Yeah, thats beyond odd. For the longest time he was talking about how he loved doing the Punisher film, how he believed in the character etc.

Really screwy news. I guess it just took Marvel way too long to get off their asses and get the second film moving.

Edit: After reading the whole AITCN article, I can't really blame Jane. He was a great Punisher, hopefully he'll keep doing the voice for the video games, if there are any more.

To be honest I don't blame him. He's sat on his hands waiting for this one to start into pre production for over 2 years. It's not surprising that he got tired of it and said **** it. Hell he was the biggest supporter until they kept rewriting the script over and over again. Sad, but I'll support him in his decision.

Damn. Well, if anything, he's free to try another project until they get the ball rolling on the next punisher film.

[explicit language] that's unfortunate. He did a really good job in as the Punisher in movie 1, just a crying shame that he won't be reprising his role as Frank Castle.

If marvel do make a 2nd, who do you think would be a good replacement?

i think someone like..Ray Liotta, Hugh Jackman, Dominic Purcell or possibly Liev Schreiber.

hmmm im not happy at all, sure the first one wasnt a great sucsess but it was still good!

as people have posted previously i hope they sort it out and get him back.

Apparently by some folks standards you are.

I hope someday the producers of Punisher 2 will find a suitable replacement for Tom Jane as the Punisher. Who knows?

They did. He's Ray Stevenson.
