It's not "only Primes can carry the Matrix". It's "only those who carry the Matrix are Primes."

Were any of them Prime before that? Orion Pax? Hot Rod? No, they became Prime.

Here's my 2 cents in all this, the matrix knows what it wants to do and blah blah blah.

Still in a room full of bots and people he put it inside himself with no problem, it even howered for a second while his chest was opening(?).

Know, they all saw it happen, so why didn't they start calling him Prime?

My only thought to that would be that it wasn't till some time later that the term Prime would be used in honor for comanders and the comics are milking it as a way it always was.

What do you meen????

This stuff was never refered to again in the G1 cartoon so it was not retconed.

It was never a part of any of the comics so again no retconing.

Beast wars came almost 10 years after so thats not "soon" and theres nothing said in Beast Wars or Beast Machines that "retcons" any of that out.

The season 3 episode, "Forever is a long time coming."

That's the one where A3/Alpha Trion leads the rebellion against the Quintessons.

And????

How does that retcon the "U-haul" guys part in the past???

They never said that he lead the rebellion against the Quintessons....all they did was show him attacking the Quintessons.

Also I doubt that any "rebellion" against the Quints would have succeeded with only one leader.

True, i also doubt that any 1 leader could have beat the quintessions.

Im pretty sure A3 was the last leader in that fight, the victorious leader

I tend to think of him as the first but not the last.

That kind of fight would have needed a large number of attack groups working in small cells with leaders independent of each other.

Uh, no. You don't get to just dismiss that as "oh, it's just a joke". Especially when it's the Transformers equivalent of a "No Fat Chicks" tshirt.

Otherwise I'll go back to the "Leonard Nimoy finished off Orson Welles' lines" and "my cousin's neighbour's friend's brother had a blue G1 Bluestreak" thing. And claim it's a joke.

sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:I dont subscribe to the "first contact" theory ether but but its no less a valid theory then the "Chosen One" theory.

It's less valid due to the reasons I already stated. Put more simply, it's less valid because it is extremely problematic and has very large logic holes in it.

Otherwise the theory that G1 Soundwave is Dr Claw hiding inside a robot body, because we heard him talk all gravelly, not once but twice, is as valid as the "theory" that there was an audio production error.

This is fiction. Destiny exists because the writers say it does. Just like giant transforming robots, hairy footed ringbearers, a world where some girl desires Matthew McConaughey, and midichlorians exist because the writers say it does.

I dont get it.Even if there have been many that have used Ultra Magnus's actions on that shuttle as proof of his unworthyness is plain to see that when "Shadowman" posted "It's because he couldn't deal with that now." he ment it as a joke.

And are you suggesting that the "Chosen one theory" is more valid because its less "problematic" and has very "smaller" logic holes in it??????

Face it nether argument is any stronger then the other.

As for your Dr.Claw rant......since both were voiced by Frank Welker it could be said that "G1 Soundwave is Dr Claw hiding inside a robot body"

And even then it should be backed up by other writtings from the serries. And the writters never really got into the concept of destiny in the serries after the movie.

If I'm right the only mentioned the Chosen One aspect once or twice after the movie and they never portrayed Rodimus as if he was the fulfillment of any destiny.

As a matter of fact he was mostly portrayed as a failure of a leader that didnt even think to use all the resources he had at desperate times.
