My local geek store have a complete G1 Slingshot in great condition for only 25$can. I'll buy it then paint it into its G2 colors while keeping the G2 original safely in storage. This will be a hard custom to do. Especially because of the sticker details that needs to be copied by hand with paint.

Maybe you could lend your actual G2 Slingshot to Toyhax, or take scans of the wings if you've a flatbed scanner and send those to them, so that they can finally get their butts on doing some G2 labels already.

Well, I bought from eBay a set of G2 Slingshot wings. So only the tailfin will needed to be hand drawn on the G1 Slingshot. But those wings are pinned so it won't be easy. No way am I going to try and mod the ultra fragile and ultra expensive G2 Slingshot original. But the "cheap" and common G1, no problem.

I always thought that was a very good looking figure, the silver and black go well together. I regret selling mine.

Zelda, if you happen to have Kingdom Galvatron (either version), could you possibly take a picture with him and Cybertron Galvatron side by side? I'm just curious about the size difference and I no longer own either Megatron or Galvatron from the Cybertron line.

Cybertron Megatron, but it count for the size difference.



Old Leader Cybertron Megatron could be counted as a Commander Class easily by modern standards.

As could any Leader-class up to and including the DotM ones - that's how much the cost-per-mass ratio has shifted since then.

For the record, I don't have Kingdom Galvatron or any plans to get him unless I find him super-discounted. While he has some robot mode improvements compared to TR and a better cannon-mode sight... I'm not a fan of him lacking proper back spar (which he has in the cartoon as per the original toy - see below)...


...or the resulting kludge to make up for it in cannon mode.

(see how the cartoon cannon has a long thin rear support spar?)

TR also wins points for having the starfighter mode as a replacement official third mode (which Kingdom Galvy lacks) and for being able to be configured into an approximation of the original's pistol mode (which I've not seen with the Kingdom toy so far), albeit with a friction-hinged handle.

It has to be said that neither of them get the cartoon mounting of the cannon right (although Kingdom's side mount is less restrictive of elbow movement). But then, the cartoon mounting is kinda screwy - it's attached to the forearm, but in a way that makes it look like it's fitted to the upper arm.

Forgot to respond to this. I didn't have too much difficulty removing the pins on mine when I dismantled him for the reconstruction and the preventative filing).

However, merely scanning the wings would be easy - just furl them and scan one at a time by laying him on his side.

In my first years of TF collecting, I once foolishly bought a K.O Grimlock for way too much money, thinking it was a "reissue". The thing snapped in half at the 4th transformation. At least I had all the accessories so I bought a real but "naked" G1 Grimlock from my local geek store. With the K.O accessories, that Grimlock is "complete".

For that Menasor, I plan to slowly but surely find all the real bots and replace the K.O ones as I find them for a reasonable price. The hardest parts to find are always the damn accessories and for me, having real bots with fake accessories is the best compromise.

I'll apply the stickers on the bots, but not the rubsings. Can't apply the "proof of authenticity" afterall. Those will be for my customs only.

Got Kingdom Tigatron in from Amazon today! He's much better than Cheetor, but still has a few of his own odd quirks like his gun having no real storage, it just pegs in underneath him and hangs there. They upped his parts count to make him more worthy of the price point than just making him bigger.

2 new bots from last week. I finally said yes to Waspinator after passing a few times on Friday. Tigatron arrived from Amazon on Saturday.

I'm really pleased with both. I haven't had any issues with Waspinator that others have mentioned and really like him. I have the T-30 version and think Kingdom will be replacing it. And Tigatron is outstanding. The weapon storage isn't ideal, but honestly neither is Optimus Primal's or Rattrap's. Weapons just don't store well on beasts unless you tuck them inside somewhere.

It's because of the fully-fledged independent car mode. For better or for worse, it's not like the original toy where the Rodimus component is just a cab with legs that have no vehicle bits sticking out the back. The Rodimus component is now a full separate vehicle in its own right... and that means it can't tuck in as far. They could have done MP09 shenanigans, but it probably would have been a poor tradeoff.

I would have preferred not having the separate car mode and using some of the mass to make him be taller instead.

Agreed. Hasbro wanted to give us a straight update of the G1 figure, hence the separate trailer, so they should have done exactly that. Just have a robot that plugs into the trailer in vehicle mode, not have Rodimus have a separate vehicle mode. Or go fully the other way, that basically give us an update on a more recent figure, the PoTP leader, where the trailer combines with the Rodimus component more seamlessly, like Ultra Magnus, and we get a commander figure in both vehicle and robot modes. I don't think Rodimus's engineering had to be altered much for that. Honestly, this way we're getting a Hot Rod that attaches to a trailer. He's just named Rodimus.

But as I said, I'll be looking for the loose original bots to replace the KOs. As for the accessories, KO they shall remain.

Yesterday Entertainment Earth finally delivered on MP Thundercracker 2.0. Also yesterday got SS Dino in the mail, ordered him from Gamestop to get free shipping. Honestly thought the window had closed on him and he'd be going for ridiculous prices now, but he was only $20 and Amazon seems to be asking the same price.

Because last time I thought it was missing the spaceship's tower. Turn out I misstransformed it like an idiot. Then I found some more excuses to return it to Amazon for a full refund.

Then the Black Friday sale happened and the Ark was around 60$can cheaper than what I previously paid. At 135$can, it was now or never to get it back!

Hey if it was worth it, then no regrets. I personally don't like it much, but if I found it for cheap I would get it for the ship mode. The robot mode is just a big NO from me.

I wonder if the Ark will go cheaper than 135$CAN (105$US)?

The only way it can happen is if the Ark appear at Winners/Marshall on mad clearance for a few seconds like for so many other Transformers I guess.
