Stop making Transformers movie sequels petition
I have created a petition to stop Paramount Pictures from producing another Transformers live action sequel, or "evolution" before it is too late! Michael Bay did a "decent" job with the trilogy, and I enjoyed them, but it is time for no more sequels. Please visit this petition, sign, then share with everyone you know you actually wants to see the second great Transformers film because I think we can all agree that the original 1986 film was great, even for a cartoon!

1. Online petitions do nothing.
2. Hasbro and Paramount don't care what you think.
3. No, just no.
4. Did I mention no? Because no.
5. I'll see you in line for Transformers 4.

So you think an online petetion to stop a movie series that has made Hasbro and Paramount a metric ass-ton of money will make them reconsider their choices? Good luck my misguided friend.

Should I go with a joke about the side effects of drugs, 'you're outta your skull' or just straight up go with a hearty 'what the cr*p'?

Not to meantion the series as well as other toy lines (generations for example) that the profit from the movies helped kick off.

Yeah, Hasbro and Paramount don't give a damn about what you think. Your efforts are in vain. You are fighting against inevitability; dust struggling against cosmic winds. You have changed nothing. Your petition will fall, Bay will make another movie, you will beg to join us when we get tickets the the midnight premiere of TF4.

What everyone else said.
Now, Battleship getting sunk (Worse opening weekend than John Carter, ouch!) by The Avengers this past weekend? That might slow down plans for TF4/TF-Reboot. Maybe.

How many of these petitions are we going to go through until the next sequel? Over 9000?

Considering that Battleship was only made so Universal could hold onto the license*, I doubt it. Paramount and Hasbro know they have a good thing going with the Transformers films. No amount of critical scorn can stop the series from succeeding. Battleship was just a throwaway effort by Universal and Hasbro got involved because it was their game.
*Note: Studios have done this before. The horrendous Roger Corman Fantastic Four movie, for example, was made so the license to the characters could be held onto. Usually a license to make a film is lost if you don't make one after a certain amount of time. Universal probably considered making a film and getting at least some money out of it better than just dropping money on the license again if it stagnated. The Transformers film series and it's success probably contributed to the plan too.

Well I'm sorry a lot of you are sarcastically skeptical of what the idea behind the petition is. Although we can say we "enjoyed" the films, they are still not as well sculpted and thought out as they should of been. It was nice that third movie grew a pair and had humans killed in it, and the first movie was alright, but you can't ignore that you're just letting yourself be duped again. Think of what happen to Dragon Ball when they made it a live action film (Dragon Ball Evolution), or how about Avatar The Last Airbender. Don't get me started on the 1998 Godzilla film. Sure it was a good "action" film but not a good Godzilla film. Hence why Toho created Godzilla 2000 the next year, and had "Zilla" killed off in Godzilla Final Wars. When people become complacent with how things are spoon fed to them you get things like this:
http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Michael- ... 30137.html
Yes, Michael Bay continues to tamper with some of the best 80's cartoon series that ever were. I also think a lot of you fail to realize that without demand, there is no driving force for a product to continue. So if you're contempt with being bent over and spoon fed another movie, more than likely up your ass, then by all means don't sign the petition. I mean its not like petitions to bring back Toonami worked.... oh wait a minute

Yeah, sure, speaking up about something doesn't help. Realize I'm not even a child of the 80's, I'm actually trying to help all of you older folk out there with understanding you deserve better! I mean thank god that the Avengers movie was kick ass to fill in some major gaps, but you can't let yourself get cheated again. Don't be the idiot that lets the hot chick think you're going to get laid, but instead humiliates you in front of everyone. You all have voices, and entertainment driven companies are dependent on what you have to say, but only when "all are one"!
You all have the touch, you all have the power to make change. Take hold of it, work together, and get the Transformers movie you deserve!

2005 Transformers was suffering a 'bit of a slump' popularity wise. i looked at the unicron trilogy as a bit of a joke
2012 Its going from strength to strength, we have games, generations and everything to do with Prime
If the revenue and attention thats coming our way is in ANY way down to 3 moderately **** films then let them do it. I dont give a damn about the movies, i dont care what they do with the continuity because we have enough continuities now that i can just ignore it, and im sorry but a fan petition to bring back toonami is not the same as stopping the making of a multimillion dollar blockbuster that is making some very powerful people '**** rich' (not just rich, **** rich)
i respect the attempt, its utterly futile. they will stick with the guys that print money, not the guys that do cerebral storytelling, you would be better off campaigning for a decent writer. and since the guy is already writing the next one, again, petition fails

Actually, none of us were duped. We enjoyed the films. Telling us we were somehow "fooled" into enjoying them makes you look like an idiot, hate to say.

Lets point out the flaws in your argument here:
1. Dragonball Evolution lead to nothing stateside. The creation of Dragonball Kai was in the works long before that.
2. An Avatar sequel series (Legend of Korra) was also in the works, but the movie was scheduled first.
3. The making of new Godzilla films past "Godzilla In Name Only" had nothing to do with fan input, but rather the Toho wresting control of the franchise back from Tristar Films because they were pissed at how the film turned out. It took them two Godzilla films after that to make one that didn't suck.
4. The original creator of the Ninja Turtles has expressed interest in the new movie's interpretation. Hate to break it to you.
Yes, Michael Bay continues to tamper with some of the best 80's cartoon series that ever were. My my aren't you getting a little miffed. Here's the problem with this statement. There is a demand for more films. Public opinion of the films ranks higher than critical opinion. Even the "worst of the three" has a high viewer approval score on Rotten Tomatoes. This is what people want. Stop dictating that you're somehow the "voice of the people," because you're not. You're merely screaming about not getting what you want. You're also being very rude about it.
It's also hard for him to screw with a series that has a different continuity in every incarnation, even the ones that are supposed to share continuity.

I mean its not like petitions to bring back Toonami worked.... oh wait a minute
A time block of cartoons with a certain host and a certain name are different than a multi-million dollar per film blockbuster series that rakes in at least a billion dollars per film for massive profits.
Yeah, sure, speaking up about something doesn't help. Realize I'm not even a child of the 80's, I'm actually trying to help all of you older folk out there with understanding you deserve better! There we go again with you shoving your viewpoints, opinions, and desires down our throats in an attempt to turn us over to your side or convince us we don't want another film while making those who want another film look like strawmen. Let me make this clear:
You do not speak for everyone. You are not some crusader on a quest to liberate us from anything. Just because YOU were not happy with the films does not mean WE weren't, or that we somehow have buyer's remorse.
With all that said, just stop trying to convince people to sign it. If they want to, they will. If not, so be it. Getting on a soap box will not make things better, it'll just make us annoyed with you.

You have to see by mothers people's opnions.Just because you didnt like doesn't mean other people didn't.And if you don't like the movies you can watch other Transfomers cartoons.
A petition would be too much extreme, its not like the movies are hurting you or something like that.
I suppose you never watched this series.
Michael Bay is not the only one working on that film,he is not the writer or the director and the ninja turtle creator aproved.
I think Capt.Failure mostly nailed it.Try thinking of others people's opinions.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I know TF is a license to print money, and there's no way they'll give it up, it's just that there's a ton of money (200+ million) tied up in Battleship, and not making that back (at least right away) has got to hurt Universal. Projects in the pipe might find their budgets cut as a result. Barb Wire crashing and burning pretty much took the MST3K movie with it, after all.

Yeah, but Corman's F4 was made on a shoestring budget, and wasn't actually released.

It would be a rational fear, however Universal dropped the bomb that was Battleship. Paramount, a completely different producer, funnels money to Hasbro for Transformers. I doubt Paramount is worried about Universal's mistakes. After all we still got The Avengers after Spiderman 3, Daredevil, Electra, and a few other Marvel comic films flopped from different producers. Hell, even the Hulk (the good one) was a failure and we still got The Avengers.
