawrence Taylor. And the entire D unit of the '85 Bears! :P Steve McMichael, yo!

I still remember the 85 Bears (duh...I live just outside Chicago). That still is regarded as the single best football team ever assembled. Richard Dent, William Perry, Mongo McMichael, Otis Wilson, Samurai Mike Singletary, Mike Richardson, etc. The thing that just amazes me if the fact that they did the Super Bowl Shuffle song, put a huge target on their backs, and still beat the crap out of almost everyone. And the one game they lost against Miami, they were down 31-7 at the half and very nearly came back to win it. And NO ONE has ever come close to their playoff dominance. Two shut outs back to back and a total of 10 points allowed in three playoff games...and that's against the best teams in the NFL. FOur shutouts in the season. It was simply incredible. Even in the Super Bowl there was no doubt who was going to win...it was just a case of by how much. How many times in the Super Bowl do you see the entire second string playing most of the second half...on both sides of the ball?

(sigh) If only the Cubs could do that just once in my lifetime...

Yeah, the '85 Bears were utter domination. Jim McMahon wasn't that great, but he did enough to win with that defense. I'd love to see a matchup of the '85 Bears and the 2000 Ravens.

Your not the only Ravens fan around here Roddy. My brother is a huge Ravens fan. I don't dislike them and I will always root for them over the Steelers(go away black and yellow!)

Hopefullly, the Browns can at least get go 8-8 this year...god I hope they do good again :?

Yeah, I hope the Browns at least have a winning record. Even if they make it into the playoffs I don't care if they lose the first game. At least they're in! I just don't want them to lose against the Squealers.

And if you and your brother see a guy with a black Ray Lewis jersey in NE Ohio, it's me! :P

Dallas has billed themselves as America's team for years. Props to their marketing department for making it stick. But in all honesty, they are among the most disliked teams in the league. I really think that if you polled people they would say the following: the Browns are the Cubs of the NFL. The minute they start to win, everyone starts pulling for them because it just doesn't happen much and everyone loves an underdog. If i had a choice I would root for Cleveland over any other team with the exception of Da Bears and the Steelers...sorry, but i grew up liking the Steelers and it's kind of hard to put that out of your makeup. As collectors on a site dedicated to just that subject, I'd wager you Brownie fans can fogrive me for that.

On a football note, anyone else planning on booing the heck out of Mike "Petkiller" Vick on Thursday night?

ESPN just announce during MNF halftime that there will be a comity to review what to do about the scoreboard in Dallas Stadium on Tuesday. Haven't found a link to the story yet but when I spot one I'll post it (unless someone beats me to it).
