Scientology...

Postby Nico » Tue Jul 17, 2007 6:54 pm

Ok, seriously! Waht the **** is that! Its really weird. I have seen other weird belief in alien and stuff but this one is certaintly the most UN-ORIGINAL ever!

I must saying that its as beleivable as "Flying Spaghetti Monster"!

Image

Honsetly, i think Satanism seem strangely more beleivable. I am also ondering if there are Scientologist on the board.

As a former Satanist, I can support your claim that it is more believable than Scientology. Satanism, as it is practiced today, is nothing more than a cross between Agnosticism and humanism with a little bit of Mysticism and Hedonism tossed in. If you read the Satanic Bible, you'll probably find yourself laughing at how tongue-in-cheek LeVay's writing is.

To be a real Scientologist, you really need to have enough money to have divorced yourself from reality. It's an Emperor's New Clothes thing. Rich people think that they are privy to information on the creation of the human race, meanwhile everyone else sees them as the bunch of kooks they are.

I will say this, though. There is nothing in Scientology that is any more far fetched than what is written in The Bible, The Koran, or the Book of Mormon.

Satanism kicks ass man... though I'm not so sure it can be really called a church so much as a club of people with similar philosophies.

And, on the topic, you have to admit, Elron Hubberd, the founder of Scientology, was being really honest when he stated his motives by saying the best way to gain power and wealth was by starting your own religion.

It's not even a club of people with similar philosophies. LeVay knew that people who followed Satansim would be the kind of people who would not blindly share the same thoughts, ideas, or philosophies. I do it a disservice by saying this, but Satansim has more in common with Pastafarianism than with any "mainstream" religion.

The difference between Satansim and Scientology is that, if you make fun of Satanism, a Satanist will probably laugh and buy you a beer while the person making fun of Scientology will be on the receiving end of a lawsuit.

Weapon: Corrosive Slime Shooter
One... I hate to say this, but the thread is trolling. It's written in a way that comes across as "Come on, bitch at me! I dare you!"

That said, Scientology is no further out there or crazy than any other religion. The whole point of religion is that you believe in something that you have no real valid proof being true. So what if Scientology believes in aliens. Is that any more far fetched then believing a man rose from the dead? Or that angels sent a message to someone to tell them where they could dig up solid gold plates? Or that every single thing in the universe has a spirit? Or that there's a afterlife?

Instead of making fun of scientologists, I think they should be respected. They take a lot of flack in the media but are still vocal about what they believe in. And they're a lot less pushy then other religious people tend to be.

OH man, there religon was started by a SCIENCFICTION AUTOR!
But in my eyes it's just as stupid as any other religon.
AND I MEAN ANY OTHER RELIGON!
But I don't care what people belive in, as long as they leave me alone and are happy I don't care and respect them.
Heck my best friend is a fanatical Catolick, and were still best friends.

The part i find VERY silly is the DC-8 looking spaceship. Alien-beleif-worship-thingy is not unique to scientology, but i think this "Religion" or "Cult" belief look more like a SciFi novel.

"Look at me, i am Xenu! BWUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Note to any Scientologist on the board (If they exist): Stay whit your "religion" if you want. I am just saying its a little..****!

You can, but a vast majority of the others posting here are rather ignorant.

A couple days ago, after returning from LA and seeing several Scientology churches, I decided to read up on Wikipedia about the beliefs of Scientologists(hey, I had nothing better to do other than stare at my new Movie Starscream).

Honestly, I didn't see what is SO crazy about their beliefs; and for the most part I could see how people could buy into this and honestly believe in it..... until I read about the DC-8 spaceships. Then I just laughed my ass off.

I'm sorry, but the DC-8 thing is the breaking point where I just thought to myself: "Was Hubbard on the sauce when he wrote this part?"

are spaceships any more fantastic than dragons? how about people with elephants for heads? or perhaps people coming back from the dead?

if you're going to disbelieve religeon for it's fantastic claims then at least be fair and pick them all to peices, focusing just on the absurdities of scientology, and ignoring those of other faiths is hypocritical and biggoted.

is their a religeon that doesn't require me to buy into something that would require peter jackson or micheal bay recreate for the big screen?

Just like me. I could barely find it beleivable until i heard about the Dc-8!

But every so-called real religion are just like Scientology. Uber-Cult. Islam and Bouddism are Ultra-Uber cult just like
Christianity.

Jesus and his apostle, isn't that a sect?

The hillarious part that makes Scientology stand out is when it came about - Thousands of years AFTER you could easily convince anyone that you know the secrets of life and have the key to salvation.

Or so one would think.

Hubbard was into some really black magick before he made that cult.

To this day Clearwater energetically reeks like a thousand dire skunks cutting the cheez at once.

i want our government to fluch these bastards, especially after the death of Lisa. i dont stand for that kinda crap in my 7-2-7, Pinellas Co. FL.

Black Magick? care to elaborate?

and really do you think is it a good idea to set a precendent for the persection of religoeons by the government? how do you discriminate between what is acceptable to beleive and what isn't? really you either have to let all of them believe in their stories or non at all.

Hubbard there was involved with Parsons, student of Crowley, in attempting to replicate the fracking "Moonchild" ritual. I'ts all on the net- Xenu.net, that is. Jack Parsons later blew himself up with an alchemical experiment, btw.

Scary stuff - he also believed that anyone under a certain functionality should be executed. Along with anyone who questioned him.

The precedent may be dangerous, but need i remind you all that the times are also dangerous? Unless you want Malkuth to go straight into the Abyss.... or at the very least, want people to be hurt, it is best that we limit our religions to the following list:

Christianity
Judaism
Islam
Bhuddism
Hinduism
Any other religion with demonstrable ancient roots - ex. Native American beliefs, world tribal religions, and even tribal religious revival such as Neo-Paganism. (and if you too are into that, i'd suggest looking at Hinduism anyhow - it's another branch of the Indo-European cultural tree.)

Anything emergent should be throughly investigated by a government body. These are times of darkness we live in, and such things are necessary.

if youd like, its a metaphor for the devolution of civilization - the debasement of religion into a monetary enterprise that Jesus himself railed against. I officially hate anyone who does this, as they are no doubt dicks.

Scientology aint even the worst, there are people destroying the religions of this continent that rank lower.

and once again i return the point, that scientology seems no different than any other organised religeon.
