2) there's a stress fracture developing at one of his shoulder hinges, what's the best way to stop this. Fortunately, I've got another Grimlock coming so whichever one is in better condition will go on display and the other will become an attempt at a Soundwave custom.

So no oone has any solutions on this?

for the balljoint, i would try nail polish first-you could always try a combination of the two.

for the stress fracture, my best advice would be to get it as close to the normal position as possible and brush on a thin layer of superglue inbetween the areas and along the crease. It may not work perfectly but i suspect it will help

Just got a G1 Megatron, Encore. It seems that mine's upper chest has come off due to me pulling it so it would reveal the detail, it came off. Now, I cannot get it back in on track with the pellet shooter spring thingy.

The pellet shooter causes a lot of problems like yours. It might be for the best if you just take it out completely. It makes the transformation a lot easier.

Not sure if it's even possible to fix this but I'll give it a shot...

Just got a Transmetal 2 (The red dragon) Megatron from Beast Wars and a piece of the wing (chromed part) is pretty much about to snap off...is there anything I can do to fix it? I can only think of just ripping the piece off and then try to superglue it, any other options?

Couldn't you apply superglue to the seam without snapping it off first? Either brush it on of drip it in?

Yeah..I think that's a good idea since it hasn't snapped off yet. I'll see if I can do that tomorrow. Thank you. :)

I remember someone talking about some chrome solution to repair faded or scratched chrome. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. If someone can help I'd appreciate it.

Could someone help me out please? Feel free to treat me like I'm thick and don't know anything about anything.

I'm having trouble with Triggerhappy, namely that his grey guns are loose. When I position his arms vertical so that the bronze thrusters point directly upwards, the grey guns on the sides of his arms fall downwards so that they point to the floor, rather than pointing upwards as they do in this picture:

Image

Now, from what I've read before, presumably I need to do something with those tiny pin-like screws in the hinge connecting these guns to the main grey section of the arms (one of which is visible to the right of his left fist in the above image).

Is this a case of applying clear nail varnish? If so, how do I get these tiny screws out? I've tried pushing them with a screwdriver but they don't budge and just seem to gouge the surrounding plastic.

I'm having a similar problem with Classics Megatron, as I want to remove his 'wings' but keep the trigger attached.

O, I do hope that's clear. Any help would be appreciated!

Leader Class Optimus

Postby arvydas » Wed Oct 10, 2007 11:54 pm

I recently discovered some annoying scratches on my Leader Class Optimus Prime. In his truck mode, the scratches are on his left fender where the flame pattern is painted. In his robot mode, the fender becomes the left calf.

The yellow paint is scratched off and it reveals red marks (which is the color of the plastic).

Does anyone know what paint I should use to touch up this part? What is the specific shade of yellow? What brand and type of paint (acrylic, spray)?

Where can I buy this paint?

Thanks.

Is there any way to maintain the paint on the G1 die-cast parts? I've noticed that the paint on my Optimus is flaking off quite easily.

Try getting a clear coat paint to paint over the remaining chrome parts. That won't restore it, but it'll preserve what's left of the chrome. But make sure that it's evenly coated.

I am going to have to fix an Alt. Wheeljack, one of his legs keeps popping off. The figure belongs to a friend of mine. Has anyone else had this problem with the Alt/BT line?

Have you looked at reprolabels.com? You could get new sticker sheets for them there - after carefully taking off the old, worn ones.

For chromewear, I would suggest using a thin even layer of Clear-coat paint. It won't repair the wear, but it'll slow down further chrome-wear.

Anyone know how to get the mold off of the pretender shells of the monster pretenders? Anyone know how to stop the shells from getting the mold in the first place? Anyone know how to stop the paint from just running off them? Anyone know how to stop the shells from secreting an oily substance?

And lastly does anyone know how to prevent bristleback from getting GPS?
