"Although the score is not finalised, DeSanto intends an orchestral version of the TV series' theme for the film. Murphy said "we'd have to be retarded to leave it out".

I was happy to hear about that I hope it is not the same or too simaliar as the one from the orginal movie.

I wish it would be like the fan made theme by Jarek Zabczynski (he made one and posted it on the DM boards last year)..

Ps...Weird Al is real popular again with his latest album. I wonder what song he will contribute to the new movie? I doubt anything can beat Transformers dancing to Dare to be Stupid! :lol:

Please, no. Those songs and artists had their day. Time to move on to something better - which shouldn't be too hard, even for this production.

I'm 18 and all my favorite bands are from the 90s to the 60s with artists ranging from The Beastie Boys to Pink Floyd and I still think The Touch is one of the worst songs ever made.

Wasn't there some rumour that Stan Bush(The Touch) was doing something for the movie?
Anyway, they probably will throw in a little of the old music in there from the TV show. Maybe the ole "More Than Meets The Eye" sound. Nothing huge. Just as an homage to where Transformers came from.

im glad there putting the theme into the movie. there crazy if they dont. and it doesnt even need to be changed that much. if u use the old movie theme replace unicron witn megatron or decepticon in the song and bam new theme for new movie.

I like that the movie will get new music and won't re-use anything from the previous Transformers movie. Those songs are allready pretty well immortalized within the fandom and beyond and really don't need revisiting. I think having a whole new set of tunes will just add significantly to all aspects. BTW, anyone know when the soundtrack is set to be released? I know these things hit at the same time or before a movie's release, but don't know in this case.

They should use the orchestral version that was in the Transformers Armada PS2 game. That was pretty sweet.

Oh, and "The Touch" was friggin' terrible. After Prime says "Megatron must be stopped....." I mute the movie for a couple of minutes, that song so took away from the action in that scene.

Nobody better dog the touch espically in one of the greatest moments in TF History. It is just priceless "Megatron must be stopped no matter the cost" I hope they make a modernized version of it were it will fill in the movie good like techno-guitar. I was also hoping for Dare which was awesome, and they need a Death theme for Jazz like the death of Optimus Prime and a new version of the Autobot and Decepticon Battle theme. I can understand that one not being in cause there isnt any autobot city in this movie.

The Touch by itself is probably one of the worst songs for any film, but yet it will always fit TFTM and those scenes it's in like it was made for that specific purpose.

The touch is a horrible, ridiculous, cheesy, and yes I'm gonna say it, gay song.

Taken by itself.

In the context of Boogie Nights, it's funny as hell. In the context of TF the movie, its 80's cheese becomes awesome for that brief time.

In the context of this new movie, it would be scary and wrong, unless it was playing on a radio in the background for a brief moment, as an easter egg for the fans. That would rule, and I hope it happens.

In other words, not the same 80's song, just the arrangement of the otherwise new score having some throwback similarities to the old original. They could also do like Spiderman, and have the original in the credits at the end as a joke, but during the movie it would not be there.
