Yeah, it's most likely Astrotrain was meant to be Megatron, but Astrotrain was the new toy out at the time and so they had to advertise it. So instead we get an Astrotrain who acts in very Megatron-like in this episode.Scatterlung wrote:I believe the episode was originally written with different characters in mind (most likely Starscream in Astrotrain's place, etc), but things were changed up to sell the newer toys at the time.

Anyway, the toon comes to mind where megs is thought dead and screamer travels to cybertron and demands that shockwave do as he says. Also orders him not to contact megs.
I Think there is also an epp where screamer makes a general threat to gun down the next con to second guess an order he has given. The surrounding cons look at their feet and there is silence.
In any event I agree. Still there is a problem with consistancy with reguards to screamers authority here.

By that image, you can guess who is one of my favorite TF character ever, all series combined.
G1 Starscream is a comic relief of sort. He's so arrogant, blunt, and stupid, it give him a charm. Why he's second in command? Easy: Megs want to have TOTAL control. So he keep an idiot at his side. But the 'cans way is the strongest and most cunning get to be the leader. Megs know very well of Starscream's intentions. Jeez, Screamers even bluntly tell him that one day he'll stab him in the back to lead! At this, Megs just respond to STFU.... because Megs must not become rusty and must be on guard at all times.
However, the most inteligent and cunning Starscream is the one in Cybertron or Galaxy Force. He's wise, very sly, cunning, and actually become almost a friggin' GOD! He even took on PRIMUS HIMSELF! Okay, that last part, he overestimated himself a bit, but it was still totally awesome.
The other most bad-ass Starscream is defenitely the one in TF:Prime. I cant wait to see more so final judgement can be made.
Runner-up is Animated Starscream. Funny, immortal, and shitstorm brewer. What's not to love?
Depends on which comics you're talking about.decepta-scott wrote:I have heard several times that the comic starscream was a monster who regularly took on and beat top notch autobots and cons. By what Ive read(others post) it would not be an exageration to say that the cons and a few autobots cower to strscream. He was interprited as intelligent, powerful, the undesputed second in command and feard as one bad ass mo fo.
I have never read the actual comics but I have never seen anyone argue that any of the comments were inaccurate. So the comic screamer would be at the top of most able screamer incarnations. I wish he were portreyed that way in the G1 toons.

What I mean is, different TF comics portray Starscream differently.decepta-scott wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Depends on which comics you're talking about.decepta-scott wrote:I have heard several times that the comic starscream was a monster who regularly took on and beat top notch autobots and cons. Yes. Now that you mention it I believe that the screamer which I am refering to was in the comic written by an author that was/is a fan of his. I believe he always makes sure screamer is portreyed as a toughy.

Are you talking G1 Transformers comics, or Transformers comcis in general?decepta-scott wrote: Yeah. I guess I didnt specify. As I understood it, Theyre were around five comics(?)
and two of them had the same writer. That writer liked screamer and made sure that he was portreyed as a bad ass. Good stuff Im sure. Wish I could get my hands on some of them.......
