Starscream Fangirls- Yay or Nay? (NOT A TROLLING TOPIC!)

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

Anyway, Starscream IS sexy (whether it's intentional or not) because of his lean, winged body with those hot boots of his as well as his saucy attitude and behavior.

And, we do NOT have to think only saints are the sexy kind, nor the marrying kind. It IS a fantasy that we all enjoy regardless of the character's original character development, of course.

Hmm, where to start. OK, I'll start from the beginning.

A) I'm entitled to my opinion, so don't tell me to shut my trap. If any thing, you shut yours. This is my topic.

B) I don't still consider it baby stuff, meathead. Children are different from babies. It's a kids' franchise, isn't it? That's why they release toys marketted towards kids. That's why you have cartons marketted towards kids. I have no problem with fandom, since most fans act like normal people, not freakin' idiots with crushes on feminine male robots from a kids' show. I wonder if Barbie has the same problem, with grown men fawning over Barbie? I never said anyone had to outgrow anything, I just find it totally and utterly pathetic when grown women are talking about characters in shows designed for KIDS like they're their dream man. Talk about ****ing lame.

And that paragraph about his body and crap, that's seriously ****ed up. Honestly. Those boots? His jet boosters in plane mode. His personality? Why is it that people rip on French people for acting the same way Starscream does in the war? If you think Starscream's hot, you must think Cobra Commander's absolutely freakin' orgasmic. And going By Starscream's behaviour, I'm willing to bet Scooby-Doo and Shaggy tickle your fancy, and you're an Al Bundy kind of woman as well (Not that there's anything wrong with old Al.)"Saucy Behaviour. Pffft, please.

I have no problem with Starscream FANS, i.e. the ones who like Starscream's character and think he's an interesting character, as I said. But then there's people like THIS who need to keep it in their pants.

I think a few to many of them bypass Seibertron and don't realise it, but like ,every new member that pops up is most likely a female.

T%hats Bender ,Bending ,Rodriguez to you pal :-P What has shocked me about girls and Starscream is that he's such a puss  No girl I know would ever hook up with someone like that.
Funny thing I read somewhere that in France Screamer was voiced by a female or at least by a VERY affeminate guy.

I'd be more inclined towards Prime myself--tall, strong...blocky...can beat any mech's ass. And his voice is pretty darn cool.

Yeah, Screamer was a chick in France. And the reason he looks the way he does in robot mode kinda owes to the shape of the toy. But the whole chick in France thing is pretty funny, because when you think about it, it adds a very intersting spin to a lot of scenes, etc. Come to think of it, maybe the grovelling awakens the inner Dominatrix in most chicks with him?

Wish I could have some of those ladies outfits, nice pics by the way. And you're right sto_vo_kor, those are drawn to be sexy. Even as a female I can admit that they are aesteticly pleasing. And I'm not afraid to admit that when I was 13 or so I had a crush on Starscream. I grew up and my tastes in things I found attractive in people and fictional characters changed. Yes, I do think that there are fictional characters out there who are attractive and sexy and really really hot. There is nothing wrong with that. If there was then romance novels and magizines like Playboy or Heavy Metal wouldnt exist beacause they wouldnt sell. Food, shelter, and reproduction are primary drives hardwired into our brains. The fourth drive is to protect ones cubs, mate, and self; generally in that order. We, as humans, tend to find attractive qualities we desire in a mate. Personally I believe that finding a cartoon character attractive is no real issue to get riled up about. Or call people tragic or losers over. Just because it isnt live action doesnt mean theres not a real person behind it. I mean there was someone who came up with the character concept and persona, as well as a voice actor to breathe life into it. Starsream wasnt created from vaccuum, several someones worked very hard to make him kinda like Tolkeen and Orlando Bloom put some serious work into Legolas.

BTW if girls liking Starsream bothers you so much I suggest you never go to a fanfiction site...believe me robots should be the least of your worries.

It may be a topic you started, but it is in now way your own little kingdom in which to rule over and insult people, even if they insulted you first. This isn't the first grade.

And Secondly;

I could make lists of weird crap that men sexually obsess over, but we'd be here all night if I did.

To sum it all up: Hentai. Both genders are guilty though.

As I have seen it, the whole 'Starscream is Sexy' thing is just a bunch of squealing girls. If you've ever been to an Anime convention, you'd see girl's sexually obsessed over a lot weirder things then a robot.

Two things are appealing to girls because it's primal instinct:

Power & kindness.

It's women's instinct to look for a guy who's powerful so they can protect you and stuff, but at the same time want a guy to be sensitive and kind to them.

Armada Starscream's a giant robot; power's pretty much his middle name. The whole Starscream/Alexis deal showed us his 'kind' side.

I can't say why some girls choose to focus their affections towards Starscream, anymore that I can say why guys focus their affection to Wonder woman or Princess Laya (sp?).

And wa-la, there you have it.

Some people are just weird though and take it waaaaaay farther then it ever should.

It's not just fangirls either. Guys are guilty too.

But see, why can't more female Transfans reach Neko's level of awesome? Seriously, I ain't just sucking up, I've met some pretty cool female Transfans, and Neko's top of the heap. Mainly because she's normal in comparison to certain others.

What about moi? I also like Spiderman, but not because he's "sexy"...ok, I do like muscles, but I think his powers are just awesome. It's like wish fulfilment at its best! I think all of this is about, and some of us have different takes on it. I like Starscream because he's a 25 ft tall robot that turns into a jet and he has delusions of grandeur though he usually fails miserably.

First off I'm a Starscream fangirl (I consider myself a fangirl though by your definition Damolisher I'd be a Starscream fan) so this naturally caught my attention. I'm not one of those people who would try and wring your neck if you said something negative about him. However I more often than not unintentionally jump down someone's throat without realizing it so sorry ahead of time. I also like to be detailed with my responses so this post has taken me quite a while to put together. I also may go back and edit this post if I feel I need to elaborate.

Damolisher wrote:I rekcon most writers are ignorant of the fact that there are female Transformers fans out there, since the writing is quite obviously geared towards dudes.

Hmm, I've got to disagree with that. Why? This site's pretty big from what I can see and I think that it has caught the attentions of the people who actually write/draw the comics/cartoons unless I read that post they had on the news thingy wrong. (Can't remember the name of the thing or the post at the moment.) Although the commercials and other advertisements don't directly try to influence females into buying their products by not putting girls in the advertisements just by making their characters, the majority of which are male, aesthetically pleasing to the female (or male if you're gay) eye it will naturally attract female (or male) attention.

Besides, it's only natural to want something you can't or in this case never will have. It's what makes us human. Don't believe me? Try telling me that you've never wanted to do some hot movie star/singer knowing that you'll probably never meet them.

Damolisher wrote: And why are there no girls in Toy commercials for Transformers? Seriously- writers and artists are't doing anything in Transformers for females. I think a few to many of them bypass Seibertron and don't realise it, but like, every new member that pops up is most likely a female.

In America (where I'm at) things like Transformers are discouraged as "girl toys" because they're not feminine and there's an unsaid fear of girls growing up to be masculine if they spend time playing with G.I. Joe and the like instead of Barbie. From what you've said it seems that New Zealanders (sorry if I'm wrong about that) feel the same way.

Damolisher wrote:Come to think of it, maybe the grovelling awakens the inner Dominatrix in most chicks with him?

That I'd have to agree with you on.

Neko wrote:Two things are appealing to girls because it's primal instinct:

I agree, at least partially, mostly about the power stuff. Kindness would be more of an emotional, not instinctual, cause for attraction in my opinion.

Neko wrote:Armada Starscream's a giant robot; power's pretty much his middle name.

You hit the nail on the head.

Neko wrote:I can't say why some girls choose to focus their affections towards Starscream, anymore that I can say why guys focus their affection to Wonder woman or Princess Laya (sp?).

My opinion (this can be considered non-intellectual): He's the angsty pretty boy of the TF universe. It's like some kind of infection to lust after those kinds of guys because they (fangirls, the kind you don't want to insult a favorite character in front of for fear of being mauled) think that there will be some kind of miracle change of heart. I don't know why that's attractive but it is. It's some kind of instinct to comfort those who are hurt or angsty in Starscream's case.

Neko wrote:And wa-la, there you have it.

Neko wrote:Some people are just weird though and take it waaaaaay farther then it ever should.

Agreed. Those are the people I avoid. They're truly scary.

Like some of us said here, some of the most adoring Screamy fangirls are ALREADY happily married, BTW.

My two cents - and remember the rules, ok?

But the whole chick in France thing is pretty funny, because when you think about it, it adds a very intersting spin to a lot of scenes, etc. Come to think of it, maybe the grovelling awakens the inner Dominatrix in most chicks with him?

:-? Make me think of MB2 in a whole new lite

Losers, pathetic, tragic, lame?
Ive heard those terms a lot in my life.
Applied to people who like something that someone else doesnt understand or care to understand.
To people who like Star Trek, Star Wars, Transformers, reading comic books, watching cartoons, reading books, spending time on the internet, playing vidiogame, playing wargames, playing games on the internet.
I was pushed around a lot when I was in school because I enjoyed reading, enjoyed writing and drawing. In my classmates eyes that made me a loser, pathetic, lame.
Those fangirls arent hurting anyone, they may annoy people, but they arent hurting anyone.
Please reconsider using those words.
I personally think they are better used to describe people like child molesters or rapists.
Except for tragic and thats best used to discribe Chinese drama. :P

Hmm, I've got to disagree with that. Why? This site's pretty big from what I can see and I think that it has caught the attentions of the people who actually write/draw the comics/cartoons unless I read that post they had on the news thingy wrong.

Well, to be 100% honest.......I had no idea that there were so many female fans here.Even when I first starting talking to MB2[and if you ask her she'll tell you] I thought she was a dude.Maybee it was ignorant of me but unless you announce it it would be hard to tell just from the posting's them selfs.
