The straw that broke the cammel's back.

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

The straw that broke the cammel's back.

Postby Saber Prime » Mon Feb 11, 2008 8:42 pm

I like how suddenly everyone thinks they know better than the creators of Transformers.

The wrighters said his name was Brawl, Hasbro says his name was Brawl but the little text in the movie that no one with a life ever bothers to read says his name is Devistator so his name must be Devistator and the wrighters and Hasbro are both wrong.

Oh and here's my verry favorite. Saber Prime says his name is Brawl and he's allways wrong we're allways right so logically he has no idea what he's talking about.

And I'm tired of this argument "You said bla bla bla and now you're saying bla bla bla" Well guess what. I have never ever changed something I said or something someone else has said to make my point, that's what you have done to me.

Recent example "You said Devistaror wasn't used in the movie" No I didn't if you go back and read my original post and every post after that they all say the same damn thing. The name Devistator was from the leaked script and is not the character's actual name, his name is Brawl end of subject.

I'm tired of this. I really am. Anything I say even if I have evidence to back it up is automatically wrong just because I said it. I'm tired of it, I'm tired of people starting arguements with me. I'm tired of people doing their happy little "I'm right your wrong" dances even when they're not. I'm tired of people saying "That's not sufficient evidence because bla bla bla" and but when they do it it's perfectly acceptible because bla bla bla.

You ask for a video showing Autobots flying in G1, I show you that video and your reply is "Oh no he's just jumping really high"

You sight wiki as a source for information and it's the allmighty fact. I sight wiki as a source for information and it's an untrustworthy source of information.

I say Transformers Animated is a continuation of G1 because they used G1 footage in the first episode you say "No the wrighters said it wasn't" Now you say Brawl's name is Devistator because that name shows up in the movie for less than a second and you know better than wrighters who said his name was Brawl.

I'm tired of this treatment. You want to get your little satifaction of being right all the time get it somewhere else. I'm tired of playing this game with you. You want to sit there and think your right go right ahead I don't care.

Every time one of these arguments starts you continue to argue with me long after I've proved you wrong untill someone comes in complaining about it and then I'm the first to try and get back on topic while you continue to missquote me and make yourself look good.

Obviously I'm not in the mood for this kinda bull. I've had a horrible start to the new year wakeing up to find my dog dead, I'm still haveing nightmares about that and rather than hearing alot of "I'm sorry for your loss" and stuff like that I get the "It's forbidden to bump your own topics" and then everyone just lets my k-9 topic fade away.

I'm betting this topic will be locked in 5 min. and before then I'll get 10 posts saying "Oh you're dog died, well too bad get over it." And I allso garantee that if it was anyone else you're reply would be "Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to be so rude."

Granted I allso suffer from parinoia so maybe I just think everyone's out to get me but hey I can't help that and you sure as hell aren't giving me any reason to think you're not. Just addmit it, you all see "Saber Prime" and go "Oh hey lets see how we can piss him off today." What the hell did I do to any of you to deserve this kind of treatment? Why the hell aren't I being treated with the same respect as everyone else on this site?

There's a woman on this site who can't even form anything close to resembiling a sentence who gets more respect than I do. Granted I was informed the reason for that was because of an illness but I don't see anyone correct her grammor or spelling. Yet I do see people treating me as if I was a normal healthy person. Guess what, I'm not, I'm mentally unstable, especially now. So maybe you might want to think about that before pissing me off or makeing me feel unwelcome here.

I recommened this site to several Transformers fans durring the time I've been a member here and this is the kind of thanks I get.

This isn't just a few people anymore, it seems like everyone is doing it now.

And by "Mentally Unstable" I mean that I suffer from Parinoia, seveer depression, and memory loss. From before I was even born some woman who thinks my mom killed her son threated to kill me and my brother. I've lived with that knowledge and because of it I allways think everyone is out to get me, talking about me behind my back. I litterally get nervice at any time when someone is walking or standing behind me. I even yelled at a Pack 'n Save employee who was just collecting carts in the parking lot because I thought he was stalking me. I'm verry "moody" right now, don't really like that word but can't think of anything better to say because of my dog's death and because of my depression I can't simply forget that like most can. Maybe I'm acting like a child but guess what, I'm allmost 22.

Besides we're on a web site talking about Transformers, what could be more childish than that. You know why I still colect Transformers? I can't remember most of my childhood. To me it feels like I never had one. I wake up in the morning and I can't remember crap about what I did the day before. The only memorys that seem to stick with me are the ones I don't want to have. So thanks for adding to my memories.

Now you have 2 choices here.

A. You can insult everything I just said, lock this topic, and kick me off the fourms.

or

B. You can do the right thing and change your additudes twards me. Stop dissrespecting me and assumeing your right even when your wrong. Stop asking for evidence and then saying it's not good enough when I do provide it. And just generally treat me with the same respect that you yourself want in return.

I know someone is going to say "respect has to be earned" but guess what, it works both ways. I can't treat you with respect if you can't do the same for me. I've done nothing to deserve this misstreatment but you sertainly have earned this dissrespectfull topic.

However bad you feel right now after reading this, garantee I feel 100 times worse wrighting it.

There's a few things you need to remember.
This is a forum surrounding a franchise of toy robots that turn into cars and planes.
Grow up.
Don't like what you read? Water off the duck's back, man. I laugh at anyone who takes anything here to heart like you have, and from other people. You don't know these people in real life and they don't know you, and we're all essentially talking about one topic, Transformers.
So, get back to me when you grow a spine
P.S., I say his name is Brawl because Hasbro owns the character and they say so, so that's good enough reason for me.

Okay, so are you directing this at anyone person in particular SP (as you use "you" a lot) or a group of people in general?

But here's some tips in life.

• Assholes exist in the world. You're going to run into them a lot in life. Best way to deal with them is to not let them get to you.

• Differences in opinion happen. Some people are right, some people are wrong. Some people don't respect the opinions of others, and some people are too stubborn to admit when they're at fault. Like assholes, don't let them get to you. It WILL drive you nuts.

• Letting a discussion on an internet forum get to you? Not good. Best to walk away and calm down, or simply press the back button. Just remember, no one's forcing you to read a thread or reply to it.

• Spelling and grammar is a big thing, I know some people have learning disabilities or suffer from dyslexia, I don't know if this applies to you but people tend to go after those more who constantly have poor spelling and grammar, and I mean this without any offense SP, but your posts are hard to read at times. I know a number of people actually type their replies up in Word (or some other word processing program) and use the spelling/grammar checker there and then copy and paste over to here. May be a little bit of extra work but it'll help get your points across better.

• Did I mention not to take too much to heart? Yeah, really. Don't let these things get to you. Because despite our apparent differences you do get involved in a number of topics and add a different take on things. And more variety is always a good thing. 8)

One more thing to consider dude, you say respect works two ways. Well realize that it's hard for people to respect you if you act like a child, and comments like this

then everyone just lets my k-9 topic fade away.

do you know favors.

Topics run their course. Generally the only ones that thrive are the "spammish" ones (basically where people can just kick back and be silly). Your K-9 one, while a good topic, just ran it's course. It's not because people allowed it to fade away (and i'm sure people don't like the "you didn't pay my topic enough attention" attitude), it's because people simply ran out of things to discuss about it. That is a regular thing on forums around the world.

I always thought you have a great sig and user name. I've enjoyed your posts as part of threads in the party forum and general discussion. It's true that some people don't know how to be nice. It's a shame that the nice ones don't post if they don't have anything important to say. Sorry about your dog; it was unexpected?

Just chill, man! And, Burn...how did you get so smart? Very good words indeed, and to be well-advised to heed.

It ain't worth being mad, man! Shake it off and move on.

For once BURN this wasn't directed at you as I've stoped reading many of your posts because of our differences in the past. Shockingly enough though you're the first reply I've had to this that didn't flame me. Maybe my original opinion of you was wrong so for that I appoligise. I made a bad judgement call on that one.

I don't even know who my friends are anymore. People I thought were my friends are starting to piss me off and people who use to piss me off are actully being nice? I'm so confused.

Seasons change and so do people. Everyone has off days and things may seem different at different times. I'm sorry you're depressed. Find something to laugh about (like a movie).

I can set aside the sillyness when necessary.

And I do understand what SP is going through because there's been times i've felt the same way because I took things too seriously. So now i've learnt to step back and not let things get to me. There are times i'll even type up a whole reply to someone, then press the back button because i've gotten it out of the system and realise if I had press submit it would have made things worse.

But most importantly, i've learnt not to let the seriousness of life get to me. My life has improved dramatically since I allowed myself to REALLY laugh and not let trivial things bring me down.

Yes you did. And I hope you can use this as an example and learn from it.

From the way I see things, (though i'm sure we'll disagree on this :P ) but it was you who would take offense to something I posted, even though offense wasn't intended, because you'd made a judgment about me. Did I hold it against you though? No. I shrugged it off. But I never ignored you either, if you posted something I agreed or disagreed with, i'd reply and say so.

Why? Because you're half way around the world. There's no point getting pissy at you because you have an opinion different to mine. There's no point allowing myself to think negatively of someone I barely know.

So I hope you learn from this. Just because people disagree with you doesn't mean they hate you or they're out to get you. Believe me, I know about paranoia (but I will admit, not to your extent) but when it comes to the internet, you've got to learn to step back and go "hey, it's not worth it", OR ... "hey, they could be right and I could be wrong". You'll be amazed at how much that can help you mentally.

I think we've all been guilty at one time or another at being offensive without really meaning to be. I know I've been guilty of that myself on several occasions and I allways end up appoligising for it later. I useually try to watch what I say when I'm talking to someone unless I know them really well or they set me off first.

If I know someone well enough then I can be comfterble talking to them without them being offended because they know how I speak and that I don't really mean it when I do seem offencive.

If they set me off first allmost 50% of the time it turns out to be a missunderstanding and then we both let it go and move on. The other 50% the other person is just being a jerk.

It's allso easier to tell if someone is really a jerk or it'll end up being a missunderstanding when you're actully talking to that person because I can useually hear the tone in the person's voice that lets me know they're being a smart ass, jerk, or whatever. Not so easy to pick up sarcastic remarks when I'm reading.

And yes I was put into special ed in the 3rd grade and stayed there all through school so my spelling and grammer really isn't what it should be. Spell check won't even pick up the grammer errors, it doesn't know to change out words that are spelled right but don't really belong in a sentence and it doesn't recognize names.

My reading is just as bad, so as much trouble as you have reading an understanding my posts is the same as I have understanding yours.

Yeah, they can only go so far. But generally if you have the time to use them then they will help a lot. How? Gotta quote this first.

My reading is just as bad, so as much trouble as you have reading an understanding my posts is the same as I have understanding yours.

I actually failed English in high school. But I found that through reading books, and reading/posting on forums, my vocabulary has improved dramatically.

Heck, thanks to Firefox's spell checker I discovered that surprise is actually spelt surprise and not suprise as i'd been spelling it for years.

So try out the spell/grammar checker for starters.

Something else you may want to try out is dictionary.com and it's sister site thesaurus.com. You're pretty good at creating TF characters of your own so throw some names into thesaurus.com and see what it throws back to you, then use dictionary.com to check out meanings and stuff. I've done it a couple of times and it's bloody good fun and you get to learn some funky words like "hecatomb"!

Well I know the part about Deverstator and Brawl is dirrected twards me.But you were the first one to try to correct me on that topic.....I was just trying answer your question on who died and didnt.

I'm not sure who your talking about with the flying Autobots video.

And I'm not going to rehash our other debate on this topic but let me say this.

We have had a lot of debates over the past year and I always respected your opinion and tryed to understand your point of view with out disrespecting you.

But about two weeks ago that all changed when you disrespected me and my family. You called me a liyer.

I had a point I was making that my early fatherhood came up and you out right called me a lyer about being a father at the age that I was.

Now other people may not take offence to that type of thein but I take great pride in the efforts I undertook in rasing my 3 daughters with absuluty no help from my family.

If you feel that I have been short with you since your probably right.

So I'll be the first to say I'm sorry.

I may have been holding onto some bad feelings because of what you called me and truth be told thats not like me.

I almost never hold a groudge.

I too have been going trew a routh time and that may have contrubited to my responces to you.

My helf has taken a turn for the worst with my developing a heart condision on top of my failing kidneys.

I do not want to discount you as a friend so again I'm sorry for my part in this.

As for your dog.....I had the same thing happen to my cat of 12 years last July so I know what your going threw.

I'm not sure if your dog was young or not.....not that it really makes it any eazier. My cat died at the rip old age of 24 years old so sometimes it helps to think at least she had a long life.

But I still cant get the picture out of my head of finding her dead in my dogs bed.

Look lets drop the other debate. Its pointless anyway.I would rather just forget about it.

I left a reply there before just forget it.

Weapon: Air Rifle
Dude! It was Devastator in the movie. It doesn't matter what it should've been, because the question was 'was devastator in the movie?' (or something to that effect).

Just pick your battles carefully, that's all. Don't pull a Tramp.
