I was just wondering what got everyone onto Transformers. What made you so interested in the Transformers? The Toys? the cartoon?

As for me, it was Beast Wars. I got my first TF toy (Razorbeast) a month before the show and then watched Beast Wars every time it came on.

I got into it as a little kid (G1) the concept of a toy that was both a vehicle AND a robot blew my mind...

I'm still getting used to the fact that the 1986 movie takes place 3 years in the past now.

As a kid i was into the big 3 growing up Star Wars was first He-Man second and Transformers third. In that order because thats when they came out. I really liked Star Wars because of the movies and toys and He-Man because of the cartoon and toys. It really was'nt until Transformers that i became passionate about something that as a kid i watched religiously and collected every chance i got for birthdays, christmas, easter, or any other time i could manage to get one! I treated these toys with reverence and took the best care of them that i possibly could. I kept every piece and bit of paperwork that came with the toys! I would have all out wars that would take hours after hours because of the amount of TFs i accumulated through the 80's and continue to this day! I remember the first TF i ever got was Cliffjumper and i've been hooked ever since i saw the first cartoon that glorious day so many years ago! :D

I started getting into TFs when I saw my first one at the toy store when I was 14 yrs old...Saved for weeks and tolerated neighbor's horrid children (baby-sitting) to get enough funds to buy Skywarp! That was all it took! By the end of the 80's, I had a sizable collection....sadly, I quit collecting and started unloading what I had to support a rather rabid and obscene habit I had acquired. I do miss some of them, but I was sane enough to hold onto the ones that held some sentimental value.

I started back into it again in mid-winter 2006, but have had little cash to re-buy all the ones I had sold off...Slow but sure, I will get things back in order! Thankfully enough, I never unloaded my Marvel TF comic collection...I still possess first-print copies of Marvel Transformers #1-#50-something! So things aren't TOO shabby!

Almost the same story.I was buying Transforming toys before the TF Brand was released.

Back home in NYC's China Town the Diaclone toys were eazy to get in the small gift shops and even before the TF brand got released I had 2 Diaclone Dinobots a few jets and Casset man.

When the TF line came out I was the cool kid on the block because I already had some.My first offical TF was Ironhide.

Afterwards I did every od job for the neighbors to have enough money to buy TF's.

I also still have every issue of the Marvel TF run.

I had acquired almost every TF from 84-87 and a few others. Unfortunately i had given them away and sold a few for a couple bucks along with any sports cards i had. I needed the money for shoes and clothes for my first year in high school. The only ones i had managed to end up keeping somehow were the throttlebots freeway and goldbug (still have them). I'm very lucky that i never sold my comic coll. which now ranges in about the thousands or ten thousand area. I also managed to keep my run of the original TFs series! Now i try to recollect all the old TFs that i had those many years ago. I've got a ways to go but pretty good so far. One day! :D

I watched the G1 show from day one and was instantly hooked, I only had about 6 transformers at best mostly the seeker jets and a couple of constructicons but those were lost a very long time ago.
When the G1 series was over I thought that was pretty much it forever but I never got into beast wars or any of the other shows but maybe some day.
When the G1 series came out on dvd I nearly had a heart attack I was so excited and my collecting started with some of the Heroes of Cybertron PVC figures then the Armada Unicron figure is what really started my serious collecting.

I'm trying nothing less than to complete a G1 series of figures, the more complete including a box etc the better, it does not have to be a perfect box but that and all the components is my preferred choice.

There are some 2007 movie figures and some other items too but I'd say my collection is about 95% G1 but as far as completeness of the G1 line well I'm not exactly sure but it's getting there! :D

Yeah it was the Cartoon for me, G1 That whole first Season. I was 6. I can still remember coming home after school, having my after school snack and watching it in my room. The first episode I saw, I think it was "More than Meets the Eye Part 2" , I remember wondering what was this I was watching. I thought It was so Cool, So much Suspense and Drama, The way they would talk to eachother and that Iconic Transformation sound. It became my after school Saga. I watched everyday after school from then on, new epsiodes and all. The first of an Era I was. I asked for the toys too For Xmas and B-Days and that got me even more hooked. I would recreate Wars and Battles in my room. I would even re-inact Episodes and say all their lines and make The Sounds. And then the 86' Movie? I made my mom take me to go see it in the Theatres, it changed my life at that time. I was so bothered the rest of that day.
Gosh...Who new 20 years later they would continue to fascinate me.

i was born too late for G1, and by the time i was playing with toys it was all but the end for G2 as well. i think was started it for me was when i used to go through my toy box of hand-me-downs as a kid and see these robots from some universe of toys, that as a kid, i thought was endless. i figured there were millions of transformers and gijoes out there. i had G2 grimlock and slag, g1 starscream and scattershot, ironworks and other micromasters, and a couple pretenders. my favorite scattershot, and i used to wonder why he had an attachable (bigger) head. little did i know.....and so i learned about he-man, gi joe, thundercats, silverhawks, starcom, bravestarr, blackstar, and ultimately, i found transformers held my interest, and its been the same since.
