Hey everyone,

I'm working on redesigning Seibertron.com. I'm looking for images of the Transformers logos and faction symbols. Would some of you be willing to help me find large versions of these images? Perhaps with the Transformers logos (such as BWII, Neo, Victory, etc) actually scan in the original versions of the logos and help me clean them up?

One project that's well underway is the restructuring and redesigning of the Vector Sigma Database. The VSD is used for all of the major sections on the site from the galleries to the toy sightings section to the comics and cartoons section. I'd like to have very large versions of all of the Transformers logos. I thought about scanning in images from my boxes or other mediums to get the largest versions but I don't have enough time to do this fast enough. I'd like large versions of the logos so that I can resize them as necessary for use throughout the site such as on the main VSD page.

I'd also like to bring back the faction/tech specs/motto feature to the forums as well. I've used the same faction icons for about 7 or 8 years now. I'd like to give all of the faction logos an overhaul for use on the site. It'd be great if all of the factions had a similar look but that's not necessary. I guess picking the nicest of the logos will work the best ultimately. The current faction symbols can also be seen in the VSD on pages like the following:

If you're able to help, please let me know. If you can post the images in this thread, that would be very helpful. If you would prefer to do this via email or some other method, please let me know in this thread.

I noticed the tfwiki has a lot of faction insignia...

someone over on deviantart has done vector tracings of them all aswell.

As for series title logos... I have a whole load of them saved on my laptop.. Rather than fill the thread up with images heres a link to them on my photobucket.

I dont have them all and their in no particular order. Some also relate just to toylines, not just cartoons. Either way Ryan I hope it helps!!

What sort of thing are you after with regards to tech specs?.. Something like this perhaps?... or what about this?..

Long time members will remember how the tech specs used to work. Basically when you'd edit your profile, you had the ability to choose your allegiance, select your tech spec numbers, choose a weapon and post your motto. It was a fun way to make the message board feel more "transformers" like. I didn't rebuild that functionality when I launched this new version of phpBB back in December 07. I'm planning on doing it again here once I upgrade the forums to the latest version of phpBB.

The images on the Wiki site are perfect except for the original G1 Autobot logo. They've only got the thin Autobot logo and not the traditional wider one. I'd love to get my hands on the vector graphics that were posted on Deviant Art. I wonder if the user would be willing to donate his hard work to Seibertron if I provided him/her with an agreed upon form of credit.

Like the selection of logos on your Photobucket account. Do you have the large versions of those images? They'd be a nice start to what I'm looking for. Hoping to have very large versions of those images ... preferably 1000 pixels wide or larger though smaller versions might suffice (like in the 600 to 800 pixel range).

I'll see what I can do with regards to larger sizes for those logos tomorrow.. It's 4am here (already!!) and I'm about to go crawl into bed

As for the chap on DeviantART I'll send him a message as I post stuff on there quite often, I'll be sure to let you know what he says!

When you say 'more traditional, wider logo' is it something that appeared on anything in particular? (Toy packaging? Cartoon?) Wider than this I assume?

The last Autobot symbol that you linked to is what I consider to be the correct version. The one I'm looking for is the solid colored version of that symbol, which I guess I already have.

You don't want to resize small images into large ones. Photoshop can't help that (and I've got Photoshop). We'll keep looking for large versions of the logos or just end up scanning them in eventually.

I know I have a vector image somewhere of both symbols. I'll have a look around when I get home.

Ah... fair enough, my bad I dont have photoshop so I wasnt sure of its capabilities..

I've got your vector tracings coming up as soon as my converter gets done with them. What all do you need vector graphics of? Also do you just want solid color versions or just outlines with no solid fill?

Edit** Also, what size do you want them?

Hm ... very curious to see these vector tracings if it's an automatic program. I think I'm looking for outlines or solid versions. I'm not sure what the outlined versions will look like. Maybe if you could post an example, that would be helpful. Probably the solid color versions would be best.

Don't know if these'll help you out Ryan, but when I was doing brainstorming for HMW, I made a bunch of subfaction icons that never made their way into the game. They're a little larger than what you had before (30x30 vs 24x24) but I'd figure I'll offer them up.

What file format do you want them in. Most formats (gif, jpeg and such) will convert to raster when saved so is there a vector format you would like. I can put them in EPS, SVG, PDF or PNG.

Anyway.. he has sent me a reply over on DA and provided a link to download the Vector Tracings he has done. I've downloaded it myself just incase, as he says the upload will only be available for 7 days.

The file format is a .PSD which I believe is a Photoshop format, so I'm unable to open it myself (as I dont have Photoshop). Do you have an E-Mail address I can send it to or would you prefer a download link via PM?

I believe Ryan has Photoshop as do I. If need be you can send them my way at themuffin@seibertron.com till he gets around to checking the thread.

I appreciate the offer, my friend, but I'm looking for much larger vector images of the faction symbols which will allow me the flexibility to do whatever I need to do with the images for Seibertron.com.

Out of curiosity, do you have Photoshop?

Out of curiosity, do you have Photoshop?

I do, but I suck at it. Turning pictures into HMW-style pics is the extent of my ability.

When are you hoping to have the update finished? I have Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator skills if you need them, but I'm a little busy until May with school.

If you are looking to have the faction symbols listed on that Deviant Art web page vectorized, I can probably help. I have a lot of professional experience from cutting vinyl for vehicle graphics and converting rastar (i.e. pixelated) images of various logos into vector images. Let me know.

Is the redesign why the database link up top is working the way it is? If so when's it going to be done? I'd go have a peak but it doesn't look like I'm authorized...which I'm fine with, I'm just all curious now.

Database is down right now because the back-end is being completely updated.
