Now, for the stuff that sucked about the film.
Last time i checked the name of the movie was "Return of the Jedi"zoso504 wrote:Spider-man 2 was the "Empire Strikes Back" and this was the "Jedi Returns."

Predaprince wrote:Okay, just got home from seeing it the first time and hear is my two cents.
First, it was better than I thought it would be since I worried about it having three villians given what three villians did to the Batman movies.
Second, James Franco (Harry) wasn't excellent, but it was the best performance he has done in these films. This time his acting was good whereas, in the first two, it was sub-par.
Now, for the negatives: (most revolve around Venom because he is my favorite Spidey character even more than Spidey)
1.) They never even said Venom in the entire thing.
2.) Topher Grace did ok (nothing against him personally), but I am a huge fan of the 90's show and, in the show, Eddie Brock was not an exact copy of "bad" Parker. He was maybe 10 years older and much larger built. I don't like the whole skinny Venom.
3.) When the symbiote first takes over Parker it appears to grasp onto his suit altering it into the new suit, which makes sense since Parker is later able to take it off and put it in the chest, but then when he removes the symbiote there is no other suit underneath. Again, I like it in the 90's show where the symbiote can change appearance to become Peter's clothes.
4.) (maybe) It is great to see Ted Raimi and Bruce Campbell with bit parts once more, but Peter should have, at least, said something to Campbell's character like: "Hey, haven't I seen you before???"
Other than these four opinions/suggestions, this movie did great, it is understandable that Venom had to be destroyed at the end, since it was a movie and not a many-episode show, but I do hope that they do continue the sequels and come up with a way to bring in Carnage and, even though it seems highly impropable, the return of Venom.

I agree with negatives 1 and 2. The director should give the fans what they want not what he wants. Why did they hype Venom up soo much through the posters, tv spots and the toy line. He's named Venom as a toy so why no spoken name in the film?
Senor Hugo wrote:They tried to bring in wayyyy too many characters in one movie, so a lot of things had to be cut out, so the characters couldn't be fleshed out totally, or in some cases, at all.

It's Sam Raimi. Aren't fun, cheesy movies supposed to be his speciality?

"I hated it" is three words.
uhhhhhhhhhhhh is not a reason for anything.
Supreme Convoy wrote::BOT: In general, I walked out of the theater feeling bummed out.
There are some elements that I liked. Flint Marko/Sandman is great. Just like Doc Ock, he has a convincing motivation to what he's doing.
Pretty much all the action scenes are amazing to watch.
I love the whole Evil Dead feel with some of the symbiote scenes. Especially when it's crawling out of the ground, looking like Ash's chopped off hand.
Bruce Campbell is teh awesome.
I also didn't like the Saturday Night Fever and Jazz scenes. I think the audiences responded so much to "Rain Drops Keep Falling on My Head" in Spidey 2, the filmmakers felt we needed more scenes like that. Didn't work so much this time around.
Is it me or did all the Peter/Mary Jane scenes have the worst dialogue? It seriously reminded me of Hayden Christensen & Natalie Portman in Episode III.
And the butler? Deux ex machina. Nuff said.

4) I was expecting something similar.
