Is there a particular set of alts that people really want but don't/can't use?
We all know some alt classes are better than others, and some of the alt images are better than others, so how about we try and work out which ones are the ones people are after and how they could be improved.
Before we all get too excited, NO, BURN STILL CANT CHANGE THE ALT CLASSES/RARITIES/ETC. so there will be no direct game changes.
But we do have alt hunt thread at the top of the page here which is still running, and there is potential for more games/battles similar to BB's war on Wingz that could possibly maybe potentially even have prizes*.
*Existence of any 'prizes' is still TBC
As the inventor of the original althunt back in 2005, and organiser of a shedload of the previous tourneys here, I'm thinking we can continue the fun, and Burn is on board with it as long he doesn't actually have to do any of the heavy lifting (and he can get regular breaks so to watch his country lose at the rugby.)
So, the question is: What alts would you fight over, and just how hard would you be willing fight for them?

Just to be clear:
Are people limited to the pictures in the altmode threads, or any mode with an ID number (which would include Sharkticons/Allicons/& a couple others), or any mode that is in the image database?

As far as I know, everything in the image list is available in some form as an alt.
As for the shark/allicon etc. alts, they are 100% Burns call. If he wants to allow them he can, as *IF* we ever get to the point of adding prizes, he's the one who has to make the updates.

Making this quick as I'm swamped at work.
Behold, the ramming and strafing Sharkticon (that used to be a Squirrel)
And this is how it's done.
So that's what I can do. All I ask is that people be patient in the event of any rewards.

A rare glimpse behind the veil.... Oooooooooh

Out of curiousity, in the "Transform Type" dropdown is there an option for "None" or "Actionmaster" or anything like that? Could be cool for those that want a pretty picture action master or...
Also out of curiousity is there a second Sharkticon or QuintSharkticon option in the Image dropdown?
Sometime down the road this
would make a cool contest. It should be fine as long it is formatted as just a tank and not an Overcharge Drone with 3 tactics.
Another someday contest: Revenge of the Fallen
As for more mundane picks. At some point I'd like a crack at the Zamboni
and the Turkey
just for the lulz

Second Bun-Bun on the quint related alts - faces, sharkticon, allicon, etc. Personal favourite of mine was the Sith Infiltrator, want it for my Hunter-Killer Drone Leader.
On a side note, what if, in the event of rewards being distributed, the organisers where to receive something as well. Wingz and Bun-Bun for example, put a fair amount of work into the recent One Week War, as I understand it.

Do you mean the old school one I was using for a while

I appreciate the thought but I'm cool. I just wanted to try and inject some life back into this forum. Wingz though did go above & beyond tracking with her spreadsheet though so if she wanted one I'm cool with that.Overwatch wrote:On a side note, what if, in the event of rewards being distributed, the organisers where to receive something as well. Even though I'd participate in these competitions I probably wouldn't keep any Alt mode won for very long. I'm constantly reformatting to try different setups and test mechanics (not changing anythign during the 1WW was probably the hardest part for me

Speaking of.... time to make some changes

Unless they're named as something else, a quick look says there's no "Quintessons". There's also only one Sharkticon.
And apparently I can set characters to have no tactics but have an alt mode. Haven't tested it though (I kinda slept in ...)

"Judge", "Face of ****", "Magistrate", "Prosecutor"...
It was a pipedream really that they'd still be in there but thanks for looking.

I generally found them to be part of the filename?
e.g is it possible this would be 'altmode_judge'?

And adding alts to action masters is utterly pointless, but pretty cool nonetheless,

My commitment to the Alien Monster theme is strong. As such there are only 2 'bot modes I covet.
The so-called creature41, Draconian Creature, seemingly based on Vertigo from Primal Rage but also looks like an Alien Queen. An on-theme Helpful Land Animal would be great.

The other is 233, the Displacer Beast or Panther/Squid Fuzor. A Ferocious Land Animal, I'm trying to make strafe work but it's tiring.

Tying to keep theme regardless of tactics sucks sometimes but I'd rather my team look the way I want. I do love that Harpy is an Opportunistic Land Animal rather than Opportunistic Air Animal despite her obvious wings. I wouldn't mind a Predator or Hunter on my roster.

Righteous.
Follow up question. Anyone recognize where these Alts come from?

I have a hunch they are Warhammer related as they were added by Mkall when he was in charge and Jeep (a former mod) made up a bunch of monster alts based on the Games Workshop line.
Don't recognise them individually though. One of the other brits might.

Ha, Thanks.
I know they aren't from Warhammer since I have all the other Tyranid (Alien Monster Faction) Alts.
Been digging through Godzilla Wiki and Wayne Barlow art trying to figure it out.

Some of the modes currently in the game came out of here
Some are even labeled.
If you have the time to go through it you may find your answer... Or you could just marvel at all the awesome modes that likely never will be used

Thanks Bun, I got the answer to my questions. Plus instructions on how to make. This should entertain me for several hours. Also photobucket is a nightmare. I haven't been in ages. Don't go without sufficient AdBlock software.
if anyone was wondering I asked about in order:
Draudnu (D&D)
Crustacean Rex (Godzilla Animated)
Crackler (Godzilla Animated)
