I love reading some good fanfic. I read my fair share of Sailor Moon and My Little Pony Frienship is Magic fanfic. Ranging from random comedy, to adventure, to grimdark... I love the fact that some fanfic are exploring some plotholes or are just expanding on the universe. I tolerate original characters when it make sense and if the overall story is good.

But I've yet to read any good Transformers fanfic. On Fanfiction.net, it seem there's almost only fics in the movieverse. And what the **** with all the Starscream-care-for-children stories? I've seen (almost)all the animated series so far. I never read any comics, save for the reprint that goes with the reissue of the original Optimus Prime (horrible comic by the way).

What I would like is the reccomendations of the best TF fics in theses universes: G1, Beast War, Unicron Trilogy, TF Prime, War for Cybertron, or some kind of wild cross-over.

So, any good reads?

The best Transformers fanfic I've read is based in the 2007 movieverse and called 'Naturalized' by An Cailin Rua/Tricolora. It's still the ONLY Transformer fic I've ever felt moved to comment on when it first started running over on the fanfiction dot com site and it's one of the few I've seen that's written on a fully adult level and which features Transformer characters that are relatable yet seem non-human. Unfortunately, it's no longer up on the internet, but a fellow-fan who evidently admired it even more than I did took it upon herself to restore it (with the author's permission) and make it available again via email. I also have very fond memories of a series of Beast Wars Dinobot stories I read years ago written by a German fan which were also very seriously done--angsty character drama type stuff--but those were hosted on a private archive. If you like this character and want me to, I'll try and track them down too...(if they're even still available)...

I've used BW Optimus Primal myself in a Trek fic--he's there so I can contrast his leadership style with Captain Sisko's--but I dunno...it's not really his story. However, on the plus side, I do write him seriously and serious versions of Optimus Primal are hard to find. (I've looked...) If you're really keen on him, I guess I could pull his scenes, rewrite a touch and put them over on the fanfic forum so you'd have at least a bit of fic about him that isn't goofy or childish or just plain smutty...can't guarantee the quality, just that Primal won't be goofy, childish or smutty...

Any other fics I can think of that I'd consider both good and memorable all seem to involve G1 Megatron whaling on Starscream and having highly unprofessional relations with him. Probably NOT what you're looking for, I'm guessing...

I myself am currently writing a fanfic based on the designs of the Transformers animated characters, but while still having the story be a three way mixture of G1/Beast Wars, The Movies, and War for Cybertron. But to establish the story, I am currently drawing all the characters I wont to be in the fanfic, so I'll keep you posted.

you could read mine here on seibertron, but no-one really likes it, aside a select few, but I think that's only because no-one goes down there anymore..

I have an unfinished fanfic in there about Drift. I only got a little don, and am too busy with other writing projects to finish it.

I might complete it somewhere down the road, but it's not looking likely.

I enjoy reading the Seeds of Deception stories. It's a bunch of pre-Civil war era chapters that focus on particular characters and overlap each other to tell a bigger story, and borrows elements from the different continuities. They also include descriptions of where they interweave with each other. Give it a read.

I once read some TF: Animated fanfic on DeviantART. It was about Blurr and a female Autobot (Hyper, was it?), her sister (some Violet) and Sentinel, Optimus and Balackarachnia, Bumblebee and Wasp(inator). But I can't remember the darn name anymore!
It did feature team Chaar, too.
