Strangely enough, Prime and Starscream never appear in protoform form but the other Autobots (minus BB) do ... sort of.

Unless you count Prime in asteroid mode.

I think you see it for a split second when he takes on the form of the semi.

Yeah you only see him in that form for a second, will have to wait till the DVD to pause that.

He is the asteroid who crashes in the field and transforms, Sam and mikeala go to investigate where they find a crater where he landed, then they see a Semi truck on the top of a hill drive off

Acording to the movie Adaption.4 meteors are crashed in different places.Protoform Prime was in front of Sam.It then turned into a truck.Then it Transformed into original Prime.

I think if you get the dvd then you puse it one the micro second you see him then we should get a pretty good image of what he looks like.

The protoform robot modes are not like the actual "naked" forms of the Autobots. Prime, Ratchet, Jazz and Ironhide all have asteroid forms, but only Prime's is actually seen in the asteroid form, the others are only seen in their "naked" forms.

And there are no huge fat wheels on Primes asteroid form.

Starscream, nor any cons are seen in protoform modes.

It's a shame we didn't get to see Protoform Starscream, the toy looked very promising.

Maybe on the DVD, I reckon there will be a a few cut scenes added (maybe Prime v Barricade?).

In the movie after Bumblebee sends a signal you see the 4 "asteroids" land and you see Optimus Standing on a hill just before he chooses his alt mode. The protoform is in it for about 30 seconds

They show Jazz, Ironhide and Prime in Protoform mode. They all look the same.

In the movie, anyway. Starscream, Blackout and Barricade are seen in their protoform forms in issue 3 of the prequel.

It was a nice touch to see Protoform Prime. They did a pretty good job of capturing him in plastic. I was truly impressed.

Do you know how long 30 seconds is in a film?
The camera usually changes shot about 20-25 times in 30 seconds.

I may be wrong, but I think Jazz was the one who crashed in the field because he was small and the protoform looked the same as when he went to the car dealership and scanned the Solstice.

I believe Prime crashed in the swimming pool because he was huge. He was taller than the trees he was hiding behind when the lil' girls parents came out.

the one in the pool is ironhide. if you watched it carefully (even though it was pretty obvious) he steps behind the tree and then it shows the black truck finishing its transformation..meaning ironhide.
