Question about Weapons
I have a bot that is Rank 6 in Firepower, however I don't seem to see any kind of damage change from his Ionic Displacer rifle than I do from his null ray rifle. Am I missing something here? I am trying to work on a good strafer

Not too sure here, but strength may help with weapon damage and fp with strafe and the ability to buy weapons (not necessarily affect the weapons damage). I could be wrong...

Re: Question about Weapons
Thanks, I was going to say I noticed more damage being done in general from my rammers with 5+ str compared to my strafers with 5+ firepower. Perhaps I need to mix it up a bit with a Firepower/STR Combo to maximize my damage. Still trying to find a sweet spot for this bot.
I modeled him after talking to Bumblevivisector's bots who took the time to explain some of his builds to me. However where Bumblevivisector's cons will strafe on average 4 or 5 times a battle I am lucky to get one or two out. I know its the luck of the draw, but after putting him in for at least 3 times a day almost every day for the past month (so about 90 times) I am still way below average compared to other strafers my level that I am watching.
I find it weird that my damage output was lower than others so I figured I would give up trying to crunch numbers on my own and try to ask for some help.

5 or more str does more damage unarmed than with weapons, unless the weapon needs a combination of 10 or more fpr and skill
str adds to all weapon damage.
str adds to all weapon damage.

Re: Question about Weapons
Thanks Name_Violation,
I have a question, which would theoretically do more damage?
A weapon say FPR (4) that is moderate to heavy with a strength multiplier of 4, or a flat strength of 6?
I was reading the formula on a post a few posts down about the (min/max) determinations of weapons and was just curious from your experience on how to properly balance it out. I figure since your the one usually destroying me in the battles that my higher bots enter I might as well learn what I am doing wrong.

The 6 str will deal better damage, the weapon user may occasionally hit a tad harder than the brawler on a lucky hit, but overall will average lower damage.
A 6 str bot with a weapon will average less damage than a 6 str bot with no weapon.
After you have a 5+ str the only weapons that deal better damage than brawling are the high stat pre-req ones.

Re: Question about Weapons
Damn. I was afraid you were going to say that.
See I have been watching the different tactics and different builds, checking them out on how they do in the arenas, 2v2, 3v3, Hell levels and such.
I have noticed a few things, such as:
* Rammers tend to do the best in survival
* Strafers / Healers tend to garnish the largest payouts
* High Str = the most damage.
My Top characters that I have are on three different variations.
Ram
Ram / Avoid
Strafe
I have also watched some healers and noticed their success vs levels. However, the survivability of these characters is limited. For right now I am having to hold off on reformatting a few of my bots only because I am kind of fond of their alt modes and don't want to loose it.

Strafers and Medics get the highest xp, but are the hardest to build, require more xp to start with and are incredibly easy to cock up spectacularly.
